Frankly speaking, I'm posting just to bump the thread. Maybe if we all yell loud enough, EA/Bioware will get the message. Because, really? This is a showstopper. We've spent time and money on our unlocks. Yeah, bugfixing takes time, but this kind of thing needs to take priority.
Like other folks have reported, my stuff went partially poof at the very start of the match - my weapons were equipped, but my mods weren't working. The weapons went away after the match ended and I checked my screens. I don't know if that information helps, but until this gets fixed, I'm not starting my game to troubleshoot.

Exactly. Folks have spent money. That's the key thing. If it were just time and in-game currency, that'd be a different story. Bad enough, sure. But the fact they're taking cash and then BOOM BUG HAHA NO STUFF escalates this to a totally different level.
They need to promise they will fix this. They need to promise we'll get our stuff or money/credits back. There's been no reassurance from 'em that they'll do that. Saying they're aware of the situation and looking into it isn't a promise of compensation.
Some sort of clear transparent communication to us would do a lot to calm folks and put people's minds at ease. Without that, we're just hanging. Because really, until I get my ME3 stuff back, I'm not spending a single cent more on Origin, SWTOR subscriptions, or anything else to do with EA or Bioware. That's not a threat or a ragequit nerd-rant, that's a simple objective statement. Why should I conduct an economic transaction with someone who won't honour that - even if my being cheated is due to simple incompetence?

sorta faith shaking in bioware that we don't even have a reassurance they will compensate us for money/time lost. If this was riot, valve or blizzard not only would it probably be fixed already but we'd have a promise that they would make it up to us.

Let's be realistic guys. They're not gonna compensate for "lost time". You may have spent time earning the creds to unlock a kit, but bugs happen, lost time happens, it's not a truly big deal even if it is a disappointment.
On the other hand, it's not acceptable that it's possible to lose BioWare Points due to this, as these points are a representation of real world money. They need to have some sort of accounting log that shows redemptions - it should be easy to sort out who paid bioware points for kits and then either credit the accounts or give additional ingame kits to compensate.

Just did a few experiments with the characters and what not. Apparently, on my end at least, the character and weapons still exist on my account, to an extent. I was able to re-unlock one of my characters and they still had the same weapons (with their mods) and abilities as before I had my items relocked. When i went into a game, however, the weapons were reverted to the basic starter weapons. This was the BF3 character, though, so I was not able to see if it had any changeable colors and what not. I will keep trying to unlock my other stuff to further trying to find fixes.

I'm sure they are working as quickly as possible to resolve the issue. I just wish they would acknowledge the players that lost their Bioware Points and state that they will do something to compensate or at least refund the amount spent.
Otherwise, it probably would have to go to the Better Business Bureau. I hope things turn out beneficial for everyone!

I was told that my points were being refunded not more than 30 minutes ago by EA support but after seeing this thread I am starting to wonder about that.

Well, if a wow account lost all its gold and items I assure you blizzard would get them back, so I'm not sure they wont compensate us for credits lost. Even if bioware can't give our stuff back they can at least give back the bio points, I'm sure they track when they were spent and what they were spent on.

Honestly though if they don't refund the points I am just going to contact my bank and challenge the charges.

Of course I was already lied to by EA Support last night when I was told all my items were going to be restored and to just wait 24 hours. So my faith in this whole process is dwindling quickly.

@kesek, unfortunately we are dealing with EA here, not blizzard. I mean EA didn't even manage to create separate files for the sp and mp part of the game (see topics about hackers). They are greedy amateurs and the fact people are still allowed to redeem bw/ms points proves it.

Add me to the list, lost all my weps, mods etc.. Spent 800 bioware points I had on some packs too.. Nice stuff Bioware/EA.. If the ending to your game wasn't bad enough, the fact that we can just randomly lose all of our stuff in multiplayer is rifreakingdiculous.
I want full compensation, or else the bank will be hearing from me and you lose another customer, as if you haven't lost enough from this entire debacle.
What a bunch of amateur idiots. Yah, release a game in beta form.. mmm

Just lost my all my gear (my black widow, nooooooo!), amounting to 400 BWP of spectre packs. Talked to an online rep about it last night, and he told me to restart me computer in safe mode, and then promptly ended the chat...
This smells of legal action if Bioware doesn't offer some form of compensation.

Let's not be silly, you aren't going to sue them for your bioware points, but it WOULD be nice to get a solution to this ASAP and some redemption for what was lost.

EA support, for the most part, is a complete joke. They barely speak english, and seem to be trained with only the most basic of problems. I wouldn't put too much faith into anything they say unless you get escalated to some kind of game or account specialist.
Anyways, Bioware/EA probably hasn't replied yet because they don't even know HOW they can fix it yet... or if they will be able to find out who needs reimbursement. It would be bad PR to come out as soon as there is a problem and say "yeah we'll reimburse those who paid for bioware points," when they don't know if they actually can. And if they come out and say "We haven't figure out how we can reimburse you yet," the press will (as is their nature) change that into "Bioware not reimbursing paid-for unlocks."
Anyways, I work in software/app production and development... and a bug like this is show-stopping. Any kind of system where a customer can irreversibly lose any kind of data is the #1 bug you look for and make failsafes for.. Bugs where your character glitches out and falls through the world... not nearly as big of a deal or priority in bugtesting as straight up data loss/corruption. This really shows that EA rushed the game before it was ready. Having such widespread data loss/corruption bugs like this is a gigantic no-no. It should be understood that things get really complex in game development with marketing and multi-platform releases... but this is completely unacceptable. EA needs to change their system or they are going to see increasingly rapid diminishing returns.

This happened to me a few nights ago, after I spent some money on the packs. The problem does seem to be in the store when a game starts. When I tested it after I lost everything it reset again. I was told to post here and voice my concern. Oddly enough I was playing an unlocked character at the time of the reset, and while he is locked I can still play him, so long as I don't switch characters I think. But I think I'm going to wait to play until this issue is resolved.

Why couldn't we? EA/Bioware is acquiring illegal funds based on the fact that the product we payed for is being lost because of their incompetence.
If there's no compensation, then screw em. Especially considering that it's been days and not a single response has come down the pike except "we know it's happening". That's not a promise to refund us or compensate us, it's a vague "We have a dude bug testing this in his off time" as they still are accepting Bio points for unlocks. Pathetic and shady business practices don't deserve patience imo.
