I understand that the code of conduct was changed recently to prevent future jerkasses from harassing people the way Jennifer Hepler was recently harrassed, and I'm glad for the new policy, but is there any way to disable the notification? I get an annoying popup whenever I return to the forum index.

Just to be certain, are you talking about the popup that takes over the middle of your screen and darkens the rest of the site behind it or are you talking about the message that shows up at the top of each forum page?

The popup is tied to a cookie and should be popping up maximum of once a week unless you have something clearing out your cookies. Which web browser are you using? Do you have any browser add-ons that might cause this?

It's the lightbox popup, Jeff. And because of the persistent login issues, there's no way to properly access the site half of the time unless the cookies are deleted on a daily base. Which causes it to appear every time you log in again.

Yeah, it's the popup that covers the middle of the screen and darkens the edges.

I'm using the stock IE 9 with no add-ons and I haven't cleared my cookies for about a week now.

I think that I've figured it out. It happens when I return to the forum index via the back button (my usual method). But it doesn't happen when I click on the "Forum Home" button at the top of the page.

Somebody better fix it then, I use my thumb button for going back, and that pop-up better friggen disappear!!!

I get the "darkens the screen" popup on every single page when Im on my iPhone. It makes the site virtually useless, especially since the popup moves itself around the screen as you move on the page in the browser window.
