Somewhere in the late 90s though they changed, it seemed like when they got their hooks in everything and started buying all the little guys things got worse. The NFL license deal that stopped 2K from making NFL 2K and then the Take-Two fiasco made me realize it is all about the money and stifling the competition. They still make and publish some good games but I just don't like seeing their name everywhere.

I'm trying to get into contact with Kenneth again. Since Bioware obviously tossed this issue to the curb, and is hoping we'll quietly go away. Hopefully he'll have something... anything for us.
I really hope they haven't just ignored us. With all the controversies with DLC and the ending, the last thing Bioware needs is to be seen as ignoring customers. I dont think they're ignoring us in hopes we go away; I just think they have no idea how to fix this problem. Well, at least on an official mass scale. The home fixes just seem too risky for me.

Also I sent a Tip to consumerist.com with a link to this Thread, Telling them are story and how we have had little help with this problem from EA/ Bioware.

I remember back in the early to mid 90s EA put out some of the best games. Madden, NBA Live, Road Rash, the old NFS games, the first few TW golf games and Fight Night later on.

I've been playing EA games since Bard's Tale. Loved that game at the time. Looking back on it now it just shows how games have improved. Those dungeons in the game were like... Cubism heh. God... 27 years.

..BioWare.. you're better than this. Or you were. Buy back your soul, folks. Fix this issue. You think the DLC and ending whining is bad? How long before this gets bad enough to get reported to big outlet news sites? And what then?
I hate to embrace the cliche, but this? Yeah, its putting a huge gaping.. black hole in the chances of me rushing out to preorder games at collector's edition rate no less, in the future, or even pick up at all. This? This is a huge violation of trust and an amateur mistake of QA of staggering proportion.
And you need to fix it. Now. It's been fixed by third-party means, you can fix it too. Stop investigating, get to work.
Simple, really.
It's tragic.. your reputation (EA's, at least) was terrible.. then they seemed to be getting better, and we could all call Activision the Great Satan of electronic gaming.. but now you seem to want to retake the throne again.
I don't care about unpopular endings (it was fine enough by my standard); I don't care about Day one DLC (I got it anyway because I paid for a colelctor's edition, and would have gotten it anyway -- I consider whiners about that to just be being obnoxious for no good reason).
But when I can't play the game I paid eighty bucks for, plus a few bits for Spectre Packs because I enjoyed the product and wanted to encourage more DLC.... that stops being whiny internet entitlement and becomes a severe blaring problem that you need to have fixed before the game was released.
Yet it's over a month, now, and still nothing.
You should be ashamed of yoruselves, and you best do better in the future or you'll find yourselves irrelevant, which s seething as I am about this fiasco, I'd still call a tragedy.

Have they not even seen the community fix at all? That should give them a definate area to start and it's only three files. Shouldn't be hard if they have more than one person working on it. Since, you know, one person found where the issue was to begin with.JustinSaneV2 wrote...
Wait... so they're still investigating the issue!? As in they still haven't even begun to start working on a fix!?

Hey look it's the same stuff we've been hearing from 3 weeks ago....great.
I can honestly say there's no way in hell I'd purchase another Bioware game. I've been gaming a long time and for a company that was what Bioware USED to be to act like a 3rd POS clueless dev. team is just to see.
I mean....it's the freaking start screen.....seriously it's UNPLAYABLE. And this is what we get.....more we'll get back to you on that.
Seriously, I don't even want more generic updates on this, I want a Yes/No can the game be fixed, if option 1 than fix the thing and compensate those of us who waited months for this game to have it break a couple days later with some free dlc. if option 2 then tell us so we can get refunds, which you are entitled to give us for your broken product.

They know about the fix because Resante sent them the darn thing and on one of these pages a Bioware guy said thanks and that it gave them a place to start. I am STILL amazed they haven't hotfixed it so players can get back into the game even though it might happen again.
Perhaps the community fix is actually being classed as a good temporary fix so they don't need to rush.

Or they can't fix it without resetting everyone's achievs progress which they won't do.
Or they are waiting to bundle patch it rather than pay to patch it with the end of April dlc everyone says is coming.

Fixing it is easy, finding the root of the problem... might not be. And like you said, doing so without resetting the achievement progress is the key.

What do you mean "pay to patch" it? That it would cost less to bundle it with DLC?
