When should I stop playing, so that I don't get to witness the 'ending's?

I'm installing the game right now, I'd be grateful if you guys could help me with the following question.

At what point should I stop playing, so that I can avoid the 'ending's?

Also: Are the 'ending's foreshadowed in any way through the game? E.g., "if anything happens to me, Garrus, you get to keep my model spaceship collection" "I promise to keep them in pristine condition, even in the lush climate of a jungle, Shepard, don't worry"----and the like.

I don't want to spoil it, but you get to a certain part where they basically warn you that you're about to start the end assault. Hopefully Bioware will patch or release downloadable content that will give us better endings so that you can finish the game. I hope this helped.

Yeah, that's helpful; thanks. I'd like to avoid the entire 'end mission', actually.

You'll be off to nuke a Reaper in the face with a few missiles. After you've successfully lured said Reaper in close enough to blow his ass sky high, you'll then move on. Don't opt to move forward, as I'm relatively sure that this is the last save point before the ending stuff starts.

Also--everything up until the ending, the Earth missions included, are worth playing.

Yeah, you get to a certain point that isn't quite the end mission, but it's the mission that comes before it where they say you're about to begin the assault, are you sure you're ready.

This +1. However, to be safe, there comes a point in the story where you go after Cerberus. After this, it's implied that traveling to the Sol relay begins the final assault. I would save right before you select the relay on the Galaxy Map. However, I cannot emphasize how much I enjoyed the game, even the final assault on Earth. Heck, even the final showdown with a rather illusive individual was quite well done I thought. And would be worth a gander just for the experience. Yet, beware, up-up-up the elevator you go and... Okay WTF is this?

Perhaps I could Alt+F4 right after the encounter with the illusive individual?

I think I'll play safe, and keep track of the 'last save point' mentioned above.

Thanks a lot, this has been very helpful.
