I don't what country you come from but you can bu USB drives are service stations, supermarkets and all sorts of places here in Australia and their like $5 or something. If you don't have that try busking 1st to get enough change, or shake down some school kids.

I appreciate your shortened steps, but as for the USB, I have 2 problems.

1) I'm broke
2)  Even if I had money, I'm on a ranch up the mountains. I'd need to go downtown to get anything like that.

Kill a goat, plug its horns into the usb. 

Not only will you get to play ME 3 but the devil will give you a nice guitar for your troubles.

And btw internal memory refers to the on board flash mem that some 360's have, like mine. Arcade models have up to 512 MB built in.

Okay...so without that...how do I get Horizon to access my profile so I can delete these .gpwhatever files?  If I have to just directly connect my xbox hard to the comp or something, I'm terrified of that putting my comp back into permanent bluescreen (It miraculously decided to turn on this morning out of the.....blue)

You have to move your profile to the usb flash drive... if your profile is on internal xbox storage you can go to storage and move it to the flash drive. If your profile is already on usb you're good to go on that step. To anyone doing this, make sure to back up all of the files on the flash drive and anything you change.

Well it's just on the Xbox's Hard Drive, and I don't have any USB...soo...what then?  I have a portable computer hard drive...will that work? I use it as a USB all the time.

I have the old style 360 and the hdd is just a laptop hdd in an enclosure. If you have this style you can remove the drive from the enclosure and connect it to your pc via sata... I have no experience with the newer 360s so not sure if this is possible with those. Personally I wouldn't do this and would try to obtain a usb flash drive.

Workaround went swimmingly.

Now to watch the ending everyone hates so much, it caused a company to rethink their own artistic intent!

..I've supported BioWare through a lot.. even had nothing overly bad to say about DA2 and ME3's contentious ending....

..but this? This might just be the last straw.

..especially as the gorram game loads just FINE except on my profile.....

So have we just given up on Bioware ever releasing a fix for this? Seems like a lot of gamers are doing the 'self-fix' route. I mean cool if you get it done, but is the thought process just "Bioware is not going to fix this. We must fend for ourselves?"

I'm not tech savy in the least. I'd hate to just never play ME3 again...

They just started on a fix last week. It will probably be at least a week before they make the patch and another one to two weeks to certify it with Microsoft. Of course that's also if we get our own patch instead of waiting even longer for BioWare to make a cumulative fix patch like they were talking about.

 ALRIGHTY, a quick trip to CVS for a 4gb usb drive, and I'm back online with Mass Effect!

Got my two packs

The one pack only had a shotgun blade attachment (great for the Krogan soldier), and a Viper II (I will never use that)

Got the Valient sniper rifle N7 weapon.  JUST short of being useful for my QI, but great for my TS.

Now I just hope I don't get in trouble for fixing it myself, later on.

If you do get in trouble for it just threaten to sue Bioware for not supplying a fix in a reasonable amount of time. This problem has been reported for over three weeks now. You aren't trying to get access to what you shouldn't have... you are just repairing what is broken.

Well it'd be MS that bugs you not bioware.....because it effects achievs.

On polish game website I found a news about patch. Chris Priestly confirmed that the patch would fix face import error. At present it is being tested. They will show us date of publication when patch will rank the certification process. He didn't say anything about black screen...

without any estimates for timelines I'm gonna play through ME1 and ME2 on a new gamertag

If I reach the end of ME2 and there is still no patch then I am gonna ask if I can be comp'ed online pass and from ashes considering I bought 360 CE new and its now 100% broken

LOL.  Good job.

Honestly fixing this stuff myself felt like launch day again, as someone else said.

But I wasn't as bothered by the ending, just glad I can experience it myself from this point on.  I am very interested in the DLC now though, and how BW will clear things up regarding the ending.

Im getting tired of waiting for Bioware to fix this unacceptable glitch & i wanna try out the patch method made by Resante. But i cannot find the XDBF Tool to download except from 360 Haven. Can someone please upload XDBF Tool please, so i can also escape the black hole.
