This is seriously one of the ****tiest customer experiences I have ever had.  I mean I had heard things about EA before, but just figured it was angry game nerds being angry game nerds.  This has really been something else. Sad to see their policies tarnish a good name like Bioware.

ironically, this is BIOWARES fault, NOT EA's. Your blaming the wrong ship. EA is not the developer of the game nor the ones responsible for taking the credits and not providing the items. The glitch was caused by BIOWARES coding, and nothing has been done by BIOWARE. it is BIOWARES TOS that are saying people will be banned not EA. EA has a bad rep sure but this is not their fault in any way shape or form.
...

No, don't blame the developers. The companies like ea, or bioware chiefs, limit the time for developers to develop, so there is no way to release good product without bugs, i've experienced it myself actually, and seems that's not only mine experience. Don't know much about situation in gamedev, who sets time limits, but may be that's ea again.

Some games got even worse situation.. i.e. try to play first version of skyrim.. list of currently active bugs fits in nearly 20 pages

People seem to be missing the mark here. It is not just EA OR Bioware's fault - it's both of theirs. Bioware is responsible for the actual coding of the game, including the glitch that initially caused everyone to lose their items. While they apparently fixed it from happening to new people, they've done nothing publicly to show that they're going to do any more than that.

Where this is EA's fault is simple: EA owns Bioware now. Therefore, they have taken over support, billing, etc. So, they COULD refund people's purchases with actual money since the transactions, while called Bioware points, actually go through Origin. All that they would have to do is look at the amount of points people bought, refund those, and then remove their names from the list of people affected instead of keeping them waiting. The in-game credits are a little harder to track, but not outside of their capabilities.

I don't hate Bioware. This is their first time of trying to make ME have an online portion. Where I feel that they royally screwed up is not even in releasing a product with bugs - hell, anyone who has ever installed Windows is still a beta tester after 3 newer versions were released. Where Bioware has possibly done themselves a lot of damage is in not having any dialogue with their customers. It was good of them to send out a mail when the bug was first noted - MAIL. It was not a forum thread, there was never any contact information posted, but rather a one-way message saying that they were working on things. People have asked on dozens of pages across multiple threads for even updates, let alone results, and Bioware has said and done NOTHING. Now, EA looks like they're not doing anything, and in reality, they could be doing more than they have. But it comes down to money at this point - they won't refund things that they don't have to. You bought points, not items, and at that, you perhaps more accurately "leased" the privilege to use items on their servers. You never owned any of it. But with how they've handled this, they most likely won't own any more money from a lot of people who have been left in the dark. The tragic thing for both sides in this is that they have screwed over people who so very badly wanted to use their products and are now losing customers over it. Your move, Bioware - better do something.

If you used a credit card to buy bioware points and then got ripped off by this bug you can contact your bank or credit union that issued the card and explain to them what happened.  They are usually able to get your money back.

Sounds good.  I might be doing this.  Do you get just the extra cash back, or for the game too?  I might give Bioware a few more days to see if they can do something, and if not I will do this.

Thanks for the info.

I know the feeling.  I actually started the game up yesterday thinking they had it fixed and it was worth a shot.  I made it through 6 games.  After 3, I got a spectre pack, and after the next 3 my account was reset again.

With the exception of not re-unlocking Black Widow, I've surpassed everything I had before.I'd still like my credits back (a week's worth of playing). Which will never happen. **** YOU BIOWARE.

The problem isn't fixed.  You also apparently can't spell "whining". Also the only thing special in here is you trying to grasp the situation.  Hope that clears everything up for your simple mind.

Hey hey calm down! Not all of us can read the date of a post. How could he possibly know that people still having that issue after the "fix".

Yes. But calling it profanity is an overstatement.

Edit: Oh you meant the "****" thing. Then, well answer is: yes. I found it interesting as well. I guess using it is not "constructive criticism".

Nope, you're wrong, I've lost 2 premium spectre packs (198,000 credits) to this bug. I was not readied up, and one of the two times I wasn't in a lobby. EA Support said to post here about it. Yay.
