Same thing with me. I had 6000 war assets and 100% paragon, but it was grayed out. That was irritating, but not as irritating as the ending.
Maybe it was because I only had a 62% readiness rating because I hadn't played multiplayer in a month.

When speaking with the Ill man, did you choose all paragon options all the way thu? It seems to always work for me when I do this. Or all renegade as well..
I prefer breaking his hold and killing him myself tho. That one is always there

It has nothing to do with war assets, thankfully. I can't even get 4000 without multiplayer, but the TIM persuasions worked just fine for me. You need to use persuades every time you talk to him, in every conversation throughout the game whenever they're available. It might also be required to use all Paragon or all Renegade. I used all Paragon, but all of the Renegade options were available as well - not sure if it would be successful though, I haven't tried.

You require a full reputation bar, doesn't matter how paragon/renegade you go.
What's required, after that, however, is choosing the elaboration option in each and every dialogue with the Illusive Man. This will unlock a paragon/renegade option per each. If you opted for one of them in the dialogue, this unlocks that greyed option.

This, but I'll at that you may need to go into the other parts of all the conversations on the left side of the decision wheel. There are paragon and renegade responses without doing this, but you need every morality response in every conversation possible.wantedman dan wrote...

Weird I went full Renagade and still could of done Paragon on the last convo. It's about Rep not Paragon or Ren. And yes you have to do the investigate convo each time you talk to him. and yup it could be bugged idk.
