Dude, just enjoy your working copy . It's great that at least one person has had their issue solved by the patch.
Maybe someone at Bioware will get in touch with you to see if they can figure out what it was that made your's work.
I just know how disappointing it is to be locked out of the game and the fact that, for some unknown reason, I'm the only one in this group to benefit from the patch just seems so disheartening.
The only two answers I can think of as to why my issue was resolved is that either a random fluke caused the patch to work (doubtful) or (more than likely) EA/BioWare is testing out a fix based on Resante's findings. I'm siding with the latter as all of my achievement progress was reset as well as my squad bonus powers and those were listed side-effects of the Resante Fix. I'm really hoping that is the case because that means EA/BioWare now has (or will soon have) the means to fix this problem in a timely manner and I'm sure almost everybody would be willing to sacrifice their current achievement progress in order to play the game again.
Thanks. It's great to be able to play again without having to risk performing the Resante Fix but it's bittersweet in that so far I'm the only one to have escaped the Black Hole "naturally".

omg bioware people are still working on this lol thought they had abandoned us a long time ago. also patch didn't fix my game either but good for u justinsane kill some reaper scum for me
I'll be sure to dedicate my first multiplayer Reaper run to your name.
i was hearing about a posible ban for using the resante fix. what could they ban you for? and would it be a ban from XBL or just from EA servers.
The Resante Fix inolved editing files located in your Xbox profile which is against Microsoft's EULA/ToS.
And it's hard to say how easy it would be to get it fixed if you do get banned. This situation is fairly unique but Microsoft takes a hard line on anything to do with profiles.
They take a hard line on cheating. All this is doing is removing a broken piece of the profile and letting ME3 rebuild it. In fact ME3 alters your profile every time you play the game anyway so in this case I doubt that MS will do anything. After all, it's actually letting us play the game again and NOT SUING THEM for a broken POS so I would think they are being thankful.
Don't see how MS could ban you for this, there is now way they could tell it was YOU editing the file and not the game itself, or the MP server, etc. Bioware could probably determine it pretty easily but it would require a patch to do so, or if they have the data on their servers they could compare it to your sections of the gpd and look for changes, but they couldn't ban you for that because some people have had their stats reset out of nowhere...how would they know it was you and not their other glitch... if you remove the bad parts of the gpd and boot the game while offline/signed out of Live it still fixes it and you can play. The game fixes the file before you connect to their servers.
I also am back in business, worked for me after patch downloaded, and I had my old achievements I had won
I was one of the people that gave bioware full details of my origin account to help fix this bug, so I dont know if thats why some people have luck and some dont.
Wow. I was 16 hours into my new ME2 playthrough under a new gamertag not expecting the patch to work!
Thanks bioware, and hopefully the rest of you guys get a fix in the next update.

Black screen of death for some, blue for others......Has bioware made us black and blue?
Next patch introduces a white screen of death. Then the free summer DLC allows you to choose what colour of screen of death you want, which gives a slightly different cut scene before the game freezes.

Nice! I choose a green screen and a cut scene of the Normandy flying backwards (skyrim reference)

Not even sure they could tell even then... There is a known bug that actually does this by accident.
Basically it's looking like all the random crashes and glitches are trashing the gpd file so trying to find out which players have deliberately hacked their profile to fix the broken thing would be impossible.
Lets face it, the gpd should have a backup made somewhere and when it gets corrupted it should revert to a previous version... but it doesn't do that. Makes it kind of fragile to say the least. But I don't think this problem is all Bioware's fault... The glitches in ME3 are triggering a fatal problem in the lack of fault tolerance of the Xbox 360 profile system.
