Bioware was my favorite dev team, I've spent many days playing the ME series and I even played The Old Republic only because Bioware were the ones who made it. Already cancelled my subscription on The Old Republic because of this, I'm not expecting any form of compensation, we would have received it by now. Anyone who hasn't done the fix yet please don't strain yourself any longer and do the fix.

Just use a friends computer. You could also download the programs, put them on a USB (your profile as well), and just do the fix at a local library.Vermonster wrote...
I can't do the fix because apparently you need a PC. I use a Mac so I guess I'm fvcked. Wish I could though. I'd finish it and then burn it.

If you reallllllly want to try it, you might be the savior for the Mac users... I wonder if you can do it in Boot Camp with the 90 day trial of Windows 7.

*Edit, I forgot that Oracle has Virtualbox for Mac hosts, this would probably be faster and less messy than setting up Boot Camp. https://www.virtualb.../wiki/Downloads

I can understand it taking time to fix a game breaking bug, but this is out of hand. I asked a buddy of mine that works on another development team and according to him if they've yet to fix this it's because either the fix is too difficult, or the time required doesn't justify the resources needed for the small population of affected players.
Wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be the case and when or if it is ever admitted I feel full refunds are in order for those who haven't fixed it themselves. Mark my words, whatever happens it will be messy for one side or the other. If the issue isn't fixed by the next patch I don't plan on giving another cent to Bioware.
No doubt, I probably would of bought this game again for my new pc.
Now I don't on principal,....I could do your fix now ofcourse, but f--- em at this point, plus so many games to play....haven't had a gaming pc in forever.

I think BW could actually salvage a modicum of respect if they released a fix before page 100.

It feels as though this thread is being ignored, if you have any ideas please do pm me. I have a few myself, and feel like we could get the attention we deserve, and the answers we demand. Our voices as one can be heard.
As you've no doubt gathered, the dominant question among those affect by the glitch has been whether or not to do the Resante fix. I have been holding off for a long time on prinicple, but in hindsight, doing it back in March would have given me many many hours of enjoying the game I payed for in the intervening months.
As far as an official fix goes, I wouldn't hold my breath (you'd eventually pass out and wake up with a bad headache).

The fix obviously works, but what I don't understand is why would one get in trouble with Microsoft for doing so? Exactly what policy is it violating and how would anyone get caught? As it has been said before by others, for me is not about doing the fix but the action or rather lack of from BioWare. Has anyone suggested putting some real pressure on them? Anyone complained to the bbb? Writing daily emails to BioWare? Hell, what about writing to the editor of game informer? Wouldn't that get a bit of attention? Of course these are just ideas. Not sure what anyone else thinks.

several people have filled out BBB fourms and justineSaneV2 talked to them reguarding that. not sure about the daily emails I think that was done way back when this was only 50 pages long but they were just ignored. We have tried spreading the news about this bug to several big sites, but I don't think that did much of anything.prothy.the.prothean wrote...

The only thing I can think of is to spam as many of the bioware people as possible demaning weekly updates, that they tell us were they are on the fix, and demanding compensation for those who are unable to do the fix. But this could eaisly have the opposite effect and they could just continue ignoring us and in the worse scenario might drop the fix. But that wouldnt effect us very much since they are already ignoring us and for all we know they might have already droped the fix.
Edit: just reliased that this bug has been around for 3 months. Woot yeah thats just awsome

I have already filed a complaint with the bbb. I wrote to game informer, if enough people do this we might just get some attention. I honestly don't care for a compensation, as long as the problem is fixed within the next week (long shot I know). Of course, we would have to rally up plenty of people again to write to BioWare, file complaints to the bbb and write to game informer. Who knows, this may work. There's strength in numbers, I think if at least 300 people came forward carrying out said actions we could get acknowledged. Plenty have lost faith though, and understandably so..either way I feel as long as we all push something will be done.

I think much of what you're talking about has been attempted at some point. At least one bbb complaint was filed, IIRC, and dilligent efforts have been made to bring the bug to the attention of various online publications. Apart from a write-up on the Xbox achievements site, I'm not aware that any of them came to fruition. Personally, I feel that keeping this thread alive and visible is important if only to maintain the principle that Bioware is responsible for fixing their product.
EDIT: Sorry guys! I actually meant to respond to Prothy's second to last post but didn't realize Freeze and Prothy had already written responses to it. Redundancy, FTW!

Writing to the BBB has basically gotten me nowhere (BioWare apparently doesn't even respond to requests for communication from their employers at EA), I've given up on submitting our story to mainstream gaming news blogs (though we have received attention from smaller ones: #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7), and I've basically given up on BioWare since all they've managed to do in over two months is "investigate" and "discuss" the issue.nokori3byo wrote...

While no one has reported being banned for performing the Resante Fix I would assume that it does fall along the lines of the above bulleted post so I would assume that Microsoft could start banning people if they really wanted to (though I've heard that there should be no way for Microsoft to know you performed the fix).

Wouldn't you call that a bit of progress though? If those sites mentioned the issue..how about trying to get to the bigger ones such as IGN, game informer, hell even maybe G4's X Play (I had their number which did work a few years ago, they probably changed it because of me)
In all seriousness though, the reason I am assuming (I don't know exactly because reading over 50 pages of the thread is a little bit out of the question for me) that the emails did not work is because they are unorganized. How about getting a few hundred people to write twice a day, make phone calls to them in the same manner?
Regarding the BBB situation...I frankly do not know what to say. Atleast you and nokori3byo seem to be convinced it doesn't get us anywhere. Maybe it doesn't. I will still check on my complaint case for the next few weeks. Hopefully I don't have to keep checking on it, and this is fixed (I am too hopefull aren't I?).

I'm afraid you may be right. So, you guys who have not performed the fix yet are just going to wait until BioWare fixes it? That's it? I see why some of you have done it..I might as well do so too. Not much we can do I guess, especially when all I have suggested has been tried in some form without success. I wish there was a way to get a few hundred people to carry out something at once though, I still have faith in numbers and organization. I mean, I've seen it work before on other things. I don't think I am giving up so quickly however, and if anyone decides to help me to somehow rally up a significant amount of people I will be here--checking this thread periodically

bioware doesnt care about who can or cant play their game they only care about their money. so lets hit them in their wallets. class action law suite time. i know a lawer would be begging to take the case if they know how many people are affected by this.
