Nothing as long as 'High' doesn't become 'unrealistic', which I think is the case for many people.

The series would have been greatly improved had they never been included. But ME3's problems go way beyond that poorly written mechanic.Sparatus wrote...

Oh, I know.
It's just after two years I am sick of people moaning about romances.

A decent ending, a reflection of my choices, a conversation system similar to the one used all series, more than a photoshopped stock picture for tali's face (see fan art)... I wouldn't say this was unrealistic expectations. The other 2 games delivered to most peoples expectations This one doesn't because its too busy worrying about how much money it can make from multiplayer packs and day one DLC

I'm not against gay people, on either side, but its like religion, do what you do and enjoy being who you are, but i dont need you to stand in front of my face jumping and waving your arms screaming "LOOK AT ME, HEY, HEY, HEY LOOK"
they dont have jo-ho's banging on the airlock, why did they need to be so over-the-top this time?
I haven't run into any gay content besides Cortez having lost his husband. How is that in your face... ? And also OP gay people aren't part of the fanbase what? This game has so much in it that you can only really appreciate if you've played the first 2 games.

I know you were probably saying that in sarcasm, but I seriously wish Bioware never would've bothered with the romances in the first place. "Romance" in an ME game ultimately just boils down to a bunch of forced, cheesy flirts and a laughably bad cutscene of dry-humping. I certainly would've preferred to see resources for those used for things like more dialogue choices, more polish, or more sidequests.

You must not have played long lol. Then again I've only run into 3. Cortez, Presidium commons, and embassies in act 2.

Oh yeah there's a woman married to an Asari asking about her in the embassies, I think. I dunno about the third. But still, it's not "in your face" to know that gay people, um, exist.

And why again is it 'unrealistic' to expect a sequel to keep the strengths of it's predecessors and build up on them? Granted, ME3 seems to have done that in some aspects, like the shooting, others not so much though. In the case of ME3 there would also be the expectation of a satisfying ending, which seems to be one of the biggest problems here.

All well and great. Loads of new players and loads of money for you hopefully. But just like in Dragon Age 2, you forgot one market. You know, the old faithful market that buy all your games, love all your games and really just wanted a decent ending to something we started playing 6 years ago, a decent face for Tali that shows some imagination, a reflection that our choices mattered and most importantly the conversation system we've been using for the whole series.
Seriously what were you thinking? "They are going to buy it regardless, we've got their money in the bank, lets concentrate on making money elsewhere"? Because thats what it seems like. Do this stuff on a new franchise by all means, but come off it, you don't even give us a decent ending? Or maybe you're planning on selling it to us later? It's bad business and people will stop buying your stuff.
Wake up and smell the coffee. The choices you made in ME1 barely ever mattered in ME2 either. Whether it was Ashley/Kaidan, Udina/Anderson, Rachni kill/save, or Council die/live ... Barely any of that mattered, you'd get a nod here and there, and it would change a line or two of dialogue maybe. But the universe remained mostly unchanged. Whether humanity was leading or the council stayed the same wasn't the game-changer the end of ME1 would have led us to believe.
It's like in Skyrim --- you can ally with the Stormcloaks or the Imperials, but the world runs just the same afterwards anyway.
Forget big world changing choices. These cannot happen unless they'd put massive work and budget on huge parts of the game that a majority of people might not even experience.
Like many of us, wake up and stop believing the hype. Enjoy these games if you can, for what they're worth, and don't expect more than has been demonstrated before --- or go play some tabletop RPGs, because those are the only ones where your choices actually MAKE the game.

The Witcher. Awesome games that don't treat the players like children. Then again, they're made by Europeans (who generally create better, more believable medieval-inspired universes than most North Americans), aimed at a slightly older audience, and CDP aren't afraid of ending up on CNN with some "ZOMG SECKS IN GAEMS THINK OF DUH CHILDRUUN!!!!" BS. Also, The Witcher is a cultural icon of sorts. Didn't the Polish Prime Minister give a copy of The Witcher 2 to Barack Obama when he visited them? As a gift for cultural exchange???

The whole point of the series was to have your decisions carry through and have large impact. Even if they didn't show much in ME 2, 3 should have been where the payoff came. This game series has been successful enough to where the budget could have easily allowed to let the choices be seen through in major ways. I don't even see how you could think otherwise. Apparently it was more important to spend all that money on Advertising as well as getting Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jessica Chobot in. There is far too much evidence that Bioware had cut corners and the game's quality has definitely suffered for it.

Well said. Unfortunately, the side that is not satisfied tends to become quite "vocal."

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's totally in-character for Geralt to sleep around like that. Doesn't mean he cares less for Merigold though. Thing is, 'bonking' around was kind of a hobby for many men in nobility and such, back in the Middle-Ages.
Plus, it happens in books by celebrated authors all the time. Maybe not Tolkien, but just read the Song of Ice and Fire series, or stuff by Michael Moorcock, like Gloriana, you'll find plenty of casual bonking in there. Happens in Sci-Fi too --- Heinlein comes to mind, with Stranger in a Strange Land....

Still preferable to Bioware trying to portray two characters as "true wuv" after a few forced dialogue options. At least the Witcher never portrays most of Geralt's conquests as anything more than a meaningless fling. And if those erotic cards are "cheesy", then Bioware's romances are pure, unadultered, 110% weapons-grade CHEESY.
Seriously, ME fans who obsess over the romances are no different to me than Twilight fangirls who obsesses over those books. Hell, they're starting to make me embarrassed to be an ME fan.
