It's real. I actually did get an item back, despite my earlier post--a level one Scorpion, which I lost and had never unlocked. It's in my weapons menu now, but not flagged as a new item so I had no idea it was there.

I'm on 360, got my stuff back yesterday. I did talk to EA support the night I lost my stuff, so maybe that's why some are getting things back and others didn't??
A little communication during the fix process would have gone a long way. On the bright side, I don't need to worry about missiles or medigel for the foreseeable future.

And I did have a ticket with customer support about this, so obviously it isn't solely connected to that.

It's additive. If you had say, Widow II and got re-locked then got it back up to Widow V, the fix would give you Widow VII. If you re-leveled a weapon to X, then you get nothing since it can't go any higher.
Consumable capacity upgrades are also additive. After losing my stuff, I had unlocked all capacities up to 5. After the fix I can carry like 7 missiles and 8 medigels.
Consumables appear to work differently. In my case at least, it appears they just gave me however many missiles, medigel, etc that I had unlocked since I guess they can't track how many I actually used.

Overall I can't say I'm happy with the solution, the only happiness comes from the fact that I won't have to keep contacting them and reading this thread.
One month of waiting, no communication with us and semi-satisfying resolution. :/

I don't really see a reason why support this company by buying their products.
When others do everything they can to appease their customers.
Just today I downloaded a free enhanced-edition update for a great game, which had all it's DLC for free. When I bought it, it cost 2/3 of the cost of ME3 and there were no deluxe and normal editions, the very basic version was deluxe.
So much contrast in all aspects with this game which imo tried to sell even it's ending.
That's a bit too much for me.

Sorry for your loss. I didn't touch the game till I got my items back.
I even left the starter pack behind when I got reset.

It took 3 weeks, the creation of multiple tickets due to getting nothing but the run around from the worst customer service I’ve had the displeasure to deal with, submitting a complaint with BBB, and sending PM’s to moderators.
This experience has left me with a bad taste in my mouth, and I doubt I will purchase another product from EA/Bioware ever again.
