I feel that we should be compensated with whatever ending dlc they are coming out with, as I bet the fix to our problem wont be solved until it comes out anyway. Also, seeing as the dragon age 2 patches contained many fixes, I doubt we will see a dedicated fix to this problem. My advice is to stay patient, play some other games and STAY away from any me3 spoilers. I'm currently going through a back catalog right now, though its just too bad the next couple of days are the only free time I will have way from work.

It might be best if it doesn't get fixed till the ending dlc, they need to do some serious work there

I don't see them finding a way to actually compensate anyone, since it would be pretty hard to differentiate between people who actually have run into the bug, and people wanting to get something for free, the idea seems like and absurd long shot to me.

Whereas I just want to see the ending everyone's complaining about.

But hey, if they want to kick a little something to me (cashmoney candy), I wouldn't complain.

Except, if you buy into those rumors, it states that the DLC is free.

i would like to be given the stuff from this weekends online thing and any other online things they do while we can't play. though it would be hard to authenticate who actually has the issue and is due the packs

We need to be very vocal about our dissatisfaction with this matter.   It is absurd that we should suffer because of a game breaking glitch in BioWare and EA's game.

I've been so vocal about this til I'm blue in the face and I think they all have me on block here and on twitter surprised they haven't banned me cuase I'm hurting their "potential sales" for a bug in THEIR GAME

They are probably so egotistical that they just tell us their working on it but actually they just reported it to MS and told their janitor to act like they are working on it

I personally have lost 170 gigs of data from formatting my hdd they suggested might fix the problem tens of thousands of hours gone because of a bug in their game not even including the emotional strain this bug has caused me and the lost of sleep I'll be damned if I don't receive some compensation

You're probably not. There's probably some legal clause or something in one of the user agreements that says we are not entitled to compensation due to unforeseen glitches.
I'm not trying to be a dick, but I just don't think EA will ever acknowledge us. More likely a patch will be silently released around April 4-5 and that will be the end of it.

Good evening sir,
I am not certain whether this email will be automatically deleted or not but I might as well give it a go. You see, I have been experiencing a quite severe issue with one of your companies games. The game in question is Mass Effect 3 specifically for the XBOX360. I have spent nearly five hours of my life collectively trying to fix this problem I have been having with both the folks at Microsoft Support, EA support and those even at Best Buy's Geek Squad: my own place of work. I would not be taking this time to seriously email you if I did not see this issue as important.
The issue in question is freezing of the game just before the title screen of the game. This happens directly after seeing the image of earth on the loading screen. It causes a direct system freeze up where the only way to unfreeze the XBOX360 is to turn the power off. Upon initially finding this error, I did what any gamer would do to try to fix it. I cleaned it, installed it to hard disk, returned it three times for another copy, reset the cache of my memory unit, called both EA and Xbox support all to no avail. When I decided to go out on a limb and sign out of my gamer profile, the issue was fixed and the game was then again playable. The problem with this is that if data on the XBOX360 is saved under a gamer profile, it is under that profiles ownership and cannot be re-accessed by another gamer profile or even local profile. I proved this theory with successfully playing the game Mass Effect 3 on three of my friend's XBOX360s and all worked just fine. The instant I recovered and signed into my gamer profile, the system locked up the same way mine had done...on all three systems at the same screen.
This issue my friend, is not game-breaking but a fully game-preventing glitch that MUST be addressed. Despite my contacting of EA and Xbox, no announcement of this issue has been even slighted on the end of Bioware. This concerns me because the more I search the web on this issue the more instances of it I see pop up. It is fully random when it strikes. My glitch persisted after about a day of game-play. I managed to complete the game but was blocked with this horrid glitch the morning I desired to begin my second play through.
I am not alone in this matter Mr. Wong. Please bring this to the attention of your fans as soon as possible. If this email does not reach you, I just hope you guys find out whats wrong and fix it as soon as you can. I will include links to other examples of this issue just so you can synthesize that I do not stand alone.
YOUTUBE VIDEO: Mass Effect 3 Glitch as described above:   (This is not my video, I do not own or associate myself with the owner, accept for our common issue.)BIOWARE FORUM DISCUSSION: http://social.biowar...-9684873-1.html
Thank you for your kind time to read this Mr. Wong, I do not expect any sort of compensation if this glitch is later fixed, knowing I can help is all I desire.

THIS BETTER GET THEIR ATTENTION!!

Yes, admittedly it would be difficult to say with certainty who actually has this issue.  But I don't see how they can not compensate us somehow.  Some of us have been unable to play for more than a week now.  Some of us have even formatted our hard drives, essentially voiding hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of game saves.  That means a zero return on the investment ($) we made (spent) on the game.  That would also mean a negative (think, hundreds, if not thousands, [because I don't know about the rest of you, but I am an avid gamer, I play a lot of games] of hours of game-play gone) return for those of us who formatted our drives to try to fix this issue.  And I sure as all heck don't want a discount on Origin, a service I don't even use because I game on the 360.

Just wanted to toss this out here.  The EA support guy I talked to didn't know how long a week was.

Here's hoping. Also, change 'accept for our common issue' to 'except for our common issue'
Other than that, its long enough that they'll be too curious NOT to read it!

I feel your pain tykimykk. I lost my ME1/ME2 and ME3 saves to this glitch. The reason I specified the compensation part in the message is so that whoever reads it doesn't start there and auto-delete the message. I work at Geek Squad for Best Buy and I have been bombarded with repairs/returns and mad customers that I cannot explain to why this glitch is happening. Bioware really messed this one up. I have no idea what to do now. It's really made me lose faith in console gaming. I have turned to WoW to drown my sorrows. It's quite sad actually.

I was more referencing the N7 challenge that we're missing out on this weekend but extra attention to the actual glitch itself doesn't hurt either.

Yeah nothing we can do I agree

Thing is they can push out an emergency update if they want.  Does it cost them.....yes.  Since this breaks the game we just bought as far as I'm concerned they are entitled too.

MS cert. doesn't take forever, it's just to unsure any updates don't brick the box.

It surprises me, that none from bigger game website isn't writing about it. I am sure, that if they wrote about a this problem it would be solved more quickly. Issue of publicizing the case in the media about games. Perhaps, game services are afraid of a future EA reaction.

Still no response from Bioware. Why am I not surprised. They can respond all day long about the grissom academy thing and the face import issue but not this epic game preventing bug failure. It's like we've been swept under the rug. I wish I could charge a few thousand people 60 bucks for something that doesn't work. I'd have a pretty good week if that was the case and not answer many phone calls or emails either. I think we need to take it to Kotaku, IGN, Joystiq, etc.... I really can't believe that no major blog is talking about this. They must have gotten some shut-up money from EA.

This just might be the last POS game I ever buy from EA and Bioware. The complete lack of a response is turning me off to these companies more and more with each day. Looking down below there are what, something like 20 - 25 moderators and not one of them can comment or give us an update to their progress on fixing this issue? That is horrible customer and fan service and shows a complete lack of compassion for the people experiencing this game destroying bug. By the way Bioware, Dragon Age 2 sucked. The first one was way better and you had to go off and ruin the second. Way to go. Way to go on ruining Mass Effect for me as well. Maybe it's better off I'll never see the "crappy ending for ME3" and just live in the time of ME1 and 2 when things we're good and when games actually worked when you paid for them.

I just pretend this black screen ment the universe ended without warning. Better ending then the one's Bioware came up with.

I started having the same problem two days ago. Exactly as everyone else has described. I can sign in on a different profile and everything works fine, but it locks up with the black screen of death after the earth screen on my profile. I'm disappointed I can't play in this weekend's event, but I'm optimistic for a patch by next week. It seems to be too serious of an issue to ignore for too long. I love the game, I just can't play it!

But, RE: Racoon City comes out Tuesday...so worse case scenario I play that until this is fixed.

I wrote in EA facebook site again. This time I add glitch movie to my message. They again moved my message form main board to users posts (kind of spam). Of course next they left my post without answer...
