X-Box is a **** to patch. Maybe they'll make an exception since it's preventing people from playing the game, but... yeah. I'm personally glad I've barely messed with Single Player. But, multiplayer has its own share of issues.

I've played more than one game on the box that got patches for bugs a week or two after release.

He is right that releasing patches to the consoles takes time.  Since Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo have to certify it themselves.

Once QA says that the fix is ok, then we have a fix that is ready to be
made available. So we have to send the fix to the EA certification team.
They test it for an amount of time. Then it has to go to a first-party
(Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, etc.) certification team. They test it for
an amount of time.

Wrold_Bearer, I can understand how you feel.  But I think that this is a vast improvement over simply beating our heads trying to get through to basic support.  Who tell us to do thing we've already done numerous times.  Essentially going over their (basic support's) heads and talking to someone who can actually get results.

ive been having the same problem.. had to re-download my gamertag today and now it works...dont know if this has been tried but im too lazy to read through 24 pages

 Stop using out of date over used burnt out consoles that have been refurbished like 100 times and probably modded .... Porblem fixed :)

Metal, perhaps you didn't have the same issue. This is separate from the game simply freezing.

'Killertiger, I do not use any sort of modifications on my console whatsoever, and the Microsoft approved objects such as XBL Adapter or memory cards or controllers? I have tried removing those. Those are not the issues.

I'm stuck between a black screen or an all out freeze at the start screen.... played it fine 5 hours ago but not now....

And apparently it is an issue with the profile... seems to boot up fine on the 360 until the profile is signed in... really EA... really?

No one ever said they where using  a modded Xbox, or a burnt out console, or 100 Times refurbished Xbox. Take your hate else where.

Nope, you don't need to delete your profile. Just sign out, go to the Dashboard and use the login screen from there, then you should have an option to Download Profile. Once you hit that, just follow the prompts which include entering your Live ID and Password associated with your Gamertag and then it will download your profile again!

Hopefully this might fix the problem. Worth a try at least.

Edit: I should add that everyone else should try redownloading their XBL profile as well, and then rebooting the game to see if it fixes the issue. I don't have the issue so I won't know, but it's probably worth a try to see if that fixes the problem.
