People lost real money here and some can still lose too. It's still possible to redeem bioware points.

It seems like the most basic QA testing should have taken care of this issue. Lost everything a moment ago. Let's just say I've lost interest. I had a Quarian Infiltrator with a decent sniper rifle, lots of medi-gel etc.

Bioware, this is unacceptable. Real money is being paid here.

QA testers, no matter how good, aren't gonna catch everything. Stuff happens. What matters is how the company deals with a problem after it happens.

So far, we haven't gotten any promise of resolution or compensation. As another poster said, EA/Bioware are still trying to decide how to deal with this.

Thing is, in a crisis situation, there's only a limited window to respond before people get really pissed off. The longer they stay silent, the angrier people are gonna be.

Last year's PSN issues meant I'm no longer making online purchases over my PS3 - I didn't even grab their so-called welcome-back package. After last year's Blackberry outage, all folks in my household are going Apple or Android.

This ME3 multiplayer thing isn't anywhere as serious as those cases, but it shows how consumer confidence can be lost.

Amen, brutha.

I've pretty much stopped playing the multi because of this bug. Bioware being silent about it makes it even worse and the solution given doesn't really help those already affected. I know it was a weekend, but this was also reported a day after launch on a Wednesday. What's the point of me continuing to play if they just end up rolling everything back?

I'm thoroughly confused on why such a big bug was left unchecked. It was apparently in the demo and made it to launch. While I haven't really spend actual money into unlocking kits, the fact that for some people the bug is tied to real money is pretty damning.

You are right on.

Now I just hope the packs I buy now with credits are not wasted if things do get reverted back.

This is my thought. Anybody know what the Eviscerator is? Uncommon? Rare? Ultra Rare?

It's a gold card.

Refraining from playing the demo until this is fixed or a solution is proposed by Bioware/EA. I haven't put money into this either, but the multiplayer's lasting appeal bases itself on an unlock system that bases itself on chance. Getting something great only to have it taken away again isn't appealing to me.

I've ran into this problem and I find it funny now. The rep at EA told me I was the only complaint on this, that was Wednesday night and I do find it funny or maybe it the pain killers I'm on because a muscle spazzem in my neck. I lost 2080 MS Points I lost a paladin and a Widow.

My friend and I lost alot of items/points tonight too. Some items ranked II set back to rank I. All the color options and pattern unlocks are gone too. It's really too much to explain, it's devastating when you lose real money which is what basically happened. Unfortunately we didn't see this specific thread until now. I wish we could have got an email warning us about the bug since real money is involved... I mean Origin is good at sending me email advertisments but not warnings about money stealing bugs?  I feel cheated.  Hopefully they can restore everything... somehow.

Kits becoming relocked in Multiplayer

Created about 4 days ago, Modified about 3 days ago

tl;dr for most people, so suggestions highlighted

Seriously?  This thread comes with a warning about how to prevent the problem (obviously too late for the vast majority who will only find it after experiencing the bug), and it hasn't appeared on the main menu dlc text/update/'blog' area by now?  If the point of that feature is exclusively to sell us additional stuff, and heaven forbid that it enrich and protect our gameplay experiences, please just remove it from all future games -- before it was only a small annoyance with potential for greatness, now it's just insulting to look at.  With some people potentially paying in cash, not just frustration, AFTER this bug was known, that kind of inaction is truly disappointing.

While on the subject of defending less fortunate fellow gamers, how on earth could I still be seeing “I can't load my saves because of your network/my network and DLC and DRM” threads, on my way here?  With the same pleas like “OK I get it, but can you just check that I bought it the first time I play it?” and “The crackers don't even have this problem, I'm considering joining them due to DRM!” and “The box says internet to install, not to play single player!” and of course “I guess I'm SOL for the next 16 months, thanks for supporting the troops guys” that I've seen, and that sometimes have even been corrected, plaguing your games for years now?  Are the abysmal failures of the past just that fun to repeat?

To recap:
- I'm glad I didn't put anything besides time into the gear and characters my N7 level 79 multiplayer account used to have.
- I feel blessed that I didn't buy the upgraded version or any DLC, and won't have to worry about that nonsense again.
- I feel wise for choosing a venue that includes a pre-order gift certificate instead of bonus content, for the same reason.
- Hell, I feel lucky that my M55 Argus email is AWOL or very late, that probably just saved me from a headache and maybe from skipping the break-in period of a few nice assault rifles.

Lesson learned:  As of right now, it seems you're better off not paying A SINGLE DIME or a single segment of time and/or energy on these cash-milking boondoggles.  ME3, or your standard bioware game, acquired with little effort, at or below MSRP, is a fine game and a good deal, and differing from that path is a terrible idea, unless your goal is to lose respect and reverence for bioware.

Not exactly what you wanted to hear about your decision to put talent and resources towards additional content?  Your customers didn't want to have to say it, either.  I'd rather still be of the mind to acquire EVERYTHING bioware makes in a favored series, or hell, just buy aesthetic DLC and 24'' lithographs and whatnot to support a game company I love, but the tiny disappointments add up, and the prestige is fading.

Dear BioWare,

I check this thread at least twice a day. While I have personally avoided losing any multiplayer items (despite playing for 5+ hours every day), I would love to get some confirmation as to what causes the bug and whether it will or will not be fixable in some way by BioWare in the future. If this bug affects me, will I receive something for the unlocks i've lost?

You clearly pay a lot of people to post on these forums so how bout having one of them provide an update status??? Especially if your customer support staff is directing people to the forums, it's important that you respond ASAP if there's hundreds of people affected by a defect in a major video game title, not to mention that this 'defect' has cost fans extra money on top of the $60 value of the original game. Seriously, all you have to say is that you're working on it, or give some additional details about what causes the bug. If I worked for your company, i'd sacrifice 5 minutes of my weekend to write a forum post to appease my disappointed fans, even if i didn't get paid to do it.

Anyway, someone up the BioWare food chain has made a poor choice in communicating this issue with the public. However, I must add to this post that I am APPALLED by the metacritic reviews and various negative forum posts on this site bashing the game. I've only played the very first mission in single player part of the game and I loved it. The graphics are amazing, the story telling is amazing, and the normandy is pretty boss with the alliance upgrades. Gun customization is excellent and the cover system is way better than the last 2 games (which i have spend way too many hours on). While i wait for spring break to spend serious time on the single player portion, I have spent a crap ton of hours on multiplayer and frankly it's the most fun i've had playing a game in a long long time. I need to cancel my COD Elite subscription tomorrow... I hope that BioWare takes this opportunity to patch multiplayer, fix the bug, and continue to build upon the awesome framework they're created.

No reason to hate or stop playing if there's a bug. All games have them. Even if all my unlocks were lost tomorrow, i'd still be playing multiplayer. I seriously have dreams that i'm messing up reapers with an asari adept...

Actually I've just had a conversation with Chris P. he's put my mid more at ease, I don't think BW will leave us hanging and they're hoping to have a fix worked out this week, he said they just need to work out the policy For everyone impacted by this bug :)

If they are discussing policies now it's almost certain they won't do a rollback.

I have stayed clear from the mp just for this reason. My brother and some of my friends have had this glitch. I loved the mp in the demo and i hope Bioware fix this problem fast. That said im disappointed that no bioware rep has had the decency to post any info, just to reassure their costumers about this MEGA issue.

If they dont do some sort of refund that's basically stealing my money based on a bug I wasn't informed of, unless I looked here ... by chance. Two store purchases for BWP and 2 20 dollar EA points cards.  If anything when they became aware of this bug, and because REAL money is involved, they should have disabled the multiplayer servers immediately and told us right away through the game menu or emails.

if anything they should see who played and let us pick  items from a list and hit a submit button.
like 4 uncommon 2 rare, 1 ultra rare and  2 characters of our choice

Just to beat a Dead horse here. I did my own testing to see the problem. I lost 20+ hours of items so i didn't see a problem losing another 2+ hours of stuff.

The bug defiantly seems to be related to "ready up" In any of the menus. First time it happened to me was when i clicked on the store and the game started. The second time i did it was when i was changing colours on the Appearance screen.

Now I'm not bothered about my lost stuff, i can get that again. I am bothered about my bioware points i spent on the Crates. Which in hindsight was a bad idea, as I've had better crap out of my +5 hour profile. I don't expect to be reimbursed in anyway. However i do wish to see a decent response and fix for this. I wish not for other people to lose all of their progress in such an addicting and fun game mode.

The band-aid Solution would be to auto-unready people browsing menus. I'm no Game Dav but it's defiantly related to readying up and browsing menus of any kinda outside of sitting on the lobby.

Some extra Details here: After playing again for the third time, I was unlocking some of the Character classes (which i had done on my +20 "file") Now the Strange thing is My Salarian Infiltrator when unlocked for the third time was level 17~ with all my old gear i had lost, i could play matches with him and my weapons had mods. However when i went back to the lobby screen and bought a new crate and got a second sniper mod (Yeah after 20+ hours of playing i only got one >.<) and i wanted to equip it on my Window--Bad idea it disappeared so i was with my Infiltrator with the mantis again.

tl;dr: Make people auto-unready in any of the menus and I ain't mad.

Hahaha yeah I as told the same twice.  Once that my items would be restored in 24 hours and then once that my Bioware points would be refunded.  That is EA's crack support staff lying through their teeth so they can close support tickets.

I'd be completely pissed about this if I had no idea how difficult it is to find problems in thousands of lines of codes. Also what I meant by 9AM eastern bioware is in western time so it was like 6AM where they at >:|

The multiplayer team is still in Montreal, I believe.

If this requires anything more than a server side fix, won't it be a month before the problem gets fixed on XBox? I thought Microsoft's month or so delay on patches was a pretty common roadblock, and one that was used to justify the delay in fixing several of DA2's launch bugs, specifically the Sebastian/Isabel ruin-your-attack-speed glitches.
