There's a sort of camaraderie among among the "regulars" here.Elspoono wrote...
Why do people keep posting gamer tags? I can't even play single or multi, no point adding tags for something i can't play. This issue means i can't play at all, period!
There is no known workaround is there? Its not like you guys are all playing co-op together..?
Sorry but this issue is really really infuriating me

i tried to start the game with the internet turned off. Didnt work. I dont know how some of you have waited this long. Im going insane just after a day
Oh yeah, some of us haven't played in weeks. Its been about two weeks for me now. Others have had it worse. Some on this thread haven't played almost at all. Its a long-term problem aparently
Thats BS !! I'm literally fighting the Cerberus bad guy, so close. Shouldn't be more than two weeks?!!! How can you be so patient. I'm 2 hours away from getting "stabby"!
A bug can happen, but a bug that completely stops the product functioning is really unnacceptable. If such a bug takes more than 2 days to solve, its beyond unacceptable. I write software etc and understand verification processes, but you have create workarounds for the affected people until your longterm solution passes verification. Understandably there can be some problems where workarounds aren't possible. But i'd like to think they get considered.
This just isn't "i can't do a mission" or "the necks or eyes are broken", this is "CAN'T Play at ALL". Such huge issues need immediate solutions, temp or permanent.
The ability to do workarounds all depends on the problem. I write code that controls industrial coal ports etc. Now alot of the time in order to fix a bug i would need to take the entire port offline (which not possible). So i create a copy of the back end for the affected systems to use instead, allowing them to be fixed without shutting down unaffected systems. So the majority of the port might be running version A of my system but temporarily the bug affected parts are running version B until i'm able to shut down the plant and sync them up to B. This is an example of solving a problem permanately for the future but at the same time allowing bug affected systems some degree of functionality in the immediate short term.
Purley hypthetical scenario; for game disabling bugs; what i'm trying to say is that its not good enough to solve the problem and sit and wait 3 weeks for your solution to reach your customers. You also need to address it immediately whereever possible.
For instance, lets say its found to be the EA accounts or some other backend . The longterm fix requires a new rollout of the back end aswell as EA/MS certifications etc and will take weeks.
One possible solution is to say rev up your test server etc to run the new version that your'e waiting for verification to fully rollout. You make All affected accounts point to that server; unfortunatly they can't play multiplayer or acheivements etc... but at least they can play single player.
But it may cause them to not be able to play other EA games; heres the trick. You give your customers that option to choose.
Sorry again, but weeks......! Just give me a workaround to let me play my SinglePlayer Offiline. Please....

I know it hurts. It was pretty bad on this thread for the first week or so. Really, with Bioware actually posting and responding to our PM this last week has had a lot more progress. The first week none of us could even get Bioware to respond to our e-mail tickets or anythng. Being patient it really all we had. That or return the game; some have done that.
I preordered back in November, so I can wait a full extra month. I have faith ME3 will eventually be fixed.

I can't believe that it's actually been weeks since this has been reported... I hope to hell that we either get some sort of compensation or one bloody good explanation as to why this happened. This game has been nothing but trouble since even before it was shipped.
Here is what I spent on this title
Kinect - £119
ME 3 N7 CE - £70
Prima Guide - £15
DLC mp packs approx - £30
Not being able to play the game due to this bug.... PRICELESS!
£234 because I am a fan of the game and now I can't play. NOT HAPPY!
Edit: I preordered back on July 13th 2011... Hate to say this but after being burned on DA2 and now ME3 I will think twice about pre-ordering Bioware stuff. Oh for the days of the Old Republic on original Xbox... at least the damned game WORKED.

I'm also wary because BioWare (or Microsoft) might have a backup of our last known 'working' ME3 profile info, and whatever fix they come up with might reset any progress back to that backup profile.
Anyways, I submitted my info to Thomas via PM. I did do a Quick Save right before it crashed - anyone else Quick Save (Select button) before a crash? I was just in front of the Galaxy Map on the Normandy (hadn't clicked the map yet though).

It wasn't another Gamertag. It was a extensive process that required file editing software and uploading your gamertag to you computer and manually rewriting any corrupted files. It was too much work for me, but Resante put in the time. Props.
tbh it's easy the way he laid it out (props) but I'm not so tech savvy and I'd hate to get a MS ban for mucking up my profile in someway.

As others have said, they know the symptom they just need to find the cause. I would expect that's the easy part. Use the good old compiler debugger and the memory watch, while stepping through the code. Resante has done the hard part
AGAIN THANK YOU RESANTE:innocent:

Any more news? I recently beat I Am Alive. That was real depressing. Didn't help me feel any better lol.
I just got Resident Evil and it sucks. I'm now becoming concerned that this issue is going to be very difficult to fix. They even admit that they had no repro steps before Resante showed them whats up. But to QA's credit, what Resante did is not something that QA normally knows about. What other game has this ever occured on!?

Did anyone else notice the line "
For now you'll just have to play it safe and play soft...because playing too hard just might break the game "
Props to all the hard playing gamers that got this.
