Adding my name to the casualty list, had this problem since Tuesday and have been lurking here since,

It does kinda suck about not being regularly updated but I do understand the difficulties of fixing bugs, especially if you can't replicate them, Just got to be patient...

I for one am re-completing ME1 then will do ME2 and have a fresh import for ME3 when it's working again

Come on, Bioware, gives us something, ANYTHING. I too, will be lurking here every ****ing day until this garbage is addressed.

Way to ****** off consumers in general, in addition to fans. Started playing ME1 in 2008. This is not fair, and a stab in the back. I have an $80 coaster here. This is not what people who preordered a CE should be dealing with.

I really don't know where You find that. I log in in my EA/Origin account and I don't have any messages or anything like that or I just don't see it...

I go to EA.com. Then click your name. And you can see your "Personas" aka what IDs you have linked to which consoles.

Mine are normal, just has my gamertag for the 360. I don't see how this has anything to do with this gods awful black screen.

So now we LURK all damn week waiting for EA to fix this debacle. Disgusting.. I thought I hated Acti-Villain the most, the longer this lasts I may change that.

I wrote to EA 30 minutes ago. I wrote about a problem and told them that the delete corrupt game save files, changing option to default, changing xbox gametag, reinstall game - isn't work. 5 minutes ago I opened email with answer:

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties, and apologize for any inconvenience.

Sometimes certain configurations can conflict with your game. Set any controller, sound, and video settings to their default setting. This can be done by deleting the game's settings information from the hard drive. Try playing the game again.

This could also be an issue involving corrupt game save files. You will need to remove game related save data by following the below given steps.

1. Power on the Xbox without a game disc inside to display the Xbox dashboard.
2. Select Memory and press A
3. Select Hard Disc and press A
4. Scroll through the save games until you find your specific game.
5. Press the A button while selecting a files to delete them.
6. Confirm deletion when prompted.
7. Repeat until you no longer see any of the game files left on the Xbox hard disc.
8. Restart system with game inside. Try running your game again.

This issue can also be due to any NON-OFFICIAL Peripherals connected to your console. Please unplug all non-official peripherals connected to your console. The easiest way to ensure this is to unplug any peripherals except for the official licensed controllers that came with the system. This includes any memory cards or network adaptors. When the console is starting up it will calibrate the controllers. Do not move the thumb sticks or press any of the buttons until the EA logo appears.

Example of non-licensed equipment manufacturers: Nyko AirFlow, MadCatz MicroCon, Mad Catz Dual Force 2.

If the issue persists, try clearing console cache, follow these steps:

1. Locate the System section of the Xbox 360 Dashboard.
2. Select Memory, select Hard Drive, and then press Y to view the device options screen.
3. On the Controller, press the X, Left Bumper, and Right Bumper buttons in this order: X, X, LB, RB, X, X
4. You will be prompted to confirm system maintenance, select Yes by pressing A.

I did the same thing btw.  Emailed EA.  Got more generic replies from outsourced, oversees, fools who don't know anything else.   I may post a transcript of my emails and the Live chat later on.  Totally useless..

ON top of that, in the generic reply email.  When he said:

"3. On the Controller, press the X, Left Bumper, and Right Bumper buttons in this order: X, X, LB, RB, X, X"

The 360 doesn't even do that anymore!

I wrote to EA again. I told them that nothing help. Now on my email I have another answer.

Well as expected finishing the iOS app infiltrator didn't get the game running but I said I would and I'm reporting (unlike bioware) on my attempts to get us all able to play the damn game

Bioware, can you give us anything? The post about the Academy glitch has dozens of Bioware posts. And that's only for a single mission- this is for THE ENTIRE GAME! Give us a little something, please!

I sent a PM to the Bioware guy who gives the updates about the Academy glitch. I didn't know at the time there was a larger issue and I thought I had just an alternate version of that same bug. He messaged back saying the Academy Bug was a different issue and that he wasn't aware of any gamertag bug being worked on. 

Keep in mind this was over a week ago...but still...

Oooooh, they escalated me to the "Concern Department" this time instead of a vague "Higher Department." They now said that the response time is 1-2 weeks, what complete BS.

Insulting me too, saying "I am sorry to say Alex, but you may need to wait for this time." Implying that I had never waited for a response from the "We don't give a Sh*t Department," when I never got a reply from them to begin with. Or the fact that I've already been waiting 9 days.

Trying to get this guy to get me to his supervisor/superior, I don't know if it's gonna work

Yeah they've switched to the 1-2 week line.

Which I took as meaning they plan to START working on it some time this week.

At the least though Bioware needs to get ahold of EA and tell them to stop advising people to switch gamer tags names (800 points) and stop advising people to deleting saves (doesn't help).

That is just going to infuriate people who will than have a broken game, and on top of it lose 10 dollars plus saves.

Also when/if they actually start working on it, they need to post some updates on here. This is now the industry standard with game crushing bugs. This isn't 15 years ago. The CS so far to me has been antiquated and awful.

The bright spot has been some QA mods on here that have tried to be helpful. But that's them being nice guys, going out of their way. These things should be standard company practices.

Hello everyone,

If you are able, please try this workaround and let me know if this resolves the issue:

Launch the game. When ME3 is trying to connect to the EA servers (just before the point it would freeze), press the Guide/PS button on your controller (doing this puts the login in a background process). Do not press anything on this screen, but allow the game to proceed with connecting.

If you are able to get past the black screen freeze and proceed in-game, please post back.
