Here’s what I predict:
Points don’t get refundend. Reason: Microsoft for example doesn’t refund points as stated in their policy. Too complicated to do this cross-plattform wide anyway. Also people might be tempted to use refunded points just to buy dlc because they lost interest in mp = less profit for EA.
No rollback as it would ****** off all people who were lucky and got N7 gear (and still have it).
Fix today isn’t about relock issue because they would have mentioned it here. More likely it’s to fix some lag issues. So don’t risk anything until this problem is officially fixed.
They might be able to restore lost items as the data is still stored in your profile, just hidden. I’m about 90% sure that’s what they are currently working on. Just don't expect a solution before 2-3 weeks.
Not refunding points could be a huge loss to their fan base, something that would cost them far more in the long run when instead of people not buying a DLC pack, they don't buy anything from them. Immediately after the bug hit me, I contacted EA support, and of course was exteremly unsatisfied by the response. I then immediately cancelled my SWTOR sub, and will not support EA or Bioware if they don't make this right. I didn't even buy any BW points, it's the principle of the matter that gets me, and I don't tolerate this from companies. Refunding points would be in their best interests: they aren't extra points, they're points already paid for, also in Microsoft's case. Refunding virtual items or credits costs no extra money. It's comparable to giving an angry customer a free meal; you might take a small hit in the wallet, but money you make in the long term because you didn't turn that customer away forever far outweighs that, not to mention all the people that angry customer tells, and you lose that potential business, too. If any one of you went to a restaraunt, where you had to pay in advance before getting your food, and halfway through it, they took your food away, you'd be livid and I'm sure you wouldn't go back any time soon. Why allow that kind of behavior from any other company?
Edit: This is assuming they can't simply restore what was previously unlocked.
