No havent used any of these. I have an android and so I cant use those iOS apps unfortunately.

Hello everyone,

If you are able, please try this workaround and let me know if this resolves the issue:

Launch the game. When ME3 is trying to connect to the EA servers (just before the point it would freeze), press the Guide/PS button on your controller (doing this puts the login in a background process). Do not press anything on this screen, but allow the game to proceed with connecting.

If you are able to get past the black screen freeze and proceed in-game, please post back.

Yeah didn't work for me either, freezes exactly the same point with the guide up and takes out the guide too - ie everything freezes including the guide menu

As another poster already said, I would be glad to provide my xbox gamertag details to a Bioware employee to test this out.

Haven't decided if it is funny or sad that I got my galaxy at war rating to 99% and it is tanking while I'm unable to play the game. I was actually having fun playing MP and wanted to beat SP but now I think this may get traded in towards the new Resident Evil.

Yeah Withcher 2 too soon.  If I trade into Amazon all together that game will be like 5-10 bucks for me.  

It's great too, played it on my laptop....which isn't a gaming laptop....and doesn't really do "graphics" at all....and it was still fun. 


has it already been 12 days since this started happening.....damn.

Not because it was bad mind you. But because this glitch wouldn't let me.

Meh might do a renegade play thru on a different gamer tag and then just turn the game.

I'd rather have something that I can actually play than something I can't. Can always pick up ME in a year if it's ever fixed.

I would think this falls under EA warranty if u connect EA should be able to get a full refund considering they state in the warranty that the game is free from defect which it obviously isn't

it may just be a coincidence but I played a ton (10-15 hours) of multiplayer at the weekend before the game reached the permanent freeze mode on sunday afternoon and I had unlocked a bunch of achievements also like the one to do with completing all the online missions, getting 100% readiness and more

the game did freeze crash on me during multiplayer, so I dont know if somehow that helped leave some kind of file somewhere corrupt.

total time I played game is 50+ hours, and before the crash it worked flawlessly on my xbox 360. now its permanently broken if I am logged in as my gamertag, even offline.

I played 30h (single player). Before freeze I was connecting to multiplayer (talking in Xbox live party), then my Xbox caught a freeze. I reset my console and after that... yes black screen of death.

Strange. I got it while loading the multiplayer shop. And I too had logged many hours online. Even got my galactic readiness up to 100%. 
In terms of the campaign I had just seen the traditional pre-final mission romance scene. So i dunno, 45+ hours.

oh man what irony, in preparing for 100% readiness in single player we ended up like icarus and losing it all

I'm trying to keep it going with the datapad app! I just maxed out my fleet and I'm looking to get my readiness back into the low 90%.

In case anyone from bioware is reading this, I can confirm that creating a new xbox profile does make the game work correctly (no freeze). When I try and sign in with my original profile, it freezes.

The huge problem with using a new profile is that I lose access to my saves. If I start a brand new ME3 campaign then some of my favorite characters in the game are dead, one in particular is a deal breaker to me. Thats not to mention the problems of getting a new online pass etc.

Yeah we've established it's gamertag specific. You don't need to create a new GT- even if you have other old ones on your Xbox it'll work. And it doesn't matter if you're connected to Xbox Live or not. Sucks.

But I started having this problem somewhere semi-around the time I deleted some stuff from my memory card. Nothing essential, but meh. Doubt this is relevant at all, but I'll try anything like I said.



Edit: Also, any chance we could get an update on this? The other thread gets like a dozen Bioware posts a day. We have two, neither of which give us any actual hope. It would be nice to be told what's going on.

Nope no deletes.

I think it has a small chance of happening any time someone freezes at a loading screen.

As others said. Same issue here! Even when I'm offline, it freezes. I use a different GT. It works.
Been playing since launch, started on saturday for me. Any word from ANYBODY yet around here?

I rarely, if ever play games online. The game isn't attempting to connect to the EA servers, nor did it attempt to connect to the EA servers when it first initially crashed because I don't have my XBox connected to the internet at all times, the suggestion doesn't apply. But I gave it a shot, and the guide screen comes up and automatically freezes, anyway.

Can I have another suggestion and/or my game back?

I'm abhorred by this lack of response. They just gonna leave it like this because it hasn't happened to them yet? Just like how CS emails you from their "We don't give a **** department" And tell us to "Clear the cache" when NOTHING has been working so far, as others have said?

After more than a week of trying to get through to EA with no success. When earlier today, I was contacted by Kenny Benedict, EA, Executive Relations. Will hopefully get a call from him tomorrow, and sort all this out.

Should know more tomorrow, will update with news.

Hey good work there.  How did you get through?  All I got was those EA game advisors on EA.com help.  What did you do to get their attention?
