Stop everything at hand. Go on a three week vacation. At the end of the second week, gather together just for tea. During that, by all means get some quality sleep, quality food and stay away from caffine.
You guys need to reflect on your previous games, the games of other companies and figure out what worked and what did not work. Wait, I guess you guys have already done that.
However, the more important issue is how, and why these features worked, or did not work.
Because that's what I felt in your recent games. Mostly DA2 and TOR (I don't care if Mythic is making the endgame; Bioware clearly have some talents working in Austin), and forum posts on ME3 suggests in this direction as well. It's difficult to explain; however, I feel that some features of DA2, TOR and ME3 that turn the games sour can be good features on their own, but Bioware simply borrowed them from their own games and other games, and slapped those features on.
For example:
1) The all-bi squad of DA2 and expanded homosexual option of ME3. What I feel is that Leliana and Zevran's bisexuality fits their characters quite well, but the homosexuality in DA2 is so omnipresent that it feels, I don't know, awkward. And in my opinion objective sexuality kind of kills a character's personality too.
2) The dialogue wheel in DA2 and TOR. The dialogue system in ME2 is great because, in my opinion, it builds our favorite characters, such as Miranda, Thane, Samara, Legion, Aria and TIM's personalities in a few lines. They are great, multi-dimensional characters that we love, or hate, or love to hate, or hate to love. It has nothing to do with dialogue wheels. I doubt the wheel will do Jolee, Kreia or Ammon Jerro any good. Stephen Reid said in one video that "like in any Bioware game there's a dialogue wheel" I just hope this does not mean the future of all Bioware game's dialogue.
Full voiceover in my opinion is also an overkill, especially in TOR. In my opinion, Neverwinter night 2's style is more than enough. Minor characters could simply stay minor. Minor quests like killing 10 of something could also stay minor.
Shepard's character development in ME3: haven't played, cannot comment on.
I also felt many of TOR's designs are self-contradictory, and etc.
These are my feelings; I don't represent the community but I think many would feel the same way.
TL; DR:
Bioware employees need to go on a vacation and rest for a bit to reflect on their previous games and their features, and figure out why some features made the games great. In their recent games: DA2, TOR and from what I heard about ME3, they borrowed a lot from their previous games and other games without understanding why they are successful.
Bioware, I guess this is impossible but I urge you guys to do this...
