yeah exactly its BS on biowares side did some more digging and according to a post i saw said the problem is EA's server that links to your gamertag and a fix for this problem should be out by end of month........ using a quote from an old boss "I can build a house in less than a week" and it takes them almost 3 to do something about this massive bug unacceptable!

The problem is that it can take 1-2 days to reproduce this issue. (I got this issue on a second playthrough so reproducing it can be time consuming) They can have a new build with a fix ready in a day or two. Testing that new version takes another 1-2 days. More crashes and issues appear and are documented. A new version up is required and this whole process restarts. Then they need to send it to Microsoft and they can take days to test it for submission. Weekend hits and only 1/4 the staff stays (they are out for St Patrick's day). To make matters worse they probably laid off most of the testers after the game passed submission. This is just my guess as a guy with over 6 years in QA.

I imagine they are. If the problem is a server/gamertag connection, then I can imagine it may take them to the end of the month to fix it. EA and Bioware probably run monthly maintenance on the servers. Taking them off line for fixes and tweaks every time a error occurs would cost a fortune. So they probably just grouped our bug in with a list of bugs gathered from all the other games and when the time comes around the 30th, they'll fix them all in one go. 
Sucks but they're a company.

EA....yeah.....some people don't like the way the decals look.....we'll get to the exploding tires problem once we've fleashed this decal issue out.

World Bearer, I know these things take time.  But they could at least not slap us in the face by holding in-game contests, when they know people cannot play their game due to their negligence.  It's insulting to say the least.

I don't think this issue is even ME3-specific, because my boyfriend is now getting the same glitch with ME2. He's already contacted EA but got the same generic answers that I got which didn't work.

If so, then it is definitely tied to something on EA/Bioware's end.

I just started getting this yesterday!  And yeah I tried playing ME1 and 2. and other games.  They work just fine.

 All I want is to play the game again. I waited over an hour to get this game midnight and am being owned by a 100 percent crash. WTF! All I want is to get my last 3 achievements. I purchashed every DLC in ME 2 because I feel a game as good as Mass Effect 2 is worth it. But I guess Bioware does not care about consumers that purchse EVERY DLC in Mass Effect 2. Check my acheivements! 1355 yo!!! Please respect your die hard fans!!!!! Shepard out!!!!

I purchased the DLC without any hesitation. I have never seen an issue this bad EVER while I tested games. I would NEVER expect this from the producers of my favorite game. I love Mass Effect more than Elder Scrolls or Fallout but I will always play those games more because of mods and replay value. If this is not fixed right away I will delete all my Mass Effect data and go make some mods for Skyrim. I have never seen Skyrim lock me out the Main Menu!!!!!!

 I have a very good gamer I play with that boast over 100,000 points on xbox live. In the time I lose not being online he will likely get  1000 achcievements in no time and I will miss out playing with him. There really NEEDS to be some sort of gift given to us that have been locked out of the game. I am very serious about selling the game and not dealing with this anymore. I just upped my gamefly to 4 games and have 2 game coming by Monday. Mass Effect can kiss my interest good bye as I play Resident Evil, SF v Tekken, UFC and mod some SkyRim!

But the thing that I really do not understand about this bug is that I am able to play multiplayer from disc 2 (although it freezes every single time during a multiplayer at the moment) but when I start my Xbox360 with the internetcable unplugged and without signing in to my profile I still get the black screen when using disc 1?

How is this possible if it is a problem with the profile and the EA/Microsoft servers?

Have you seen the video? Im having the exact same problem as that guy.  I played online using another gamertag, and it works, but mine does not. 

I tried playing offline with my main GT, and it FREEZES.

What do you mean?  That after this crap is fixed all of us will get access to the packages?


I'd love to play MP, BUT I STILL SEE A BLACK SCREEN For $80 I paid for my CE.

 I am here to throw my name into the casualty list...  I've been following this thread for about a week now, right after the black screen of death happened to me for the first time.

I've spent 12-15 hours on the phone with both EA and MS customer support, with no resolution and little feedback.  I gave EA CS permission to access my GT on their 360 at the call center.  They told me the game locked up for them as well.

I love this game and franchise, but am supremely dissatisfied with the customer support!  

An EA CS rep did confirm with me they are working on a patch and that it will be release "soon."  Whatever that means.

Whats the number to EA's CS?  I've only sent them emails and did that live chat thing on EA.com.  But didn't find a phone number.

I was thinking about letting use my GT as well, looks like you did it already, and BAM they froze up too....

Well at least thats something. We had no idea at all if they were working on a patch or even really knew about the bug. I guess we just palying the waiting game now...
