Borderlands 2 is one of my favorit games but I still just want to play leviathan and i haven't used all the DLC multiplayer characters P.S. now four events out the MOTHERF****ING WINDOW also I haven't tried to fix it myself because i'm not good with tech:(

It really is quite easy, just follow the instructions to the letter, and it will work.  The instructions are very good.

I love borderlands 2. I have it beaten with my gunzerker already was lvl 33 when I did it. Now its off to second play through for some real BADASS loot. And it may be my favorite game this generation.

don't know about gunzerker (only class I have not even created yet) but the siren is freaking awsome, just spec out the skill tree on the left and you can set your enemies on fire, corrode their faces off, electrocute them, and have all three do more damage, because they are slagged.  And all of these come from phaselock, so just pump them full of smg bullets that do either fire, or corrosive damage, and everything dies.:P:wub:

I was having major fun with Borderlands 2. Then it broke in exactly the same way as ME3. I must have really wronged someone in a past life, or i'm cursed or something to have the black hole on both games. Right now i feel like selling my xbox and all my games - what's the point in having a ****ing game system if your not guaranteed to be able to play your games on it.

As an aside, Resante's fix worked with Borderlands 2 as well, just changing the gpd file selected. It's exactly the same problem - Titlespecific1, 2 & 3. I deleted them, rehashed my profile and it worked again, although i lost all of the skins i'd unlocked and the promotional golden keys i was saving.

I'm really really pissed off with xbox at the moment. That it happened to one game is bad, that it's happened to two major releases is ****ing criminal. I'm sick of having to re-learn all my bonus powers in ME3 (four times i've had it black hole and had to reset them ), now i'm going to have to re-find all the skins that i've had drop. Not to mention some of them are mission specific so they're gone for good unless i start a new character.

Given that it's happened on two different games - could it be a hardware issue? Both times have been caused by the game initially freezing while i was playing then freezing on the start up screen when after i've had to reset my xbox. I've been thinking of getting a new xbox, so if it is a hardware issue i'll be getting it sooner to get things fixed. But if this is a profile or software issue i don't think i'll bother.

since it can be fixed by a software fix (deleting files), and also the fact that the game works fine on other gamertags on the same system.  It would seem that it is a software issue, not a hardware one, so I wouldn't bother.

I hope this isn't just the start of random games having this problem. It'll be pretty sad if we have to start backing up our own profiles and gamesaves just to avoid this kind of **** from every game.

 great news everybody, Patch 4 is coming out on thursday and should fix this glitch.  Not sure what happens to all of us that resante already helped though

Edit: I pm'd Chris, asking if the patch would cause issues with the fix, and his response was "I don't know, we haven't tested it"

Edit2: when I responded to that he said "we can not test the pach with all fan made mods" so here we go again:crying:

Now I'm soooo happy I didn't fix it and waited. I hope it does fix it. But it don't matter borderlands is blowing my mind. A shotgun that does 6000 damage? And smg that's like a lmg clip size that does 1230 a bullet? Can't turn that down.... Just too bad I deleted my save.

are you still on your first playthrough? because those stats are not very mindblowing I have a shotgun that does over 1000 X 14 damage.  but yah Borderlands 2 is freaking amazing,  I am having so much fun with my siren that has the cataclysm tree maxed, and pulls enemies towards the phaselock.

Second playthrough but I just got to sanctuary. But I still love it beat the first one and its in the top 10 this generation.

You and me both. I was totally gutted when it happened. I'd learnt to deal with it on ME3, but that it was happening on another game made me pretty sad.

We know wher the issue with ME3 lies and BW seem to think they've solved it in the upcoming patch at least. With BL2, i think it's a similar issue (as it had the same symptoms and your fix worked), but one thing that i noticed is that when i got rid of the offending files in XDBF and put my profile back in, it'd reset my Badass rank and removed all of my skins. I believe that there is currently a bug with BL2 that resets Badass rank. I don't know if it also removes the skins. I'm wondering if the two are connected. It just seems too conincidental for the files that are causing the black hole bug on BL2 (and ME3) to also be the files causing the reset Badass rank bug.

Or maybe i'm making connections where there aren't any - after all, i know very little about stuff like this.

If you have done the .gpd fix and are now working, I don't see how Bioware's patch would affect you at all. We'd need to know exactly what their patch does, though.

...and then come friday this thread will be locked because they claim that the issue was resolved, even if it wan't.

 so the part about the black screen fix was modified to this

- Fixed a rare crash (black screen) on Xbox 360: Upon booting up the game and attempting to reach the title screen, players will now be able to get to title screen to recover their save games. Progress to locked achievements will be reset. Achievements already unlocked will remain unaffected. 

so it looks like they literally implemented Resante's fix, but they may have inserted a check to see if you are affected...hopefully that check works properly, or there will be a lot of angry gamers because their progress was reset on achievments, and bonus powers.

I have the portion of the thread that concerns the BSOD copied two comments ago.  It says that achievement progress will be reset, but achievments already unlocked will be unaffected.  Which is the exact result of using Resante's fix, the other side affect is that bonus powers are reset, I doubt they could fix it and have only one of the side effects, they may not know, or may have left it out.
