hey, maybe this should go in the character forum, oh well

so I am currently playing through mass one again to prepare a specific import for three.

it's been a while since I played mass one especially as a femshep so I've forgotten a lot of it
 
I want femshep to remain single without nuking kaidan or being a massive ****** to liara and kaidan

i remember once reading a miniguide or something to that effect somewhere, about what options to pick in dialogue to avoid romancing liara and kaidan. apparently you don't have to be a massive ****** or all out ignore them, there are specific dialogue options you can pick? but i have misplaced the link to this

so please tell me if you know, how do i avoid initiating a romance with kaidan and liara?

I don't know about Kaidan because he's never been a problem for me.

Liara has a glitch with the "I'm not interested" dialogue choice that will lock you into the romance. To avoid it, choose the "Let's be friends" dialogue instead. I only know of one person who had a glitch with the friends dialogue too. I haven't tried it myself, but for most people, it works just fine. The way to be completely sure is recruiting her last, after Virmire. Her romance dialogues won't have a chance to start.

I don't think it's too hard with Kaidan. Even if you shoot him down the first time he shows interest, you can still talk to him after that, and it doesn't have lasting effects.

Liara is really easy to avoid, just flat-out say you want to be friends and that's good enough.
