I received an email from EA, telling me to reinstall my entire game. Sounds very pointless to me, so I will be holding off on that until I can get further clarification from the EA rep. Here's the email:
Dear ---------,
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.
Thank you for providing the information. I request you to please re install
the game by un installing the game completely. There is not any patch
released till now so re installing the will be fine.
If there is anything else that you need help with, please let us know.

That was more or less my reaction. I exchanged a few further emails, so I might as well post the other EA responses here:
Dear ----------,
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.
Sometimes
the files get corrupted, so a reinstall can work. But as your internet
speed is low I suggest you to please do the following:
In the Origin launcher, click on the information button for Mass Effect 3 ( i )
Right click "N7 Collector's Edition Materials"
Then click "Check for updates".
It should download a 50MB patch.
Install the patch.
If there is anything else that you need help with, please let us know.
Regards,
Ravi

To the best of my knowledge, there hasn't been a patch yet. I tried anyway, but no avail. I also tried a repair, which downloaded around 20MB but didn't fix my issue (obviously). Anyways, I told them that the patch thing didn't work, and I got this final email:
Dear ---------,
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.
I'm
sorry to hear you are still experiencing difficulties, and apologize
for any inconvenience. I am escalating your issue to my senior level
support staff for further investigation and better assistance. Due to
nature of your issue, it may take more time during investigation. Please
keep patience and our higher department will try their best to resolve
your issue.
You will get a response from our higher team with in 24-72 hours.
If
you have any other questions, then by all means feel free to let us
know. You can also refer to our extensive Self Help Knowledge base at
http://help.ea.com for common technical questions.
Regards,
Ravi

I didn't even bother responding to that one. But I've got my fingers crossed that someone who knows and understands the issue will respond and resolve it soon...

Sure but they should just give us back our bioware points in the meantime... I mean honestly a bug like this shouldnt even exist, how can they seriously not have found it pre-release? :S
It depends on how the bug is triggered. Most studios do not devote a lot of time or people to bug testing, or rather maybe the triple a studios do not. ME3 is full of more bugs then were present in ME2 at launch, I am not surprised something like this slipped by either.
I am surpised no one from Bw has replied to this yet though. I do realize they want a break after making the release date however posting in a forum is not what I would call a strenuous work acticivity that cannot be cone from a beach somewhere drinking a memosa.
Not really a big deal though, I can just play a few silver challenges to regain most of my stuff (happened to me last night). Initiallity I was really pissed but stuff like this happens, nothing we can do about till somone with the authority to fix it decides to speak up.

Couldn't someone who didn't lose anything just say, "Yeah, I lost my stuff, I want a refund too!"?

I'm not sure how they'll fix this. Since our equipment is lost is must all be client side. How do we prove we had the things we lost?

if it was client side then I could just hack and give myself all the weapons in the game, which is not the case...
The MP data is stored on their end.

At that stage I requested a refund via live chat, stating I was not able to see any of the items i purchased with bioware points.
I was asked for an order number so said that the multiplayer store does not give them, however I could provide the orgin order that i bought the bioware points on. After a lengthy delay I was told the order was being refunded and would be in my account 3-5 days.

In the demo someone did do this. There's a YouTube video of them showing off all the weapons and buying packs for 1,000 credits each. I don't see how it wouldn't be possible in the full game if it was in the demo.Horngard wrote...

I hit shift-F1 to add someone, and my game froze on me. I had to close with task manager. Upon loading it up, it froze on me while "Connecting to EA", so I had to close again. I loaded it up, tried to open Origin ingame again, and another crash.
So, I loaded it up once more, decided against trying to open Origin, and it welcomed me to multplayer and offered me a starter pack. Wtf?
Then I get ingame, and while I'm still a Krogan Soldier, my gear is gone. And if I go to characters, it says the Krogan is locked. So I can load it up as a Krogan, but if I go to change chars, I suspect I'll lose my krogan.
This is shocking and infuriating to me. I own just about every single Bioware game, own pretty much all the DLC for Mass Effect 2 on both PC and Xbox 360, AND I pre-ordered the 80$ version of Mass Effect 3.

Also don't even bother dealing with support as they are just bull****ting people all over. I was told my items would be restored in 24 hours on Friday. Didn't happen. Then I was told my Bioware Points would be restored on Saturday. That didn't happen. Then when I contacted support a third time and called them out on this crap they told me to post about it on the forums and abruptly ended the conversation. EA support is just jerking people around right now.

I didn't have too much, but now I dont know if I can play multiplayer. I want the stuff I had before restored, but when that happens, will I lose everything I aquired after that?

22 hours of playing, a lot of packs including 10 spectre, half of classes unlocked, many weapons.

This isn't about lost DLC. This is about the multiplayer unlocks, Bioware. This is really not complicated. You'll have to trust me on this.
My patience is beginning to wane, especially since my son just lost his single-player save which he's pumped many hours into. I've defended Origin when others slammed it, but the stupidity with both Origin/EA and Bioware as of late is essentially proving me wrong.

Actually, not the first bug i'm experiencing. (The first was an epic fail with missing bonus DLCs, solved now.)
Chat log with support about item reset (also, my unlocked chars became locked)
Lost over 15 spectre packs, 7 veteran packs, and 4 unlocked chars, though i have no time to play multiplayer.
Few classes were promoted. Not sure if bug affects promotion consequences or not, as the bugs could be not as small as it seems.
Technically, i think, it's impossible for developers to return old profiles (or at least, they will return them from backup, but they will have problems with selecting time of backups, cause everybody have different time of co-op profile reset bug.)
The most logical way for them is giving an bonuce to ppl confirmed by some criteries as owners of wiped co-op account.
