I was on my second run thru of the game. the first run was at the normal level, the second was at hard. betwween the two run thrus i played online on bronz and got all theaters to 100%
the game started hanging ptrtty close to the end. The romance had just finished ..
i remember exactly when the game hung, let me explain: Every time i had started the game, and the start screen appeared, i would press start buttont. Then a message would come that the "profile has changed" and i would have to press A. the game would restart. i cant remember if it went to the start screen and i had to pust start a second time or if the game just started but in any case it would run after that. anyway, the game hung (went black) after i pused A confirming the "profile cange" and since then has not worked with my profile.
funny thing is. i tried to figure out why it always told me that the profile had changed. i tried everything. changing xbox settings, making sure i was the only on sigend on etc.
me bing the computer freak i am, thought it was hanging because of my xbox. i.e. maybe the drive was going bad so i changed it out with spare parts from my other older xboxes.. didnt work though. thats when i tried using my girlfriends account... and it works.
im really pissed at bioware and ea.... and it takes alot to get me pissed at you beause i love the games you produce. this error is over 3 weeks old. i cant believe you cant get it fixed.
ps i love the ending(s) of mass effect 3 i think you did a hell of a job writting the whole series... now, if only i could play it some more....

I know you've got the same suggestions, but it's worth trying again, right?
First of all, they told me to change the date of the console to 15th November 2005, clear the Xbox's cache, restart the console and sign in to XBL in order to let the console readjust the date.
This alone didn't work, of course.
Then they told me to cancel every ME2 data, saves and importer included (obviously I moved everything to the USB storage) and also to delete my account (again, needless to say: save your gamer profile in an USB storage). After that I downloaded again my profile*... and now I'm finally able to play again ME2 using my gamertag!
Unfortunately if I try to restore the old saves the game and the console freeze again. But that's the least of the problems, who gives a flying effe...
I don't wanto to ****** you off further but, if any of you didn't try to delete the gamesaves and the gamer profile (and downloaded it again), please try... who knows?, this time it might work for you too.
Cheers.
*remove the USb before downloading your profile.

Yeah - that'd be totally cool if I literally wasn't on the last mission with my save game. I'm sorry - but if Bioware expects me to replay a game because they sold me one that I couldn't finish in the first place then they can get stuffed. I've had pretty good luck in games in my life, and rolled with the punches when days or a week delay hit or messed something up...but this is ridiculous. What is it...3 months now? No solution. No offer to make things right.
As someone that independently writes and reviews games I think I'm generally really supportive of the industry and its companies, I realize how difficult it is to please everyone. But at this point Bioware has done literally nothing to smooth this issue over for people while going out of their way to sell online content and promote multiplayer events every month. It's one of the worst displays I've ever seen...

I get your point and I agree, especially because as of now we don't know wether the problem will arise again or not after deleting our data.

Don't forget about when they steamrolled a fix for a optional mission that certain localizations couldn't play in only 2-3 weeks. Hell, they even had someone who was in constant communication with them almost everyday.

Yes, some vets here may remember me getting mad at the Italians alot for getting so much attention from Ryan Warden talking to them all the time. THEN when they finally get their fix the italians say they will build statues dedicated to Warden. Spoiled.. I was irritated.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that problem on the Italian version of ME3 affected thousands of players, not hundreds, and that was a bug of the game itself, not a bug of savegames+gamertag.
As for the Italians saying that they will build a statue to that guy, well, as an Italian myself I know for a fact that people in here don't hold a grudge for too long, and if we get the help needed and a bug is fixed we say "thank you" despite the fact that that we are aware that that bug shouldn't have been there in the first place.
So please, calm down and don't get mad about stuff like this because we are/were in the same situation, and it is obvious that BioWare (and any other business company) gives its priority to the majority, although as a paying customer I expect the same dedication regardeless of how many people are facing said issue.
Signed,
A player that has faced the black screen problem, thinks that ME3 was rushed and thinks that the ending sucks and most likely won't buy any other BioWare game unless BW gets rid of EA.

Who knows how many are affected by the black hole? Could be hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands. I wonder what percentage of those affected have made it to this forum. Keep in mind people have also been hit with the achievement progress reset bug, which can also be caused by a corruption of the same file that causes the black hole. These corruptions are either caused by the game itself, Bioware's servers, or both. The 2 issues are at least on the same level of severity, the only difference is we can fix ours ourselves and they couldn't.

relax, I was here since the
beginning, don't come here as much. It was the Grissom academy not
working at all bug. they got their fix while we didn't 2 months ago or
so. They just sounded spoiled at the time. Read the thread. Don't
feel like searching. Tykimykk had a point in his post, as he was
among the early ones affected. You got your blk screen much later than
us.

I.am.relaxed.
They got that bug fixed sooner because it affected every Italian copy of the game. Not 10 out of a hundred, every copy.
So, everybody who was pissed off was spoiled? On the basis of what criterion? On the fact that they got the bug fixed?
And by the way, I'm not by any means saying that BioWare shouldn't fix this bug, they MUST fix this bug because it's their fault. And this has nothing to do with the fact that I got this black screen only 6 or 7 days ago. I am still pissed off at it since as of now I don't know if the bug will affect ME2 again despite the fact that I deleted every damn gamesave.

Since you are at it, why don't you ask yourself how many Italians who speak English have made it to this forum?
Plus, if you google "black screen on ME3 xbox" you get few results and only one video on Youtube.
If you google " bug accademia Grissom" you will get way more results, there are at least a half dozen different forums discussing about this glitch.
As I already said, any bug that prevents EVERY paying customer to play her/his game must be fixed ASAP, but it is also obvious that a problem that affects more people gets the priority over a bug that affects few, plain and simple.

sounds like this problem . there is a fix in the group which there is a link to in my sig. The fix involves going into ur game and deleting some files. its pretty straight foward but can be nerve racking so just be careful. You can try waiting for a fix but bioware hasn't said anything to us about it in a month so its gonna be a long waitDragos Drakkar wrote...
Not sure what is happening with mine, but since last night my Mass Effect 3 will not allow me to progress past the main menu without freezing. Sometimes it does get to the main menu or Start screen, but most of the time I get to the screen with the burning planet after the Omni-Blade EA logo, and then get a black screen. I have tried multiple times of shutting off the system, letting it sit for a while, and trying again, but it always freezes again. The strange part was that I was playing just fine a few hours before it started doing this. I've tried other games and they work just fine, and I've tried both disks for ME3 and it happens with both. There seems to be a lot of problems arising after the recent patch, but I have no idea if the patch is causing this for me. I have been getting that pop-up about the sign-in change, even though I always use the same account. Any help with this would be great since I have been really getting back into the game after getting back all of my unlocks that were taken away by that glitch when the game came out.

Well good to know that this is yet another glitch that Bioware is taking their sweet time on. This is just a sad sign of the gaming industry that developers now shove games out the door without doing very much checking for big bugs like this, and then maybe eventually they'll get around to fixing them. Guess I'll have to shelve ME3 again for a while, because I'm not apt enough to go digging around in my profile for the fan-fix.

yeah its sad and depressing. I'm sure one day they will fix it, or at least i hope so.Welcome to the group and sorry the glitch got you.
Guess I'll just have to keep checking in from time to time about this one. It's just a shame that most developers are going this path now rather than wanting to make a quality product that the players actually want to play.
