Ok Bioware, it's Monday...what was that update you said would come out today?

They're too busy prepping their DLC for tomorrow.  Fixing our problem would cut into any profits that are going to be generated by the new DLC.

DLC is free though, and will have its own packs.  I never spend real money on packs, I can make good credits as I play Silver alot.  I'll be getting this tonight.

Extended Cut dlc is also free.

To receive the new DLC content one must purchase packs.  A LOT of people purchase said packs with real money.  Fixing our problem apparently requires an extraordinary amount of time and resources.  Time and resources end up costing a company money.

The "extended cut" DLC gives EA/BioWare more media attention and therefore, in theory, generates more sales from curious people.

Yes, thats what I meant in my other post, the in game packs.  I haven't used real money at all yet, nor do I ever plan to. =]
Regardless, I'm not one of them. Never paid money for any of my spectre or premium spectre packs.

My N7 is 350 as well.

I've already spent about $20 or so I believe but of course I don't plan on dropping any more cash on this game after the shenanigans that EA/BioWare have pulled in regards to this glitch.

Of course I might reconsider if BioWare/EA ever fixes this glitch and finds an extra-ordinary way to compensate us for all the BS that they've put us through...

Hmmm.  why even bother buying it? $20?? why?  Thats way too much IMO.  Could've saved it for real DLC for any game.  Even a COD map pack is "only" $15
Whats your N7 btw?

But curiously, why haven't you fixed yours yet?  I've been playing ever since I did mine.  And I'll be getting the DLC in several hours since I got time tomorrow.

Seriously tho, just do it.  You won't be as pissed anymore like I was.  Its like being constipated for weeks, then you take a wonderful dump!  AAHHHHHHHHHHHH!! :o

Had about $75 or so worth of MSP stocked up from a half-off sale a year or so back and I wasn't doing anything with them so I figured why not.  At the time I figured it was worth it as Mass Effect was one of my favorite gaming franchises and I had been thouroughly enjoying ME3.  Would take it back if I could now that that know what BioWare is really like.

I also have CoD Elite (got it for $20 since I bought the Hardened Edition at launch for $80 due to a pricing mistake on BestBuy.com) but I quit MW3 so it doesn't do me any good

N7 rating is about 180-ish I believe.

And I was planning on doing the fix tonight but apparently my Xbox refuses to work with my USB drive.  Will have to run to the store tomorrow and get a new one.

I kinda like earning the stuff with the points i make in the game so i never used any money on it. I feel a sense of satisfaction when i unlock rare stuff like krogon soldier. Though i'm sure several people will start to buy more packs now that the new DLC is coming. So really the new DLC is a sneaky way of earning more money.

I agree we need to spread the word more

Been submitting the following to various gaming blogs for the past couple of weeks but apparently no one cares:

Mass Effect 3's "Black Hole Glitch"

This glitch has been in existence since the day after the game launched (a MONTH now) and nary a word has been said from BioWare other than "we're looking into it".  Hundreds (if not more) are affected and more people people succumb to with each passing day. We can do little more than stare hopelessly at our $60 coasters and try to do everything in our power not to have the game's plot spoiled thanks to the Internet.  Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated!

"Official" thread regarding the issue on BioWare's forums (was posted the day after the game was released):

Article showing how useless EA Support is regarding this issue:

A post I made showing the minimal  communication from BioWare:

An intrepid community member managed to create a home fix but it seems risky as it involves manually editing files from your profile via a program on a PC. Reportidly easy to do but it could, in theory, possibly result in a ban in the long-run:

Honestly...

I've just been playing Gotham City Impostors.

At this point let me extend a heartfelt "**** You" to all of BioWare and ESPECIALLY all of ****ing EA. THis **** is far FAR beyond the pale of being remotely acceptable in the modern day.

Sure it seems like a small number of people now. SO did the people trampled on by the ****hole I used to work in.. except they told people.. who also told people.. until eventually the company crashed out so hard they couldn't recover because even in the ****ty excuse of a job market, no one would put in an app for such a ****hole place to work.

Disregard "small numbers of people" at your own bloody peril, and ****** the **** off while you're at it for all I care anymore. *IF* I pick up any more of your games, it most likely will NOT be pre-release or snay colelctor's editions.

And again, thank you for showing how much of a **** the new regime at "BioWare" (now to my mind in name only, not the company I loved. That company was Indoctrinated and turned into a husk of itself by the corrupt ****face overlords of EA. All that's dancing around seems to be the grotesque defilement of its earthly remains) cares about loyal customers. Good to know that the amount in question is "not one goddamn ****."

This is where your ignorance and neglect is driving us EA/BioWare.  With each passing day more and more people join our ranks and those that are already affected just become that more pissed off.

This isn't a minor comsetic bug...  THIS IS A DEBILITATING AND GAME BREAKING DISASTER.  Quit hiding, get on the forums/news outlets/media press releases/whatever and communicate with us!  Are you actually working on a fix?  Are you making any progress at all?  Are you even capable of fixing this?

AT THE MINIMUM JUST GIVE US REGULAR UPDATES!

I think Your Dads Husband vanished, into the Geth Collective or something. Haven't seen him post here since, with his big Geth Prime avatar lol. Don't give up the fight people!

Why aren't there any JAVIK avatars yet? That would be perfect for the pissed off users here.. =)

Oh man, seeing all my friends log on to play ME3 with the new DLC maps makes me uber sad.
Also; I'm the guy who wrote the Pixels Or Death article; been trying to spread the word - also been trying to get in contact with PR guys at EA, BioWare and MS, but no reply as of yet.

So on the plus side, you've got a journo' on board with the issue too, every cloud eh' guys? Haha~

hello other black holers. im sure this as already been suggested but i would like to pitch the idea of an EA/Bioware boycot untill either a fix is released or an official announcement of a timeline is released. This would involve cancelling TOR accounts, not playing EA titles like Battlefield and Sports titles. and not seeing the mass effect movie in may. hopefully a fix doesnt take that long but i am not hopeful. Lets force EA and Bioware to take this problem seriously.

I'm not buying any more bioware products for sure.  And why would I.

EA meh....thing is I knew EA sucked at CS when I bought the game...it's like blaming the sun for rising.  It's up to the developing studio to fix things in that corp.

It's actually quite unfair to put the blame solely on BioWare, specifically because it's a publishing error - i.e; it's the clash between the EA login service and the Microsoft one, which is practically proved true due to the fact that the fix requires altering the .gpd file.

It's some what of an unforeseen error that no one could have predicted and If you wanna boycott BioWare and miss out on some of the greatest WRPGs that have graced our consoles and PCs in the past 20 years, then sure, be my guest, but I assure you neither BioWare or EA will care when 20 people skip out on purchasing products.

I will admit it should have fallen to either BioWare or EA to get a much more positive community message out - and/or to reply to our questions about the problem, but the problem's less than graceful handling can't be a reason to boycott a brilliant developer who delivered an immense WRPG space trilogy - nor is it a reason to file an FCC complaint or take them to court as others on the forum were suggesting.

Am I the only one here who suspects that "We're looking into to it" amounts to "We haven't quite acceted that this problem actually exists yet"? Let's face it, with a game that reportedly shipped 3.5 million copies, it can't be too easy to "recreate" a bug which affects only a few hundred (or, mor likely, thousand). It wouldn't amaze me to learn that they were still at that point in the procedings, actually.

Nope.  We're probably just a small sore on their rears that they continually choose to ignore.
