@masseffect Whilst the black screen error isn't mentioned in the patch list for next week, does this mean there's no fix coming soon?
Mass Effect - @masseffect
@capnraccoon We are definitely still looking into this
It's something at least.
Notice how it's still "we're looking into it" and not "we're working on a fix".Capn Raccoon wrote...

To hell with this. I'm doing the Resante fix on Tuesday when I get home and if they want to ban me or give me grief for it then they can go ************************** as they should have got off their arses and fixed it themselves in a timely manner instead of indirectly telling us to go **** ourselves since our problem is of little to no concern to them.
Up until now I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every BioWare's single-player sci-fi offering but if this is how they are going to be treating their customers who have legitimate problems with their product then I hope EA runs the company into the ground like they have with many great developers of old.
I might be slightly over-reacting but this is one of (if not the worst) the worst customer service I've ever experienced

It certainly it frustrating on a level that is staggering in this day and age. I really wouldn't care if it took six months to test and fix, but if Bioware simply told us that, it would all work out. Its not so much the lack of fix, its the lack of attention and replies from Bioware.

What is the Resante fix for this bug?
http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/345/index/9948071All bugs are investigated by the team and are prioritized in a process called triage. Bugs are triaged based on how important they are to the game and how many people are encountering them. This means an issue can be extremely important if it effects a lot of people OR that an issue that effects a few people, but prevents them from playing the game can both be equally important. The team works to fix as many issues as possible in a given patch process.
think that means our bug should be at the top of the list. Though its true that face imports are a very important issue that is WAY more serious and dameging then our little bug.JustinSaneV2 wrote...

I had forgotten all about that completely BS post. If they're "equally important," you'd think they'd have fixed it by now, but this just goes to show you Biowares true colors. They don't give a sh*t, because they already have our money.JustinSaneV2 wrote...

I don't see how they can release DLC while some consumers are completely incapable of playing their game. It's fantastic to see new content coming down the pipeline, especially without charge, and yet disappointing to not truly be able to enjoy it. This bug affects more than just those who are stuck in the black hole; I can't enjoy my game online, which is completely bug free, because my friends are stuck in the black hole. Thanks for the free stuff guys, but a patch for this needs to be top of the list of priorities.

MISSION UPDATE:
PRIORITY: Bioware Headquarters.
"-Assault Casey Hudsons base (Illusive Man)"
"-Retrieve VI containing the PATCH"
Optional: Search and rescue Ray Muzyka. Kai Leng may have already killed him. As Leng had complained about his copy getting a black screen defect..
=P Have a good weekend.

on a side note, i did the thing where ea contacts me and i had the guy look up these forums and see all 60+ pages of complaints. he was needless to say shocked, funny he never herd of this bug before i contacted him, he said he was so shocked he will immideatly put this up his food chain to his boss because in his words, this is unacceptable, we will only hope he ment it and wasn't trying to just playcate me to get me off the phone

This mess is frustrating, and I hope your update brings good news, but I feel like bioware/ea are starting to get the picture. They both took a ton of flak for the prothean stunt and their choice of game endings, and now we have two free DLC's coming at us. They're trying at least. We should try making nice; I'm confident it will get us better results faster. I understand that the big picture is always making money and keeping us happy now will lead to us buying more product in the future, but at least they aren't blatantly cheating us anymore. Try to keep positive guys and I'm sure we'll get positive back from them.tykimykk wrote...

On a side note: Recieved a response from Kenny regarding an email I sent him a few days ago. I had to clarify something for him, so it's not the actual reply I was looking for. But I should *hopefully* have an actual update for everyone on Monday about this.
