THE PATCH HAS FIXED MY GAME!!!

I don't know why or how but for some reason my game works after the patch! I imagine it's only temporary and that the Black Hole will strike again but for now the game is working!

Congratz! I just tried the patch, and it didn't fix a thing. Is the game still working or has the blackhole returned? Also have you told anyone at Bioware? I'm sure they'd find it interesting.

Unfortunately the patch did nothing for me... still black hole'd as always. It seems your case is an isolated miracle.

i was hearing about a posible ban for using the resante fix. what could they ban you for? and would it be a ban from XBL or just from EA servers.

And it seems the new repeat NEW patch is crashing more games and sending more people into the hole.

The Resante Fix inolved editing files located in your Xbox profile which is against Microsoft's EULA/ToS.

You should have received mine a few hours ago.  ^_^

Any particular info I/we should be providing to you?  Origin/ Xbox Live account info, console IDs, anything of that sort?

And it's hard to say how easy it would be to get it fixed if you do get banned. This situation is fairly unique but Microsoft takes a hard line on anything to do with profiles.

It's not the same as our black hole, though... Apparently the new patch causes the game to freeze at "Connecting to EA servers," unlike the black hole, which freezes before the main menu.

But yeah, the new patch seems to be completely broken. With the exception of JustinSane, whose game was magically fixed, the patch fixes nothing and creates a new game-breaking bug for many people.

When did Bioware become completely incompetent? LOL

Thomas, thankyou for the info. Is it possible for you, or someone else at bioware to give us some kind of regular updates? One of the hardest things for people so far (from what i've seen) is that they've felt alone on the issue and worried that Bioware isn'y even looking into it. Regular reassurances that your working on it, even if it's to say that your still unsure of what's causing it or how to fix it but your trying, would go a long way to helping people cope with the disappointment their game not working.

I hope it doesn't become like fallout were they had to make a patch because there last patch screwed things up. Seemed like everytime they made a patch it would cause some kind of problem and the cycle just wouldn't stop.

Sorry, whats the point of playing the game now when I should just wait however long for the extended cut version. I've moved on bioware from a month ago, giving other games some love now (especially my work). see you again this summer.

Downloaded the new DLC and an update with baited breath but alas, nothing. Bioware, you are a giant c*ck-tease.

To be fair, there was nothing in the patch notes mentioning the black screen, nor did Bioware at any point say that they had found a fix, never mind implemented it with this patch. I'm sure everyone was hoping that something in the patch might have helped resolve the issue, but, that hope was completely on the individual, not Bioware. They did nothing to encourage any of us to believe that this patch would solve the issue.

Edit:

What bothers me at the moment is that the patch seems to have created a new issue that crashes the game when it tries to connect to EA's servers. It seems to be affecting a lot more people than our problem does and of course they're all immediately getting vocal about it. I'm worried that our issue may be less of a priority than this new issue created by the patch, simply because it's new and people are being loud about it. I feel bad for thinking this, but i kinda feel like they should have to wait until our issue is sorted, there's people on here who have been dealing with a broken game for a lot longer than all the vocal patch-casualties. I hope i'm worrying about nothing and that both issues can be sorted without one draining the resources of the other.

I wish I knew what was different in my case that allowed me to play the game once again.  :(
