I see a lot of people mentioning the BF3 unlock.   Has this happened to people who don't have the BF3 character?

If you have had this problem and do NOT have the BF3 pack, post here so we can troubleshoot this a little for them.

Also, has anyone noticed if there is a connect between origin's cloud feature and our resetting accounts?

I am on 360, and don't have the BF3 Pack. Happened to me while in Store.

Mine had nothing to do with the store (or BF3 Pack) either. I finished a match and got the "Welcome to Multiplayer" splash screen.

 Well for what it's worth, I lost:

-Geth Plasma Plasma Shotgun II

-Graal Spike Thrower II

-Arc Pistol II

-Predator IV

-A few Mod upgrades (too many to count)

The strange thing is that I still have my Shuriken VII and Mantis V, but everything else has been reset :x

PS: This is on the 360.

EDIT: I've been reading that people post when they've spent money on this, so I might as well say that I put $10 into the Spectre Packs.

I just lost my lvl 16 Asari Vanguard, Reverant, and Geth Shotgun because of this. I didn't see this thread till now, but I think I got hit by it when I hit the store button just as a match started by accident..Will a patch be fixing this? I'm on the PC, no BF3 pack

Lost a whole bunch of my stuff. Thankfully it wasn't too much, but now I am reluctant to play anymore multiplayer in case it overrides the content that I have earned if there is some sort of fix for it or any way I am going to get my gear back.

Hearing some sort of information about whether or not our unlockables are salvageable would be really nice to hear. I'm poking the Mass Effect twitter account right now to see if I can get some answers.

EDIT: Nope. No answers.

I spent $20 Spectre kits and after a match I get the welcome screen and all of my gear is gone. I had almost every character unlocked and a bunch of weapons now all I have is the male and female humans and their levels.

I'm on the xbox 360. Right now I really want to play mp, but I'm afraid that I lose all my unlocks again....hopefully BioWare can fix this because it really puts a dark side to this game especially after the day 1 DLC...

Yeah, everything I had is gone. 40 dollars worth of gear now gone. I took my LAST chance with this when buying Bioware points to have fun in mp. That was shot down fast. :( Add me to the list.

In the same situation.

At the very least BioWare/EA have to refund BioWare points spent. Time is harder to track, and I'm not sure if ingame credits are tracked, but a refund of all biowarepoints/creds would be enough to satisfy me.

Word of warning: If the N7 page shows up, DON'T TAKE THE STARTER PACK. Just close the game. Taking the starter pack causes the bug.

Edit: This may not be accurate, since the starter pack showing up may just be a symptom of having your account reset. But why take the chance?


yes, this is how i lost my gear as well. strange though, i played in two sessions, and when i accepted the pack, i lost the gear from my first session, which also included a spare 800 points i had lying around. would be nice if ea would advise of whether restoration is possible or refunds will be issued.

Just happened to me as well... I quit a MP game (playing silver lvl difficulty with a ****ty wepaon is NOT fun!) e voila... my unlocks gone - sigh...

N7 Level 153 or so... bought mostly Spectre packs... just got reset.

Even spent 10 bucks on them cuz I figured I was spending so much time on the game it was worth it.

On the contrary, they absolutely should compensate for lost time. If people are arbitrarily losing stuff and have to start over again with no hope of help from Bioware on the matter, you're not going to see people sticking around in multiplayer.

On the other hand, it's not acceptable that it's possible to lose BioWare Points due to this, as these points are a representation of real world money. They need to have some sort of accounting log that shows redemptions - it should be easy to sort out who paid bioware points for kits and then either credit the accounts or give additional ingame kits to compensate.


There's no reason that people who paid credits instead of points shouldn't receive the same treatment.

There is also no reason that EA support staff should be blatantly lying to customers just so they can close support tickets. That was the whole reason I chose to challenge my credit card charges.
