Can't wait for Dragon Age 3

Me neither... I can't wait for it to come out so I can say "NO FREAKIN WAY BIOWARE! NEVER AGAIN" and leave it on the shelf. After spending out for the Collector's Edition plus Prima Hardback Manual I expected a title that worked and not falls over at the first hurdle. Not even getting to the start manual after a glitch corrupts the game has ruined this for a LOAD of people (even if they did do the Resante Fix, they lost their achievement counters).

But going back to DA2, the repeated rubber stamp map problem was bad but ME3 Black Hole that you have to fix yourself (and I gave up trying for the 5000 kills that I got near to several times only to have to clear out the scores again just to play the game) has just ruined it for me. The numberous promises from Bioware that they are working on the problem just shows that they were lying to us because this should have been fixed by now.

Bioware used to be my favourite game developer. Somewhere along the lines they turned into Darth Vader who just don't care... or so it seems.  :?

Know what? I think it's all down to this damned recession... they just can't afford to do this extended cut and do fixes that community based patches manage to fix their problems. They probably thought "Oh, the Resante fix is good enough... Mark this down as fixed and spend the money on working on the Extended Crud Edition!" My counter is showing 102 days since I first heard about it (and some Americans are saying it happened even earlier).

Know what? If Bioware had said "Sorry, we can't fix the Black Screen issue until the Extended Edition is completed now!" I would feel less antagonism towards them. All this "This is our top priority" just before they post patches and then it doesn't fix the problem shows me it it ISN'T their top priority.

ME1 and ME2 were awesome games. ME3 is an awesome game until the cliff edge at the end... but the black screen turned the majority of awesomeness into a and EPIC FAIL.

You don't remember the games that are awesome... you remember the games like Elite II - Frontiers for the bugs yet the game was awesome for the time... Someone stated that Frontiers had TWENTY SEVEN PATCHES. For ME3 we get... 2... and we still have not fix the black hole of DOOOOOOOOM.

OK, rant off. Hopefully Bioware can pull up their big girl pants and fix this nightmare of a public relations implosion. I'm crossing my fingers that Bioware can fix their image AND their game problems... as both are linked.

COME ON BIOWARE... YOU USED TO BE EPIC (well, not EPIC... they kind of suck lol), AND YOU CAN BE AGAIN!

Recession?  I don't even want to THINK about what EA spent marketing ME3; that ---- was everywhere.

Anyways yeah I know how you feel...freaking game still not fixed...not even playing on the 360 anymore using a pc now....thought about picking up the PC version, and I would of honestly love this game, but when I look and see no fix I just say f--- it.

Probably won't get DA3 either, just the CS for this was so freaking bad, really just pissed me off.

edit*  And they wouldn't give me a free pc version for my troubles.....well FU too lol.

I was wondering, I recently performed the fix and then started a new imported campaign in ME3. I just went to the bonus power section in med-bay and there were no bonus powers available. I had previously unlocked all of the bonus powers. Are the bonus powers affected by the fix or is it just another glitch in this damn game?

Yes that is an unfortunate side effect to performing the fix.

Never bothered me as I beat everything on insanity without any bonus powers, just used what I had.

yeah, but the infiltrator does not have any native shield and barier killing powers.  Therefore I like using shield drain.

Fair enough. I'm just used to insanity with any class since ME2. Infiltrators damage and cloak make up for everything IMO. I never needed a shield drain when I just snipe or shotgun kill things in 1-2 hits. Similar to MP.

yes however if you have the bonus power ability you can get more kills while cloaked if you have a power to take out any defense, still Insanity is a breeze anyway.

there is also the Virmire survivor problem in that you need two play throughs in order to unlock all of the bonus powers and I only have one in which Kaiden survived and I do not want to play that play through again (I do not like Kaiden in ME3)

Lol on that we can agree.  I never liked Kaiden much in general, had him survive in ME1 on a separate file, but that was just for achievements at the time.

Dunno what problem you're talking about. either you have Ashley, or Kaiden alive, meaning you get their powers after speaking with them, so of course you can't get both in a single playthrough.

I have boldfaced the problem.  The only ME2 playthrough I have wiht Kaiden alive is a femshep who romanced him,  he wasn't too bad in ME1 but he is just annoying in ME3 and I do not want to bother with another playthrough where I have to deal with him.

I'm pretty excited actually =)

Come on and play it Geth! See you online? I never played ME3 for a while now. Took a break, got sick of MP and its community. Gets boring if you play it too much.

You're too optimistic Bushido, while I would like to think that DA3 is going to be better than DA2 (it wouldn't be difficult to do, considering that DA2 was a collective mass of train wrecks).  I'm going to wait until I can read multiple reviews of it before purchasing it, the samething I'm gonna go with any game Bioware releases from now on.

Lets not forget that there has been no word from Bioware in more than two months.  Lets also not forget that this issue has not been resolved since essentially release day.

I hate to be the glass is half-empty kind of guy, but looking optimisticly at this situation (or something involving Bioware) will only lead to dissapointment.

Yes, I realize that I've been absent on the forums for a while, but I've been recovering from surgery.

If you say so. to each his own.  DA2 isn't as bad as the internet made it out to be.  Decent reviews. Check Metacritic.com, used for years now.

I got enough problems of my own IRL.  Time to be more positive.  Sick of all the hate, attacks, and pessimism against a group of people who dedicated 8 years of their lives since developing ME1, and my fav trilogy ever. So I'm staying away from those forums and people for a good while. Definitely not going there during EC release. I'll just enjoy it all for myself.

Anyway just wanna extend my thanks to BW staff for their works, while we sit at computers typing and talking. Looking forward to EC, still early to download it over here.

Yeah apparently we have to wait... 6 and a half hours before it's available for download? So another forum said- that the marketplace updates at 6 AM EST. They could be crazy though.
I have hope, Bioware. I love Mass Effect. That's WHY we are so angry that this black screen of death hasn't been fixed. We WANT to support you and say how great you are. But... you're making it awfully difficult. Help us love you!

Nah my 1st gen. X-Box bit the dust finally.  I was beginning to think I had the last working one in existance...so i built a PC rather than get a new one.

Been planning to for awhile.

And ya D2 wasn't that bad at all; just rushed.  Shame because it has great elements.  I know people that love that game though.

Ohh wow lol.

So what about ME3? You just bought a PC copy and replaying it on that?

Also the Burrito man is so right. Well said plumpy Elcor! Who knows, could the EC file fix the Black screen? Remember when Justin said the last patch fixed his? (temporarily)

Just downloaded the extended cut pack and the accompanying update.

Sorry to say (for me at least) the Black Hole is alive and well.

So....Black Screen....Fix....Please....Bioware? 111 days for my black screen and no sign of a fix in sight. So much stuff has come and gone since then. I've actually moved passed my anger on this one. I can say these things for certain. I will never buy another product from Bioware. Not any new IP, Dragon Age game, Star Wars game on the current generation of consoles or next. What was once a AAA developer has in my eyes, gone to complete **** in the shadow of EA. They are exhibiting no sympathy for it's paying customers and fans. If this is the type of service I can expect from them, well good luck. Your not getting my hard earned cash any more. I'll check back here in a month or two. It's summer time. **** Mass Effect and Bioware.

And I see now that there are a bunch of issues with EC, which I suppose means the Black Hole gets to the bottom of the priority heap yet again.

Lovely.
