I really want to play a Rogue. But I heard that there was something wrong with Dex for rogues/wars on the Xbox version where they didn't get any kind of bonus from Dex? And also, I honestly didn't know this game was for PC just thought it was a console game lol. I am a WoW veteran and keybindings are my friend. Only having 6 slots to use moves for the entire game just seems kine of harsh to me. Is the PC version good enough to go out and buy a 2nd one?

You'll have a lot more control and micro-management options on the PC. For example, giving simultanous movement commands while paused is really crucial.

And you can zoom out the camera and rotate it upwards so you can actually see all the enemies. The game is more difficult too.

Unofficial dexterity fix with explanation of the problem:

Huzzah! Youve seen the light, the game functions as a whole far more fantasticly on the PC. When you have your PC copy maybe you should think about getting rid of your xbox and helping in the everlasting battle to bring down the console empire! :)

Wow, that's cut from the console version? I can think of quite some battles I would have had no chance to win that way.

There are only two reasons I can see for playing DA:O on console over PC:

1. Achievements/Trophies add to your gamerscore/PSN identity

2. If your computer's hardware is too old to play the game. Or your graphics adaptor just died or something :(

Yeah my comp is great, I play WoW on it. No you can't issue multiple commands. My mage is in Redcliffe and I keep yelling "HEY TANK! GO GET THE FCKING MOBS INSTEAD OF STANDING HRE" because I refuse to pause, issue 1 command, switch chars, pause, issue 1 command, switch chars...

Thanks for all the advice, I actually just got back from walmart, installing now! =p I do have a question though, the Dex patch...is it official or just a mirror that was linked earlier in this thread? And does it work like WoW addons for extracting/installing?

Random Edit: The only way to target is either to run up to the mobs face, or cycle through every possible target, ally including, using the D-pads. It gets frustrating lol.

Man I knew there would be something screwed up about the console version. I really found it strange that you couldn't give simultanous movement commands in the game, but I just though "well I guess they didn't find it necessary".

So many times I get pissed of at my party members for just standing there looking dumb (and yes, I use the tactics system). And now you tell that there is a better system but only on the PC, WTF?
I wanted the PC version all along but my comp can't handle it, but I didn't think that the console version would acctually be inferior to the PC version in gameplay. Epic fail Bioware!!! :crying:

Btw, can you have more spells/talent binded in the PC vers. as well? Cause I'm annoyed there are only six binds.

I've only seen screenshots, but you have an actual action bar on the PC version I think. Not the "3 buttons, hit RT, 3 buttons," crap with the console version.

And I know EXACTLY what you mean. I have everyone's tactics set up, nearest visible do X or Y etc, and they just stand there literally until I switch to them and attack, or my main char gets hit, then they go into the fight . I'm really looking forward to playing the PC version.

Yeah, well I probably play through my second time, then I will wait untill I can get a better PC (if that ever happens) and then I will buy the game on PC and play it again

DA is just not made for a console. There are games that are perfect for that platform - think of the god of war series, various beat em ups... None of them would be that fun with mouse and keyboard.

Likewise, there are tons of games I just cannot imagine to play with a controller, and DA is one of them.

Yeah, I think I may have to pickup the PC version too. I used to be a PC only player, for any games, but I ended up getting a 360 last summer and find the big screen TV and kicking back on the couch so comfy. Gonna have to get the PC hooked up to the big screen too.
