So CS is no help, have spent 7+ hours cruising the forums and trying everything suggested and still can not get the game to load (see Activation window hit 80%ish, dings a few times, get black screen, then game crashes about 2 seconds in). Since it appears that no Bioware rep will even acknowledge that there is an issue, I'm done.
I loved ME1 and 2, but I think this will be my last Bioware game.
Good luck to you all, but I give up.
I give up, attempting to get a refund.

I've changed so much on my system that I hope I can get it back to "normal" so all my other stuff works properly.
I can handle bugs/issues/etc, but when after 2 days no one from the company can even deem to post that they recognize there is an issue, I see no use in continuing to try.
I see Reps responding to all kinds of inane posts, but real technical problem posts go ignored...pfft. Loved ME1/2, DA:O, the older BG series, but it seems now the cash cow is consoles and the PC users can go jump in a lake. Oh well, such is life.

Are you getting the awc.dll or EACore.dll issue as well?
I was wondering why that window dinged twice and closed at 80%...are those related?

Yes, they are the same issue

I'm about to do the same thing, honestly. I need to lower my graphics settings in order to get the game to run anywhere near smoothly, and no one will even acknowledge that.

I'd rather play the game on low settings than not be able to play at all.

At least you can get the game to load...

I'm about to talk to CS in 5 minutes, I'm going to request that they disable the 'date release check' after I give them my product keys and see what happens, if they are not at least working on the issue, then I'm getting a refund. This is preposterous.

I've been waiting in line on the customer support for awhile. I have like 15 minutes left. Give them hell man! And make sure to link them to a bunch of these threads, let them know this is no small problem.

Don't blame you. Incredibly disappointed in this release compared to previous Bioware games. I got my copy to install but crashes about every 15 minutes.

I sent a tweet and facebook post to them stating
"And so it begins. Good job, you deserve it. http://bit.ly/wXalNj @EA @bioware @masseffect"
The link is a link to this topic. @masseffect was the only one to respond, it was as follows.
"Be sure to tell us what you think!"
I think my mind snapped a little when I read that. I refuse to buy another game after this horrendous service. And as all good businessmen/politicians know, 1 persons opinion = 10000 people. So you just lost 10000 sales.

Yeah this is getting ridiculous. I have the same activation issue, and it's just ridiculous that no one is even trying to reply, say a "hey we see its a huge issue we're working on it. Just CS who, i know jus doing their jobs, say the same lines over and over again.

Has anyone tried reinstalling C++ Redist 2008, Direct-X, PhysX, and their video drivers? Didn't see it mentioned so thought I'd throw that out there.

No not solved, my old PC is a piece of junk that can't really run the game.

Yes, every single driver is up to date... some (i.e. A LOT) of people just got screwed with the encryption-deencryption process.

I haven't experienced this problem, so I've no idea why, my system is top-line tho.
Just a suggestion, but if you can't legitimately get access to your game, why not track a crack or fixed exe? If you bought it and you can't play, do what you can to make it work.

I was having the same issue but what worked turned out to be really simple.
If you haven't tried this, give it a shot.
Open Origin. Go to the settings symbol (or maybe it says Settings)
untick where it gives Origin access while the game is playing. Once I did that, it worked perfect. If you cant find what I am talking about let me know and I will go upstairs on that computer and check and write exactly what it is.

Once more, you say simple, but it's not. That does not work for me or many of the others.
