Mark me down as another Black Screen victim as of midnight Pacific Standard Time!!

1.  Game crashed while loading a "Resume" game.
2. Turned off the Xbox and restarted.
3.  Got the EA Logo, Earth Picture, and BLACKNESS....NOTHING BUT BLACKNESS......

Live Chat with EA Help did not improve anything; reset cache, reset modem, etc.

BIOWARE / EA PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!!! ITS THE WORST BUG IN VIDEO GAME HISTORY!!! :pinched:

Sorry but I must say this. Ea technical support seems to be stupid, they they aren't reading my but they are answering. I wrote them (2 times) that clear cache and delete save games isn't work. It is their next reply:

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts again.

I appreciate your interest in Mass Effect 3 and assure you that I will try my best to resolve this crashing issue. You need to clear cache and delete save game files. For your convenience, I am providing you the steps.

XBOX Clear Cache:

Let’s first try to clear your console cache, this can sometimes cause issues with game. To remove these files, follow the steps mentioned at the below given link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971755

Delete game save files Xbox 360

Corrupted game files can sometimes cause a faulty online connection. To remove these files, follow the steps below: 1. Start your console with the game disc out so it launches into the Xbox Dashboard.
2. Select the System blade.
3. Select Memory and press the A button.
4. Select Games and press the A button.
5. Select your game and press the A button.
6. Delete all files for the game.
7. After following these steps re-launch the game and try to go online.
Note: deleting your game save file would reset your offline game progress and you would need to play the game from start.

In case of any further questions, please feel free to get in touch with us anytime. Alternatively, please visit us at www.help.ea.com.

Regards,

Rubul

Just checking in. Letting them know I enjoy my $80 black screen. I'm gonna be dancing alone at a club till this is fixed. Doing the awful shuffle.. Like Godof said, I may also consider filing a FTC complaint. Never have before.

Is everyone here using xbox? anyone with PC version trouble?

also, can you import pc ME2 files without restriction? I am thinking of playing through ME1 and ME2 to create my ME3 import, but I dont want the same issue as xbox where if my GT gets corrupt I am screwed from importing.

So....no word yet. What a cluster ****. Last time I played ME3 was on thursday, 2 days after release. Gotta say I'm really sick and tired about all this alternate ending talk. I'd like to be able to experience it for myself. At least they can play the game.

No timeline yet for a fix or compensation? How this game got through QA is beyond me. It's closing in on 2 WEEKS now for my black screen. Hopefully Witcher 2 will not suffer the same BS.

Apparently they never triggered that issue with their gamertags. Who knows.

I maintain Bioware is completely lost on this issue. I found an old thread about this exact problem in the original Mass Effect for the computer. Apparently the problem was a corrupted sound file that should have been played during the start-screen. Because it was corrupted, the game couldn't continue. I wonder if this is a similar problem? Doubt it, but its certainly strange...

Doesn't matter, they should still know what the game is attempting to do with the gamertag at that point.

It seems the few are becoming the many!

I'm unhappy to report I'm now a fully fledged member of the Xbox black screen crash. It seems some people are taking it worse than others though with threatening law suits etc. Which is pretty ludicrous.
Dont get me wrong I'm pretty p****d off myself and getting more so every time another day passes and STILL no word from the Devs.
For me that's they're worst sin (second only to the bug itself obviously). I accept that a patch takes time and can only imagine how busy they are with fixing this and all other bugs, but to not give us any news/updates or any correspondence at all is simply shocking customer relations.

Sort it out BioWare

Although it makes me sad that more and more people are experiencing this glitch, it kinda makes me hopeful that its finally going to get bioware off their butts and do something about this

  Lol when I see your pic I keep thinking of Morlan in ME1.

"Welcome to MORLANS FAMOUS SHOP! I have very good things, you will see!"

Haha I wish I could see if he was still kicking in ME 3.

Makes it sound like they only a few people working on the game's issues and only working on one issue at a time.  It's most definitely going to be a LONG time before this gets fixed.

Unfortunatly that's the way it works in the industry, once the title is released, 98% of the development team moves on to the next project with only a handful of people left to work on patches and DLC.

They should be focusing on this bug in my opinion, for example let's say they fix this Grissom Academy bug, it won't matter if it's fixed if you can't play the game!

yeah the devs need to put some better error trapping in the game, because myself had 50 hours of flawless playing before the 100% freeze error (ie game unplayable now for GT which is needed for my saves)

I wanted to buy any multiplayer content coming out, like they one they already announced with geth engineers

try {
loadGamertagProfile();
...
} catch (Exception e) {
display("Corrupt File");
emailBiowareCorruptFile(file);
}

We are getting more and more with this problem, but how many of us that have this problem finds it here? And how many does a post? Or send a complaint to EA/BW. I myself was at first not going to type anything here nor send a mail to the support, as I thought that people already noticed this and made complaints, but then they maybe don't take it that seriously if it only are a "few" with this problem that contact them, so instead of just sitting and just reading about this, Imade a post earlier and also sent a form with EA help site to register this problem. Hope that you who just keeps reading this, make a post and make your voice heard too and also send a complaint to EA/BW support..

Curious question... I know in the ME3 face thread, there was an issue with faces not properly importing from ME1 imports to ME2. There was a workaround that required extracting the save file from a USB thumb, etc. I'm not familiar with the program, but is it possible to extract that save, and recompile it attached to a DIFFERENT gamertag? If so, could somebody with this bug test that out and see if the save jacks up that GamerTag or just the one you're using?

The end of the month is coming up, lets see what happens. Can't believe 2 weeks are going to pass without playing ME3. I got maybe a couple of hours of gameplay before this crap happened.

I love you bioware and I always will, but I think it's time we start seeing other people.

What they may not understand is that by the time they acknowledge that this is a legit problem plenty of us will have moved on to other games with no intention of coming back to ME3 any time soon or at all, and will have bad memories of this the next time they release a game. I've never been part of any game breaking problem like this but it is interesting to see how it will be handled and at least there is some camaraderie among those affected.

Demands of a refund or lawsuit are funny but that's way overboard IMO. Would we have a basis? Dunno. How hard would it be for someone to post in these forums they they are investigating the growing # of complaints of this problem? Silence only makes it worse.
