This happened to me today. Black screen of death.. EA could not fix on the phone after 2hrs . Told me to use another gamertag and replay the mass effect series and rebuy all DLC. Can't wait for a fix

We are still investigating this - We have received a very large amount of support from BSN users but are looking for some different information now. If you could take the time to send me the following information it would be greatly appreciated (on top of what has already been requested):

- What were you doing in the last play session before the crash (MP, SP, level, etc.)?
- Did you crash or make a save during your last play session?
- Do you recall any odd behavior during your last play session (temporary errors, anything out of place/acting weird)?

mine worked perfect yesterday. No freezing glitches or crashes. I only played multiplayer. I turned it on today to find the black screen of death

In fact when I finished playing everything was working fine this morning... I just finished a MP game and turned off the Xbox when I got back out of the game session. Went back and it has been black screen ever since.

-I did enter the MP menu, worked fine, didn't play any matches at the time.  After turning off the game and restarting.  I got the black screen.

Yeah I played MP the session before the problem occurred too. No glitches during play. Next time I tried to play; black screen.

I'm starting to see a very common denominator.  I had already included this in the original PM I sent in.  But yea, first happened when switching to MP.

1. MP
2. Nope

3. Does the firing range freezing bug count as odd?  If not, then no.

Hatetype, rest assured.  This has been brought to their attention, and is being worked on.  If you don't believe it, I can post screens of the emails themselves.  There has been more progress with this issue in the last 3-4 days, than in the time since this was first posted.

EDIT:  In case anyone wanted it, my GT is the same as my forum name.

Something like this may have happened to me. I was going for the achievement for getting 100 melee kills. Didn't pop for me, and the next day, got the black screen. Maybe the file attached to achievements is causing the crash.

im glad to know im not the only one. I've been sending direct tweets to @masseffect and they are aware of it too. We will all have to play some multiplayer together after this is fixed

I had a similar incident too.  I PM'd Abrams that I had some problems with an achievement.

Then like others said, I entered MP and the next time I booted the game I got black.

1. SP - it may help to know I have never played MP (it's seems most have)
2. Yes on the save - no crashes or problems of any type
3. No issues of any type and I was over 25 hours in.

This is honestly ridiculous. It just happened to me too. I'm getting sick of all the bugs in this game. Bioware should have postponed the release a month and gone over the game and checked for any bugs, twice.

- Initially froze during loading screen
- On restart started doing the standard black screen

Hmm.... seems like I was one of the few playing single player when this happened
