Wait, how the hell can you have him not kill Thane? The cutscene just played out for me, with me having no role in it?

Kai Leng got what he deserved, beating on and subsequently killing poor, mostly defenseless Thane.  For me it happened right after the bit with Mordin which already had me riled up.  I was waiting the entire game to finally put that 'effer in the ground.

II actually loved that bit. Was the perfect balance of "Alright, so Thane has to lose for emotional effect" and "But so help me, he'll do it in style". I thought that, given Thane's crippling medical condition, he was incredibly far from defenceless

I knew he was going to die, I just knew it, but as cool as the CQC was, I was just staring going like. . . So is anyone going to HELP the dying drell or WHAT? XD

I understand why they did it, and fundamentally it was a cool scene, but I felt like Thane's death was kind of unecessary.  At that point in the story.  He had to die eventually whether on or off scene.  No way a BAMF like Thane would just straight up die of Keprals alone.  But to me the whole scene just felt wrong.  Of course I'm biased.  Thane's my #1 LI.

Killing Kai-Leng while yelling "This is for Thane you SOB!" was deff icing on the cake specially cause my fem shep romanced Thane

One of 2 renegade choices I made through the whole game and it was so worth it.

Even as I initiated the action, I was shouting at my TV "This is for Thane!", only to hear Shepard echo my exact words... well it was a fist-pumping, epic moment.

In response to the OP, yea that was a really damn satisfying interrupt. I wonder what happens if you don't interrupt. Game over? =P

That sequence was especially funny for me. I was playing a Vanguard on Hardcore mode. Basically I just carried around a shotgun and had my melee damage increased 100%. With the charge ability that decreases re-charge time by 200% after a successful heavy melee kill I was almost playing a 3rd person brawler and not a shooter.

Anyways I was charging Kai Leng and pretty much taking out half of his life-bar/shield-bar with one successful melee attack. I got him down to a sliver of life and was about to stab him when he exploded.

Apparently Garrus had had enough of the cocky SOB that was all talk and concussion shot him to pieces from across the room. I could see and hear him in my head shrugging nonchalantly and saying, "That's why you don't bring a sword to a gun fight Shephard." I never wanted to high five Garrus more. I could see Kai Lengs bloody head rolling around the floor and had a good laugh. Silly ninja with a sword and throwing stars. They might have been effective against a terminally ill Drell that couldn't breathe dressed in casual clothes, but come on against a heavily armored space marine and turian with lethal guns...the whole concept of Kai Leng was silly in the ME universe.

Anyways I had a good laugh after he T-1000'ed himself together only to be stabbed again.

Indeed. That was one of those moments where even my 100% Paragon Shepard has to go for the Renegade Interrupt. Just too good a moment to pass up.

I also Renegade Interrupted Udina back on the Citadel, but that was a reflex action. I thought he was gonna shoot the councilor.

I cant seem to remember shep said when he shanked him but I think he brought up khirahe

also Im not sure its best... it has competition with the udina one

IIRC, when you talk to her in the Spectre Office, warn her about Kai Leng then.

Poor Thane That was an awesome interrupt though, the lighting and angle and everything was perfect.
I was a little confused by the interrupts this time around though. Half the time you had no idea what they were gonna do. And if you don't use it at the end you get a critical mission failure >.<

I thought something like that would play too and so let it and Shepard dodges the sword and it gets stuck on the keyboard. Then it goes like with the interrupt, Shepard gets up, Omniblade deploying, "This is for Thane, you son of a _____!", *SATISFACTION!*.
