Start fights in caster form, cast Blood Magic, Blood Wound, Blood Control, a few other spells from main four schools, preferably more AoE/CC, and as soon as health gets low, shift into Insect Swarm and fly around the room regaining all the health you just lost. Anyone try a strategy similar to what I'm describing and can say anything about its relative win and/or fail content?

did not tried that but is not worth... when you transform you lose all your sustained spells, swarm is quite vulnerable and it lose mana when hit, it have a (nice) aoe attack but that draws lot of aggro (bad for a bm) so you risk to find yourself with low health, no sustained spells and no mana with mobs on you

is way more efficent to use blood sacrifice and heal your comrades immediatly (SH works well for that) or just to jump out of bm, heal up, cast a bit using mana and go back in bm mode when is up

if you keep your fatigue low and pay attention you should have not many problems running low on health/mana at all and you keep full mage functionality

You are better of giving Leliana/Zevran as second Specialization the Ranger.

When your Bloodmage is low on health suck the life out of the Summon and your are back in the game!

And if the Summon died, then just sumon the next one *g

Obviously the only drawback - the cast time- is apparent in both strategys; so theres no real drawback in comparison and in favor the Ranger-suck version

ranger pets are good for blood sacrifice as they generally have lot of hps, but you dont need to use necessary them or to risk them, generally is pretty safe to use sacrifice on ranged chars (lel, wyn, morry) as they can stay out of the heart of the battle and dont draw that much aggro (well with a good tank ofc :P)

True, but casting a spell with wolf blood is surely more satisfying? :)

? you refer to " casting spells as long as you are a wolf"?

i think that doesnt work. As long as you are shapeshifted you even loose all sustained spells/talents.
