I am having such a great time with ME3. More than I did with ME1 and ME2 because I see all I did then, reflected now. So yeah, I am in the fan base and I am very critic of bad bames despite who developed it.

At this point, not even a *bad* ending would make me less fan of ME3. It is an awesome game. Just like Risen has the best chapter 1 and perhaps 2 in any RPG but the worst final boss fight ever. It does not matter, it is still a great game. Well, that has been challenged by The Witcher 2 which has awesome chapters 1 and 2 and even 3, short as it may be.

Looking at it as a whole, ME3 is a fantastic 3rd and final chapter in one of the best RPG series.

Somehow a bulk of this thread has turned into "too gay!" vs "not too gay!" discussion.

There are fans who are just fine with the current status of ME 3, so it's always a bad idea to make "on everyone's behalf" speeches. But if you were to speak for those of us who are disappointed that the game went even further into the "actioner" and "shootering" territory while limiting the dialog options, then yeah, I'd agree.

As for the gay thing, I think they should have gave us an option or something to indicate whether our character was gay or not. Now I have NOTHING against gay ppl AT ALL, ok? Homophobia is not why ppl have a problem with the feature, its just now that every character we know is suddenly "gay", it makes for very awkward moments. Just yesterday I was talking with Garrus(right after I recruited him), and it ended with him saying something like "when this is all over I'm gonna drink you under the table" ..... ๏_๏

Just wanted to say that "I'm gonna drink you under the table" has more than one meaning.  He was probably talking about drinking with Shepard to the point that Shepard passes out.

this. Only the Witcher series does romances right.

You mean bonk almost every named character with breasts and get a cheesy erotic card?

And ignoring your choices (Shani!!!!) in the first game? Yup. And Triss lovin' ya anyway. Yeah, GREAT "romance".

BIoware is not that stupid.

They're not trying to appeal to every market; mainly just gamers, and within them mainly just RPG and shooter fans.  Trying to appeal to a broader market isn't trying to appeal to every market.

Bioware went with stronger gunplay/cinematics and marginally lighter conversation to give the game a broader appeal.  Whether it was a success or failure won't be influenced much by trolls and hypersensitive "oldschool" fans.

This game is already a critical success and I'm very interested to see how well it sells.

You talk about gay people a lot. Like an obsessive amount.

I do think this chapter was very watered down from the first two. While this one attempted to blend the first two, which was very obvious, they unfortunately added and omitted things that were essential to the ME name. The build up of decisions in the first two games to come down to nothing more than a line of dialogue in this game was disappointing. It's clear this game has the stink of EA on it and doesn't seem like it was touched by BW at all.You could have easily changed everyone's names, change Quarian helmets, paint the Asari pink and you would think never think it was Mass Effect.

The title of this thread needs to be changed. to

Mass Effect 3 - Appealing to every market but Justin2k

You don't speak for the ME3 fanbase.

I have been a big time fan of ME ever since release and I love ME3.

If you want a happy ending go watch star wars episode 6.

Its funny lots of star wars fans hated that ending. Ironey

Fanbase? You mean the "whiner" market who can't be satisfied ever. I'm glad Bioware isn't listening to you guys, if they did this game would have 200 hours of running from place to place in the same boring repeated environment with brain-dead A.I and a non functional combat system. Oh wait, that's Mass Effect 1. Mass Effect 1 is still a great game, but Mass Effect 3 is light years ahead of it.

I consider myself part of the fanbase too since my shelf of games is a bunch of RPG's and Bioshock which treads awfully close to the line of being an RPG.

I'm not sure even what the OP is upset about..well other than everything.

I'm part of the fanbase and I'm pleased with what I've seen so far and I don't even have the game yet.

As long as my FemShep can finally romance Miranda, as was intended in ME2 but was changed at the last minute, I'm kosher with the idea. ;)

Hey OP,
Do you mean gay as in male homosexuality or gay as in any gay character because homosexuality has been a choice since ME1 for Female Shepards?
I'm glad there is a male gay option. I haven't encountered it in game yet.
Is it overly in your face in terms of presentation or just out of the blue?
I guess my question is is it well done or is it just horribly written?
Thanks!

Just because you may not like it does not mean all of us old Bioware fans don't, but hey I respect your opinion.

You do not speak for every fan Justin. So far I have been satisfied by the game in every way, from RPG to combat to story. I'm not mad you don't like the game. I'm mad because you assume every other fan doesn't like it either.

I’ve only played the demo and about and hour of the game but it certainly looks to me that they did all they could to cater to everyone EXCEPT a good part of the core Mass Effect Fans. The game just feels to streamlined to me.

When a game gets 3 play style options (Action, RPG and Story) that alone tells me the developers don’t have a clue who the game made is for. Add in the multiplayer part of the game that just couldn’t be made into its own full sized separate game and that pretty much seals the deal.

Of course when anyone has a viewpoint other than the trolling mob mentality around here, we are called whiners or worse and they usually do their best to start up flame war to get the thread locked, or at the least rarely contribute anything with trolling comments.

Well I think the people angry were just fine with Liara and the ENTIRE Asari race...  Their fine with gays so long as their female.
But as soon as a male is into another male the rage comes out.
As a completely straight male myself i find it offensive that people are so narrow minded.
I might play a gay male sheperd just to see it for myself.
Thats part of roleplaying.  Doing something you would NEVER do in real life.

Justin2k hits the nail on the head. I can't support Bioware or EA any longer after the way they handled this last entry in the trilogy. I expect that once more people finish the game, you'll start to see far less support than you're seeing now.

Since you brought it up, I'm reminded of what I thought when I first saw Thane. I honestly thought the Drell were going to be the male equivalent of the Asari. Missed opportunity there if you ask me.
