Wow, I was so happy I got the Asari Adept unlocked....now I am worried I am going to lose her. I was playing MP to boost Galactic Readiness...now I am not so sure...hurm. Strange this bug did not come up during testing...maybe it was some code slapped on at the last minute?

So I take back what I said about Origin/EA support being not so great. I just spent about an hour with a very nice woman who took the time to read through my case file (that's been handled by about 6 other people now). She went and grabbed a manager and got him involved, where she accidentally left the phone off hold - I think she was a bit new. I got to listen to a manager describe the problem to her in the background, and he said that the support team was only recently handed anything on how to deal with the calls about this issue. He was giving her tips on how to talk to me to make me feel like "they were doing something for me" even though their "hands are tied by BioWare."

Even management (middle management, anyway) on the EA support side is somewhat in the dark about this. They treated me very well though, and actually comped me some nice things (worth 3 times what I lost in BioWare points), and a 15% store discount. This is the first time I actually believe I will get a call or email from them once this is resolved.

The reply I finally got from EA (A week after opening the ticket):

Thank you for writing to Electronic Arts.

We genuinely apologize for the delay in response and appreciate your interest in Mass Effect 3. Let us inform you that the issue which you have raised is already known to us. This is a known issue and our technical team is working on this issue. Also we advise you to prevent this from happening again by following the two steps below:

1.Avoiding going into the Store while 'Ready' for a multiplayer match. It's best to un-ready yourself before you go to the store.

2.Not accepting invites while in the store/purchasing

Regarding lost/relocked items – we cannot restore lost items at this time. This is part of what Bioware is working out, and updates to the situation can be gained from Bioware Social Network web site.

Please get assured about this issue that it is going to get solved very soon. We would appreciate your patience regarding the same.

We at Electronic Arts, assign pivotal importance to offer exceptional service to our customers and believe in exploring all the possibilities in doing so. However, we apologize for having disappointed you unintentionally. Your affiliation is valued by EA and requests it in the future. To know more about our online assistance, please visit: http://help.ea.com/

Regards,

EA support told me it was an issue that was going to get solved very soon too, but that was a week ago now. Bioware's post/workaround about it being the store/ready stuff really angers me since I wasn't in the store or even playing with anyone when it happened to me. Just looking over stuff that worked fine the prior day I was soloing silver best I could.

Yeah what will I get in compensation for the microsoft points I spent on this. In game credits is NOT good enough. I spent real cash, 100 dollars on that stuff. I will not be given some imaginary money back to spend to see if I can randomly unlock the stuff again. No I refuse that.

What more do you want? Microsoft will not allow them to refund you MS points.

That's not right though. We buy something on the store from the publisher but the product they published that we lost money through (because of a bug) is broke, and it's okay for them to keep our money?  If this is okay then all studios/publishers and console stores (though I bought my points through the PC) should all plot and scheme together to rip people off and keep their money.  It's a real ****ing convienant loophole for them.

They say a fix is in sight I just hope it is before this Goliath weekend.  Would be awesome to fight through silver with level 1 eveything and get a pack just to lose it to the bug again.

Jerret Lee just posted in the Goliath thread saying BW intend to restore anyone hit by the bug. Not sure what it really means, but I think it's good news for some. :)

I don't know why we weren't given an update sooner, but it's good to see or reaffirm that this is at least a priority to them.
I'm giddy at the prospect of playing, again.

Ditto here on all points.

Just make sure when you do start that you're playing against the reapers on silver or gold  ^_^

Or, maybe, you haven't lost money because our stuff is going to get restored.

I agree it's frustrating not to hear anything from them but I wouldn't assume the worst.

Let's hope you are right. I really dislike how they handle the community here. People on this thread waiting for info and they inform on another thread and somewhere in the middle too, not even a new thread exactly.

Interesting little tidbit, the post by Jarrett Lee that Raging Nug talked about may have indeed mentioned the re locking problem, however now that i go to look at it, it does not say anything about it, although if you look at the modified date, it was modified around 40 some seconds ago (for me when i looked, obviously it would be a bit longer now).......so yeah.

*Yep Nevermind found the post

It says: "
- The fix for kit relocking is going in soon, this weekend you should be in good shape (and we fully intend to restore anyone hit by that bug)"

I still see it showing and I refreshed the page. I just wish they'd state if it's okay to play the game NOW, or do we wait for this fix to appear as he said - "- The fix for kit relocking is going in soon, this weekend you should be in good shape (and we fully intend to restore anyone hit by that bug)"

Aye, if I knew I would get my unlocks back, I'd happily be playing multiplayer, but just in case, I am not so I'm sure nothing bad can happen.
