Okay this is the first time I encounter my mass effect 3 game freezing on the start up menu as soon as I sign in. As it's loading half way it freezes or when it's about to say you signed in it freezes. Bioware Help!!

So it looks like after months of blissful ignorance, I have, today, joined the ranks of those afflicted with the Black Screen of Death. My heart goes out to all of you that have been dealing with it for months as it's made me hopping mad and I've only had the issue for an hour!
Now I'm hunting to find Resante's fix as mentioned above.... ;)

Has anyone tried to keep the total size of their game save files under 1 MB? I had the same exact problem as all of you guys are having now with ME3, except in my case it was with ME2. I went to the Xbox tech issues section of the forum here, tried this very simple solution, and it worked perfectly. Never seen the dreadful Black Screen ever since. What I don't understand is that the people at Bioware were never able to figure out such a simple solution by themselves and it had to come from a forum member...

I am having problems with the black screen of death after the credits roll and I get the data pad informing me about how Shepard is a legend now, and so forth. Shortly after you expect to see Shepard back on the ship before the end game mission again, but hold the phone I can't because i get the Black Screen of Death after I get the data pad. I was having this problem weeks before the Extended Scenes DLC. I have tried many things as well, and still nothing seems to fix this. I have no problem loading the game I just have it after I beat the game. This is very weird and hopefully someone has found a solution on EA/Bioware's side.

different issue.  Just restart your Xbox.

I've done this and many other tips. I spoke with an EA representative, and he said that Bioware is working on a patch for BOTH Black Screens that occur on Start-Up and after the End Game Credits roll. They want all of us to give specific details on exactly what we incounter before the Black Screen. They said it has to do with the DRM of either Mass Effect 3 or XBOX 360 itself. They are aware of the situation and are working to produce a patch for the 360 asap. This patch will address both Start-Up and End game Black Screens. Just saying that this problem is similar to them as I am not the only one with either Start-Up BlkSoD or END GAME BlkSoD.

They have known about our black hole for 2 months now, and Resante created his fix at almost the same time. they do not give 2 fvks about fixing our glitch.

This is ridiculous; it has been four, almost five, months with no fix.  Hell, it has been practically three months since Bioware dropped into the thread to say, "Hey, we have top men working on this."

Bioware/EA has completely failed to fix this.  Yes, Resante's 'fix' does work, but it doesn't prevent it from happening over and over, with no way to tell when it might happen next (not that you could tell if it was going to happen in the first place).  But it isn't a solution; it's a makeshift crutch at best.
(No offense meant Resante, you did what Bioware refuses to do.)

The complete lack of communication from Bioware regarding anything about this issue tells me (as it should tell everyone) that they have no idea what the f**k is wrong or how to fix it.

Putting aside the fact that the endings sucked and the new ending content seemed pretty half-assed, I will NEVER buy another Bioware game.  I don't care if it comes with a bar of gold bullion.  Your complete lack of caring and updates regarding this issue has reassured me that this kind of issue (or similar issue) will pop up in any other game you make and you will do just as little to try and fix it.

I want my $80 back, plain and simple.  I should have done this from the very start, but I wanted to give you a chance to fix this.  I won't prop up your bad business model any longer.
Since I still have a open ticket on this issue, I just requested a refund for this junk.

Does anyone know where the pit with all the ET games in it is located, because Mass Effect 3 belongs in the same pit.

You know, I feel the same way as you --- certainly opinionated scruitney is one thing concerning the end of the game and other things wrong with it --- but please. How is it that I can play other EA games that require Origin for my console and they play flawlessly, yet ME3 crashes? This is pretty bad IT-Support wise because quite a considerable number of players have been affected --- makes me wonder if a swath of us was selected because we voiced our opinion a bit too in detail for the boys in the board room a bit too much? Surely this is paranoia talk I am sure but when you have 0 answers back and pretty much a big finger afterwards because their game has by now pretty much ran its course and most people have moved on or can live with this egregious error. I don't think its worth your time to try and get your 80.00 worth, only because I see many people have sold their own copy of the CE edition for much-much-much less after the terrible ending. I'm just about considering donating it to the local Gamestop really, it won't fetch that much credit but at this point, its a cool looking metal box with a whole lot of junk in it.

What a bad ending. I don't think I've ever since such an epic fail.

I commend Resante however --- I was very impressed with his own motivation and keen skills to come up with an answer.... Hey Resante! They should hire YOU on their team but I don't think you'd like your name mixed with these cats, maybe start your OWN game company. I apperciate your work but I also decided not to try the fix because I shouldn't, as a paying customer, have to buy extra components, basically break into the game's code it self, and then wipe out bad files ---- that is the job of their IT- Quality and Control department, in which they are paid high salaries to provide such a service. For each fixed player tag, I think they should fork over an 8 hr work day's worth of pay to this man for doing the job they failed to do. Terrible turn of events. If I weren't poor, I'd most certainly go to the better business bureau if not file a lawsuit to provide the people whom got screwed their money back. Not trying to get more or less like some others might but there is no consumer justice in this what so ever and I hope this show of complete disregard hits you well into your future titles. I know I'll be there to help that a long by informing fellow consumers about your past performances. Indeed what a pile of Gob---ite.

Thats a part of the same problem.  (trying to sign in on the title screen) You'll need to do the fix as well.  I feel you.  Don't be worried, its not too hard to perform.  counter-based achievements get reset but at that point in time I could care less.  I was just glad to play ME3 again.

And I fixed mine in March.. lol.  Like a week after launch.

I feel the same way a lot of you do, that we shouldn't have a mess around with the game to get it to work. I wanted to play the game I paid for so I was willing to investigate it knowing full well if a patch ever materialized it wouldn't be out for a long time... luckily we found out what the problem was.

Now, I realize BW has a tougher task than I did because they have to figure out WHY this is happening, fix the roots of the problem, then attempt to fix the profiles of the gamers in the black hole (and attempt to do it without resetting stats). I get that. What I DON'T get is the lack of communication and updates, even if they have 1 guy sitting in a closet working on this they could have him check in with us periodically, and tell him to update BW / EA customer support with the fact that this is a known issue. They're probably still telling people to delete their gamesaves and pretending this problem doesn't really exist.

Personally I have stopped playing ME3 except for the MP events, but I still read the forum. The whole situation is outrageous and I hope at least 1 person at BW is ashamed this has gotten to this point. We might seem like a bunch of whiny gamers but people paid good money for this game and can't even play it. Screw the endings, I downloaded Extended Cut but haven't touched single player in months.

Good to see you again commander hulett, I mean Resante lol.  Your rational voice is welcome.  Hell I couldn't play without contacting you back then.  Whew...

Yeah I don't do ME3 much now.  MP gets repetitive, got bored.  Did the EC few times.  But went back to Skyrim after.  No MP in it so I play those types of games offline sometimes to enjoy peacefully.

I agree about the communication, lack of.  Odd. As for me I follow the story forum more.  Don't read MP board.

I got back into Battlefield 3, I forgot how fun (and frustrating) it can be. If any of you guys play it feel free to add me, GT is Resante. Close Quarters is more fun than I thought it would be. Just got Tiger Woods 2012 on sale and have been playing that too, although I miss the fun stuff you could wear back in 04 like gold teeth, platinum necklaces and earrings.

The last 3 games I purchased have been EA. It bothers me a little.

I really want BF. I was part of the beta, but never purchased it for myself. Just borrowed from a friend.

Did you buy the BF Premium? I hear its such a good deal, and many people already bought it. Includes ALL DLC so far right? Just for a one time fee?

I saw this. Good to hear, better than COD. F-ing hate that series now... Lol.

I have just given-up on everything on my system. I suppose when I have enough Microsoft Points I will purchase Dawnguard and continue on my Skyrim journey. Sad to say I would rather not get back into Skyrim since it takes all of your time...literally. Mass Effect has always been my franchise, but if mistakes like this continue to happen...I don't know. Honestly, I knew I wouldn't like EA rooting around with Mass Effect, but Mass Effect 2 was a great game. Now Mass effect 3 comes and the game is reduced into a "Seller" instead of what it once was...an entertaining Space Sage which kept users dreaming of possibilities. This is what EA does to popular franchises though.

I don't have premium, I don't think I will want all of the DLC. I loved COD Black Ops but knew MW3 was going to be more MW2 so i passed. I'll probably pass on Black Ops 2 as well. If they come out with an original COD game I might try it again. There is just so much more to do in Battlefield that it is hard for me to go back to a plain shooter.

All the CoDs have essentially been the same game over and over under a slightly different name.  Same basic story, same basic gameplay, same graphics engine since CoD2...   Just my opinion though.

Don't get me wrong, Black Ops was the only one that wasn't essentially the same story with minor alterations.  It was great game and, for anyone who knows what our (the US) government did during the Cold War, it is quite fitting.

Bushido, if you liked the beta, you missed out on what was a good game.  Now Battlefield has been patched into a CoD fanboy clone.  No skill required.

I am a Battlefield vet. who has played all of the Battlefield games (2142 was the best imo).  Battlefield used to be about teamwork and the skilled thriving over the weak.  Not so much anymore.  Might be a different story if you bought it for PC, which is what I should have done, since the 360 version is just filled with CoD fanboys and lone wolfs.

And yea, the premium package is a nice deal if you were looking to get it as you get ALL the dlc for BF3, past, present, and future.

I prefer the large maps too, and game modes like conquest, assault conquest, and sometimes rush (for BF3, when I played it).

Now if your talking about 2142 then it was Titan all day long, with a side of conquest.

Don't get me wrong Bushido, BF3 was a fun game until DICE decided to detract everything fun out of it.  You can't sit back and MAV your enemies to death anymore whilst providing enemy positions and being a deadly distraction to the enemy team.  Air combat was dumbed down so much as to that its pointless.  Their constant flip flopping of decisions is agrevating at best.
ie - First only mines persisted after death, then it was changed to include claymores, then stupidly C4 (suicide runs up to tanks to place it, detenate after respawn).  Then changed so nothing did, then mines etc.

Their stat allocation for weapons is even fked.  Slugs do next to no dmg and are inaccurate as if you were using a musket rifle.  Vert foregrips control horizontal recoil (side to side) and not vertical recoil (up and down).  Suppressed belt fed LMGs, lulz.  MG36 only has 50 rounds, yet it always uses a 100 round magazine (they also removed extened mags for it, which allowed it to have 100 rounds).

But don't let me scare you from the game, you might still enjoy it.  I'm just an original BF vet that has watched the series slowly kill itself with BF3 and is dissapointed.

I havent played the game in months, so I haven't played Close Quarters.  I am reluctant to go back to that game.
Also, they had shotguns down pat in BFBC2, don't know why they needed to mess with them.

As for straight up 1942 didn't care for it much, but i did enjoy the Secret Weapons expansion.
Didn't care much for BF:Vietnam either.

It is a shame the Longbow is excluded from most games now, but the Zulu isn't bad either.

The one thing that I miss from 1942 is that you could fly bombers, and devastate enemy forces with it.

Gotta say though, I do miss the old days of BF3's badass motherfkery.
