...and I was right. Little did I know that siding with the Geth would end up with the entire Migrant Fleet getting wiped out and cause Tali to commit suicide. I figured that Heavy Fleet would get wiped out, which I was happy with, but everyone? Daaaayum. Unexpected.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else sided with the Geth, and how they felt about the outcome. I ask mostly because I know that a bunch of people prefer the Quarians over the Geth.

I feel awful about it, but I laughed when Tali committed suicide.

...I'm such an awful person. And I actually LIKE her.

I got them to coexist peacefully. The moment was very heartwarming and gave my army hope that we could do the impossible...because we already did.

Too bad we had to lose Legion in the process. :crying:

I really hope it is possible to mod Tali out of that scene and replace her with other characters. I can quickly see that becoming a hilarious meme.

I sided with the Geth too, the Quarians seriously are (well, were in my case) a bunch of morons. I tried to convince them to not attack the Geth in ME2 and they went head on with that in ME3, and to make things worse with the most dumb battle plan ever: jerry-rigged freighters with guns.

It was really sad that Tali committed suicide, but it wasn't the Geth's fault that the Quarians were so obsessed and hateful towards them, they deserved to evolve and develop individual sentience.

Is this outcome possible if you overwritten the Geth Heretics?

I'm probably siding with the quarians on my first Shepard. I'd like to think after all this nonsense about synthetics that she is just fed up with them.

Peace on my paragon though (if I still have any interest in 3 after my first run that is...)

Well, I recruited BOTH the geth and quarians.
Just made my fleet MUCH bigger. :)

So much co-existing.

Nobody felt that the Quarians (Or at least Heavy Fleet) deserved to die for their sins? Throughout the series, the majority of them have just been jerks. Tactically inept jerks. The only person I feel bad about losing was Korin. And maybe Tali.

...On second thought, I don't feel bad about Tali. But definitely Korin. Even though he was a jerk in 2.

... ...Actually, all Quarians are just jerks.

Edit: Well, I mean besides Arlionis. QUARIANS ARE JERKS FOR LIFE.

Yes however, it would require Tali to not be exiled in ME2 *AND* you had to have resolved their Loyalty argument with a Charm or Intimidate option in ME2.

How do you achieve peace? I don't like having to choose between the two at all. I spent the whole game pushing towards peace and now I can't? Why?

You need to get "5 diplomatic points out of the 7" if we call them like that.

+2 Tali Loyalty Mission done, Exonerated Tali (else it's 0)
+2 Legion Loyalty Mission Done, Destroy Heretics (rewriting give 0)
+1 Talked Legion and Tali down with a P/R check
+1 Rescued Admiral Koris instead of the Quarian Troops (N7 Mission in ME 3 during the plot)
+1 Legion's Mission ME 3.

I'm glad I got them both, a really awesome moment.

But then, like another said, all the beautiful and heartwrenching moments of the game were completely ruined by the last 10 minutes.

I did all of those except for rewriting the Heretics and was only given a Upload the code/Kill The Geth option.

Do I need to follow them up with conversation or what?

I don't understand at all. This is my first frustrating moment in the game so far.

Psst.

Just upload the code. The Quarians deserve horrible death.

Edit: I just learned that size tags don't work here. Curses.
