Just got this error today, even though the game has worked perfectly from the day 1 so far. Thank god for this thread and the fix posted here, otherwise I'd still be wondering if there's something wrong with my xbox (even if ME3 seemed to be the only game affected).

The fix I at least used was specifically for xbox. Works like a charm and it's easy to do even if it might sound a bit intimidating at first. Here's the link:

The good news, Senalda, is that since it waited so long, you probably already have your 5000 kills and whatnot. So I mean... as long as you have all the achievements already, doing the mod has absolutely no negative side effects. Which is pretty slick.

except for resetting your bonus powers, I will never again have access to Barrier, or Reave, due to the fact that I can not stand Kaiden in ME3.

God, this is like some really bad nightmare... I just came back hoping to find that Bioware had gotten their act together and fixed the problem but nooooooooo. Over SIX months and no fix and no updates from them. Seems like they are just ignoring the issue now.

I think I'll fix this game one more time and if it locks up again I'll just write it off as a bad joke and never recommend Bioware games to anyone ever again. This has ruined Mass Effect for many players... players who thought that Mass Effect was the best damned space opera game EVER. It would be still if we could play the game without having to hack our Xbox Gamertags just to play the game.

Totally agreed. If it wasn't for borderlands 2 I'd be steaming mad. But as far as I can see now is this a total failure. Don't matter what they say. Biowares founders have "retired" and EAs true takeover begins. If you read into it there's also going to be a me4. But who knows. They probably will just leave us for dead

I got Mass Effect 1 and am going to sell / trade ME2 and 3. I had a strange urge to replay the first one and had fond memories of it. In other news Borderlands 2 is badass and has made me forget the debacle of the black hole. Game of the year material for sure.

I'm not trading mine. But totally agreed borderlands 2 kicks the **** out of a lot of things. And unless black ops 2 truely turn it around (not all that likely) should get game of the year.

Personally I can't wait for Dishonored... Steampunk FTW. Never took to the cell shaded games like Borderlands personally. Seems to mess with my synesthesia for some reason.

yah Borderlands if freaking awesome, too bad the Microsoft store forgot to mention that their 1600 MS points/$10 off your next order was instead of the preorder bonuses, not in addition to those said bonuses. So, no "premier club" for me.

 This started happening to me to.  Black screen at the start screen.  It only happens with the gamertag that I always use.  I patched the game some time ago but only recently started playing multiplayer.  This is when all the problems started.  I have tried everything and nothing has worked. This really needs to be fixed. For such a big name franchise I'm suprised that it's giving us such bull****.

Last I checked there were no Mac versions of the tools.

I had to use paralells, but it worked fine once I was on the windows side.
