Rest assured, you aren't alone in avoiding multiplayer. I haven't played since all my guns and characters went poof. Many affected people have stopped.

Hell, even players who HAVEN'T been affected are staying away from the game, because they MIGHT be hit.

But there's also quite a number of people who've simply kept on playing despite losing all their unlocks. Some of these people have been hit multiple times by the bug. There was one player who posted in this thread that he's lost all his stuff four times so far. Dunno about you, but glad I'm not him.

playing multiplayer with this bug in effect only complicates the back end for restoreing your lost gear. one restore is easier than compiling 4 different resets. only thing that could be done is just give back all the points/credits used to purchase packs.

Wonder how they will fix this.  For those that already lost their items then put some time into unlocking items again, how will they address that?  Character rollback?

Yeah what will I get in compensation for the microsoft points I spent on this. In game credits is NOT good enough. I spent real cash, 100 dollars on that stuff. I will not be given some imaginary money back to spend to see if I can randomly unlock the stuff again. No I refuse that.

Since ive been hit with it so many times (4) and ideal solution for me would be because i have unlocked character multiple times, and some lower level guns (i dont think ive reunlocked any elite leverl guns) would be to reunlock everything that ive unlocked, and compensate me credits for the things ive unlocked multiple times

Considering that unlocks do stack - I think the ideal solution would be...for example, someone who'd unlocked the Black Widow twice would end up with a Black Widow II after the fix. The same would go for characters; if you had the Turian Sentinel, lost it, then got it again, you'd end up with customisation options and extra XP for the Sentinel class.

I suspect that's what they'll try to do. Point and credit refunds are unlikely because of the different platforms involved. It may be doable for EA Origin Bioware Points, but it's far less likely for Microsoft and PSN Points. A credit refund may be possible, I suppose. But honestly we're all just speculating here.

No matter the solution, there will be unhappy people. A lot of folks feel that in addition to getting our currency (or items) back, we should also receive additional compensation by means of apology for the lost time and inconvenience. So even if all our gear is restored, if they don't do anything BEYOND that - some folks are still gonna have an axe to grind.

...that's...a very good point. Hell, it's one reason why I didn't wanna keep playing, since I personally had a Mantis IX or X before I got locked out. I figured at the rate basic weapon upgrade cards drop, I figured I might be screwing myself over come an eventual fix.

You make a very strong case for there being some kind of bonus points or credits to affected players, not just an item restore.

I guess they'd be mad not to give us some form of compensation, but what form that compensation takes - and whether anyone would end up shortchanged by it - is certainly up for debate. Since we don't have an open dialogue with Bioware, all we can do is speculate.

I had a Mantis IV when it was reset. I now have a Mantis X, a Widow, a Disciple, and a Geth Plasma Shotgun II. I will be very upset if my new inventory is replaced with what I had a week ago.

Yeah I just lost everything too. Thankfully I spent less than 800 Microsoft Points on Spectre Packs so I'm not as pissed as some of the people in this thread. Looking forward to a solution, but I won't be touching MP until then.

Here’s what I predict:

Points don’t get refundend. Reason: Microsoft for example doesn’t refund points as stated in their policy. Too complicated to do this cross-plattform wide anyway. Also people might be tempted to use refunded points just to buy dlc because they lost interest in mp = less profit for EA.

No rollback as it would ****** off all people who were lucky and got N7 gear (and still have it).

Fix today isn’t about relock issue because they would have mentioned it here. More likely it’s to fix some lag issues. So don’t risk anything until this problem is officially fixed.

They might be able to restore lost items as the data is still stored in your profile, just hidden. I’m about 90% sure that’s what they are currently working on. Just don't expect a solution before 2-3 weeks.

For my part i kept on going playing the multiplayer, hoping bioware will fix it...
thats why i've got like 1,2 million credits stocked and did not buy anything. So i hope i'll get my spectrepacks ( i bought like 6 with biowarepoints) and several veteranpacks back. It's only 3,5h to the patch!

Not refunding points could be a huge loss to their fan base, something that would cost them far more in the long run when instead of people not buying a DLC pack, they don't buy anything from them.  Immediately after the bug hit me, I contacted EA support, and of course was exteremly unsatisfied by the response.  I then immediately cancelled my SWTOR sub, and will not support EA or Bioware if they don't make this right.  I didn't even buy any BW points, it's the principle of the matter that gets me, and I don't tolerate this from companies.  Refunding points would be in their best interests: they aren't extra points, they're points already paid for, also in Microsoft's case.  Refunding virtual items or credits costs no extra money.  It's comparable to giving an angry customer a free meal; you might take a small hit in the wallet, but money you make in the long term because you didn't turn that customer away forever far outweighs that, not to mention all the people that angry customer tells, and you lose that potential business, too.  If any one of you went to a restaraunt, where you had to pay in advance before getting your food, and halfway through it, they took your food away, you'd be livid and I'm sure you wouldn't go back any time soon.  Why allow that kind of behavior from any other company?

Edit: This is assuming they can't simply restore what was previously unlocked.

Yup.  Which is why I'm staying the hell out of MP until my stuff gets restored.  Too risky, and makes it too complicated for them.

I figure a full credit reimbursement may be what happens.  Seems the easiest and fastest way to fix it for us.

Besides, I kind of would like to just buy 90 million vet. packs in one shot.  Would be interesting!

Lol would be funny if they had a record on every pack you have bought, and implented a new pack in the store, "redeem you lost packs", one click and you essensially buy all you lost packs back. Hundreds of items to scroll through :P

I would be fine with a temporary "fix my crap" button until they figured out how to stop the bug from occuring.

Every time I got reset it'd be like Christmas all over again!

I seriously doubt that the server maintanence today has anything to do with this glitch, i mean all EA games have downtimes every so often to tweak the servers.
This does not mean they are fixing the glitch. I find it funny that with so many moderators allways online answering to useless threads, not 1 can come here and shed some more light on this matter, Bioware is loosing respect here.

They don't have the power to refund Microsoft Points though. Only Microsoft can do that and they are another company (which you should know is a bigger company since I mean come on I shouldn't have to explain it). The point is points on xbox are managed by Microsoft and Bioware has no say so with them. :( I am just unhappy, I spent 100 dollars, real money, on points then bought all the Spectre and Veteran packs I could with that money and now I lose the content because of this. :( not cool.

I don't see anything fixed in-game, and I don't think EA bothered to fix anything yet.
