I was readied up and waiting for a game to start when I decided to look at the store. When the last person readied up and the match started, I lost all my items. Some of those items were paid for with real money.

After I searched the issue and found that it is a known cause of this problem, I couldnt' believe Bioware or EA didn't put out some sort of warning through the message bar on the title screen.

I am really disappointed, and am looking forward to Bioware's reply.

Yeah, I had this happen to me as well. I lost my Krogan SEntinel as well other stuff. What I don't understand is when this bug was discovered why weren't we notified through the Cerberus Network, or whatever it's called now, as opposed to just a forum post? People are going to find out about the problem anyways and they could've made a bigger effort to avoid people being screwed over.

It seems like in other sections of this forum and even other forums like gamefaq etc, people are playing and taking about spending points still and not having problems/or unaware there is one. Then the patch for balancing by some unknown, and this new 140 hour expire pack in the store.... I don't know what to make of it. I wish someone from BioWare just cared enough to come here and give us a status update.

Happened to me to last night. If anyone cares below is my log with a EA support, the guy kind of said they are reimbursing us, although it looked more like deflecting my questions.

Anup: Thanks for contacting EA Help! My name is Anup how may I help you?
you: I just lost all of my multiplayer character races, weapons, and Mods in Mass Effect 3 for xbox 360.
you: Do you know how I can get them back? By any chance.
Anup: I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you due to this.
Anup: I do understand that, let me see what best I can do for you.
Anup: This is a known issue with the game and Bioware is working to fix it.
Anup:
Anup: This is a known issue with the game and Bioware is working to fix it.
you: Thanks, but after probably 60 hours spent in multiplayer, and $20 worth of microsoft points and apology isn't going to help make me feel better.
you: Well are they working on getting our stuff back?
Anup: Yes
you: Well how do I let them know this happened to me.
Anup: You can play multiplayer now but
Anup: o avoiding going into the Store while 'Ready' for a multiplayer match. It's best to un-ready yourself before you go to the store.
Anup: o not accepting invites while in the store/purchasing
Anup: Many players are facing such issues so please do not worry about this
you: I know now why it happened, I want to know how to get my weapons/ characters back, or the veteran/spectre packs back, or the dang microsoft points.
you: I apologize if I come of angry, or rude, but I am extremly mad/sad about this.
Anup: Please be patient it will be fixed soon
you: No offence, but I don't care if it will be fixed soon. I just want my stuff back.
Anup: Every thing will be fixed as our team is working on it
you: Okay thanks. Do I need to do anything so they know what I lost?
Anup: No, its a known issue so it will be fixed
Anup: Is there anything else I may assist you with today?
you: I know its a known issue, and that they are going to stop this from happening again, but will they actually give our items back? That is what I am worried about.
you: I mean if it takes a few days that is fine, but its not right to basically steal all of our items, and money, and then say well sorry for your loss, but atleast we are going to fix the issue, to keep it from happening again.
Anup: Our team is working to make it as it is
you: Okay, I guess. Thanks for the help.
Anup: Is there anything else I may assist you with today?
you: Have a great night/day. And, nope thats it.
Anup: Thank you for contacting EA and chatting with me. I do appreciate your time and have a great day!
you: You too.
Your chat transcript will be sent to (edited out by me) at the end of your chat session.
Your chat session has ended.

I too lost a bunch of stuff, but mine was after someone revived me. Thankfully I hadn't bought anything. I just hope they won't fix this the same way Chair "fixed" a similar issue in Infinity Blade 2.

The lack of official word on a fix or compensation annoys me more than the lost items themselves. I don't like being kept in the dark. I don't like having to wait in uncertainty.

Bioware's reps post on a daily basis. They're talking about balance changes. They're just not talking about THIS issue.

That's intentional. They're keeping quiet - on purpose. Because their bosses haven't decided what to tell us.

It's also obvious why they don't want to plaster warnings about the bug to people who haven't been affected. People would stop playing. People would stop buying their stuff.

I know that. You know that. We're not blind. But with each passing day, we're all getting more and more annoyed, especially since we can see damn well what's going on. EA and Bioware need to realise that.

The easiest way to get a response is to probably send this in to gaming news sites as an issue and have them contact the heads at Bioware for an official response other than the "keep play our broken game that will take your money" one. Seriously, there's been only one place (PC Gamer) were I've seen an article about this. Where's this headline on Kotaku, IGN, Joystiq, Gamespot? If Xbox Live's issue of your gamer score going to zero is big enough to warrant a headline, you'd think real money down the drain would get an even bigger one.

This is pretty much where I'm at.  I would have loved a chance to use my Quarian Infiltrator before today's
extensive uhh, patch... but after playing the heck out of MP this whole week after getting hit by the glitch, I've unlocked pretty much everything I already had and more.  (Just got the QI back this evening, huzzah?)  The lost
items and time are annoying, but the lack of any response on the forums is both annoying and worrying.

I've seen other's posts of  messages they've gotten from Devs, and I've recently gotten an email letting me know that they know and to stay tuned.  Otherwise this issue might as well not exist forum-wise, imo.  At this point I don't care about the missing items or credits that much anymore, for me it's the deeply dissapointing lack of upfront leadership from Bioware.  The complete silence speaks far louder then words.  I'll continue to play, as I'm having a metric tonne fun, but I expected far more communication to keep us in the loop on a regular basis.  Silly me I suppose.  :P

Edited: Weird spacing?

I haven't played since the bug hit. I'm vaguely concerned about screwing up my inventory further. I also don't want to lose all my stuff again.

I shouldn't have to be worried. Bioware should be reassuring me that my account is safe to play. Or something. I mean, it's nice that some people have gotten personal responses? But I haven't. I feel like a second-class citizen.

Look, crisis communication isn't that hard. They need to talk to us. They need to demonstrate that they've got this under control, that we'll be taken care of. That we're valued and respected as player community members. As other folks have said, this simple gesture would go a long way to putting our minds at ease. That hasn't happened.

This is the sort of false or inaccurate information that gets people up in arms. Or is it false? Maybe it's true. Because most of us are going off second-hand info here, since the powers that be at EA and Bioware haven't given us any official updates.

The longer this fiasco goes on without any official word, the more speculation, rumour and fear is going to spread. I understand the need to carefully craft a public statement, but at this point EA and Bioware aren't doing themselves any favours by keeping quiet.

And posts like these are why we need a like button for the forums.  Get on it Bioware!  :P

Thumb up from me, well said.

I, too, have fallen victim to this bug.  I was enjoying my Krogan Soldier, going berzerk on everything when POOF!  All my unlocks I spent $35 unlocking vanished.  I'm confident Bioware will fix the problem, but until then I'll just cry in my little corner.Image IPB

Man this is such a bummer :(

Unlocked an awesome pistol and assault rifle today, was running arround quite happily with my krogan soldier, bashing heads in.... (or shooting them off :P)

Suddenly i notice my medigel, rockets, and ammo packs were at  0 (had about 40 of each in stock and i didnt use them that match, so i was pretty sure i didnt run out), my heavy melee attack goes from the usual "charge " to a melee swing similar to a human characters non heavy melee combo.

the match ends (this happened on the last wave) and everything was gone :( i can still edit the characters powers and stuff but when i click "switch character" he shows up as locked, so theres no way in hell im switching.

was really starting to enjoy multiplayer too.... hope this gets fixed soon.. id really like to get my readiness to 100% before i finish singleplayer. Also.. i spent about 15-20 euros into bioware points for weapons/characters x_X

I too wish I knew if it was safe to play right now or not. I haven't played since I lost my stuff because I don't want to overwrite the progress I already made if we can get it back and I don't want to lose my stuff again.

... I 'really' hope they don't simply fix this with an overwrite...
I have a Widow and a Disciple now. All I lost was a Mantis VI and some character customization. :\\

Here's an idea Bioware, maybe when somebody readies up the store option gets grayed out so they can't actually choose it, because I made this mistake by trying to get into the weapons but I messed up and ended up in the store instead. Next thing I know, my equipment is zero and all the stuff I earned is gone forever. And yes, I know that's partially my fault but I'm just saying so that it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Bioware might be able to just give the people affected with this glitch in-game credits equal to however many Microsoft/Bioware/PSN Points, or at least that's how I see it happening.

well I found 500 MS Points on my account I used it and got my QI back I would much rather have the 2080 MS Points in credits on spec packs, and the other 100k+ I spent on veteran and recruit packs.

Agreed.  It reminds me of the Sony PSN hack.

Maybe that's in the back of their heads, promising something and having to keep extending the ETA on a fix like Sony did.

Hopefully it won't be nearly as bad as that was.
