And in every war no matter what you do everyone on all sides die. No matter what decisions or actions you've taken in the past five years, every last soul dies. It's good to see so many historians around.

ME3 endings leaves us with little to no change in the ending.. There is no point in playing it again at least with Me1 and 2 we have full control of the ending... Im sorry but Bioware really put together horrible endings
Agreed, I have six saves on ME1 and Seven on ME2 each with completely different endings. For ME3 playing it again is liek playing a scripted shooter, because you know no matter what you do ,who you save or kill, it all ends the same. it kinda ruins ME1 and 2, beacuse all those choices that were carfully made in hopes of seeing a satisfying result, will all come to **** regardless of your choices.
My biggest issue is destruction of relays no matter what, I thought about during three boring hours of Anatomy lectures and couldn`t find one logical reason as why they couldn`t be saved. to be honest with relays saved and even with few choices like this people could use imagination to come up with fitting ends to there favorite characters.

One glove fits all shooter. Generic story telling for ME3.

You'd think after the DA2 debacle they'd have been more careful with what was their flagship franchise, but no. Midnight release, and the money spent on Collector's Edition...I feel robbed from the lack of effort put into the ending cinematics.
The end cinematics are THE SAME with different color and graphic effect. I will be more cautious with Bioware games in the future.

Just feel let down. After DA2 and forcing me to install Origin, I really won't day 1 purchase any bioware games anymore.

I romanced Tali (should be obvious)
But with cutscenes like the Time Capsule Box, the "let me show you something" before the final push to the Citadel elevator, and his final thoughts before dieing being of (Anderson - understandable, Joker - K..., Liara - Not my LI why didn't I think of the woman I loved?). I felt like you kind of got robbed if you romanced anyone but Liara.

Here is my issue...and let me explain something.
I WAS prepared for the worst (personal) I expected my Shep to die not knowing what paramets needed to be met for the so called "perfect ending"...I expected allies to die...hell I wouldn't have been shocked if my romance had died on the last mission.
1. All endings have the EXACT same cutscene with one difference...the graphical effect from a red laser to a electrical pulse. (That IMO is just F'N LAZY)
2. All this hype about how every decision was building up to THIS END, and realistically the only difference is how many people live or die by games end. That's it. People get vaporized when you hit the red button @ the end if not properly prepared to take on Reapers. I have ZERO reason to play this again knowing that ultimately i'm getting SEE REASON #1
3. Being prepared for casualties even with my War Asset bar completely filled, no matter what the amazing world (lore/universe) that had been masterfully crafted over 3 games IS NOW GONE..."Oh but Rhayth they can rebuild." With what f'n tools? With what authority in place? Now you have the gathered UNIVERSAL ARMY stranded in the Sol sector unable to return home. "Oh well they could still make the trips to their universe it would just take longer" Ummm it was plainly stated they don't have the fuel capacity to take a trip from one sector to the other. Another words...they are stuck in their current system...EXCEPT FOR NORMANDY because for some reason unknown to me THEY MADE A MASS RELAY JUMP IN THE MIDDLE OF BATTLE...WHY?!?!?! Why did the Normandy flee the battlefield in the middle of combat? Where were they going? Did Joker think he needed some condoms for his VI sex doll?
4. I brought Tali with me on the final mission being my love interest and all I felt it better she be at my side instead of my Shep's mind wondering if she was ok elsewhere...but somehow she ended up on the Normandy (SIDE NOTE: they had time to pick her up, and then book it to the relay?)
5. No matter what choices I make these 3 endings with different graphics affects has ultimately killed ANY replayability because no matter what I know the cutscene will always be the same...not even the dark gritty outcome...just the same f'n cinematic only diff being the graphic effect.
6. The "disney" ending is what we call the payoff...It's for the countless hours making sure we did everything within our power to get the best possible ending (for me @ the very least with the universe still intact) AND to see how my Shep's choices would affect the world in FUTURE games that have been mentioned. None of that really matters cause no matter what the majority of all intelligent species is trapped on Earth...and Joker has a band of survivors from the Normandy with minimal resources and knowledge of the planet to know how to best survive.
Speaking of this Normandy crash survivor thing...for those of you "They still have guns to go find food." They crashed so i'm sure people died in that crash, they have some weapons, but no knowledge of the eco system or the living sentients of the planet...what is eatable what isn't...I'm sure "surviving mysterious alien planet" wasn't in the boy scouts...and even genius don't know everything off the top of their head.
7. Shepard the guy who took 2 people against WHOLE ARMIES, who couldn't be stopped by Terrorist groups, Mercenaries, Politicians, Saren, Sovereign, Collectors, THRESHER MAW, finally hits a road block...you know the most important one of them all.
My issue with the ending is the whole dark age thing (destroying the Mass Relays no matter which route you go) and ultimately destroying a wonderful universe that still had so much potential, and new conflicts would grow (as it's stated so many times in the series).
Keep in mind I loved every minute of this game until I walked into that fancy elevator into the Citadel. I will NEVER...NEVER...buy another Collector's Edition game AGAIN. Don't tell me how this is my story, my choices, and varying outcomes. Because that's what was promised. That this game was gonna have so many different potential outcomes. It has 3...not many varying based on decisions...3...I'm fine with a dark ending, but that was ridiculous. I should have let the first enemy I saw kill me...woulda done about as good.
Thanks for the ride I loved it, loved the chars, loved the action, loved the aliens, loved the romance...but please don't kick me in the gonads on the way out.
Great post. I am furious about the ending(s). I finished ME1 and ME2 over the last week and even went as far as taking time off work to enjoy ME3. Everything was great until the elevator scene in the Citadel. I'm done with Bioware. This is my first post on these forums. I logged in here just to express how disappointed I was.
Who knows. Maybe that's what they wanted.

So is there actually an ending where Shepard can live?
There's articles stating that it is a possibility, but I have yet to 'see' video that confirms this. Perhaps it was in the works at one point, but they ran out of time? Could also explain why the ending was so bad.

After the scene with the grandpa and kid talking it snaps to a short vid where you hear Sheppard groaning in some rubble. I can't quite recall but I believe the rubble also moves a bit. Guess I'll go see if I can snap a video of it.

I tried to do a replay. I got past the first mission, the escape from Earth, but I just couldn't do it knowing that no matter what i did, no matter what choices I made I have NO OTHER ENDING OTHER THAN LOSING.
I agree. I don't understand it. If they put development resources into online play (employees, IT, etc.) why not give players more incentive to actually use it? It would have been better to scrap the online component and put more resources into a better ending of the series - at least one that gives value into going through the game again. What's the point of having all of these choices if I never want to touch the game again after the first playthrough?

Just watched that; what's it supposed to be, a Crank-style ending?

I dunno...it's not even about Shep living...i'm more angered by the loss of the Relays than per-say a happy ending.
Shepard living/dying isn't a dealbreaker for me. Even with the reaper threat eliminated I'm not sure if that would be a happy ending. You have the destruction that has already taken place and the potential issues that the Catalyst laid out.
I don't want to write the script for the ending. That's not what I am trying to communicate. I finished ME1 and ME2 wanting to play through the game(s) over and over. That was amplified for ME3 until I hit the last 20 minutes of the game. Now I never want to touch ME3 again and as crazy or trivial as it may sound the ending(s) had that much of an impact on me. I just wanted to post something on here to Bioware expressing my discontent.
The ending video is the same exact same footage with different colors for the relays. It's the same regardless of the choices you make and whether you put 10 hours into the game or 50 hours into the game. Fast forward to the cutscene of the Normandy crash site and you get slight variation there. My cutscene had Joker, EDI, and Liara. The Synthesis ending had Joker and EDI with a side hug while the other two alternative endings gave the same animation(s) that everyone has seen with different characters (minus the side hug). Liara seems to be in every video which makes no sense since she was in my group during the final approach to the beam. That Destroyer obliterates everything in the area and the Normandy somehow swoops in and picks her up.
The loss of relays for every ending is also infuriating. Apparently Earth being destroyed is a possible ending. So Earth and Mass Relays being destroyed with 90%+ of spacecraft in the universe being stuck in the Sol system is a possible ending .... GG.
I can honestly say that I 'was' excited to play through the game again. It kept going through my mind at different points. "What if I did this instead?" Or took a different approach/mindset with my character in the game. I can discover every planet on ME1/ME2, complete every mission/DLC in ME1/ME2, max Paragon or Renegade, etc. What does it get me? The same garbage ending as the person who picks up ME3, no character imported/zero investment in their characters, and in theory could just spam through the dialogue (greatly reducing playtime) completing minimal content.
I feel like invested fans of the series deserved better than that. Maybe I'm asking too much.

All the races united, and now that the reaper threat is gone, they work to rebuild the relays. The relays basically mean that there will be no way to create an immediate follow up since it would take perhaps a hundred + years to rebuild them.
