I purchased Battlefield 3 at release for the PC and Mass Effect 3 for the Xbox 360. I see that there is a cross promotion in which you receive a new "Battlefield 3" soldier for Mass Effect 3 multiplayer by having both games linked to your origin account. I have both games linked to my origin account, but the promotional item doesn't appear to be unlocked. Is it not available cross platform? Or is this a glitch. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. I have BF3 for PS3 and ME3 for Xbox. Both games are registered under my single Origin account, yet I didn't get the BF3 soldier either.

I've seen quite a few posts about this, but no answer from bioware yet. Hopefully soon

Aye, I'm in the same boat. Battlefield 3 on PS3, which unlocked my early access to the demo (confirmed both by playing it and by it being listed on my unlocks list on this site), but no Kit on the Xbox 360 version of ME3. I wouldn't care too much about the skin but the powers on the kit are rearranged.

Bumping in hopes of somebody on Bioware's side giving us an answer on this.

I'm having the same Issue, I play BF3 on PC and Mass Effect on my 360. I went to play some multiplayer this afternoon and no extra soldier kit.

I called EA Support about this, they said that both games have to be on the same platform. However, if you can prove that you own both games (easy if they're both on the same origin account) they can manually fix it for you. I got BF3 free with my preorder of ME3, but that means BF was on the PC while Mass Effect was on the 360. The rep I spoke with required my 360 Gamertag and password, manually put in a copy of Battlefield 3 on an XBOX that he had at support, logged in with my gamertag to make sure that it registered, and then had me confirm that it worked on my end. Soldier acquired! He said that they've had to do this for a few people, but that it's generally a few isolated cases. If the fellow isn't showing up for you, call support. They got it sorted for me, and so that seems to be the way to go.

I too own BF3:LE on the PC, which I pre-ordered via Origin. Like others I had played ME1 and ME2 on the Xbox 360 and would have loved to continue playing it on the PC if there was a way to transfer my saved games from Xbox 360 to PC. Since there isn't a way to do that I pre-ordered ME3:CE for the Xbox 360. I also haven't been able to get access to the Battlefield 3 Soldier Kit, which I think is ridiculous since I own both games. Platform shouldn't matter. A product is a product regardless of platform. EA, FIX THIS NOW OR HAVE ONE REALLY PISSED OFF CUSTOMER! Thank you and have a nice day!

Not to help the issue of the thread but something you said. You can tranfer your 360 saves to PC using a modified version of Gibbed's ME2 Save Editor. I've done it with my playthrough on PC. To get it off the Xbox requires Modio and a USB file. If you find Modio, it should lead you to the USB file. And hardware any external usb device (I use a USB external HD but I heard some use flashdrives). But the Modified Gibbed's will open 360 versions and allow you to do a save as PC.

I got ME2 on PC free during the DA2 registered users get ME2 free promo when DA2 was first released. But because my 360 saves were more complete having ME1 on 360 as well, I just Gibbed a 360 save over to PC to import to ME3.

As for the topic of the thread, I wonder this too. I like MP on PC better but I was about to get BF3 on 360. Most other MP stuff went across both platforms (war assets from promotions, readiness rating, recruitment packs, etc)

Well, I wish I would have known that before playing through ME 3 two times already :( I don't think my wife would be too keen on me doing so again on the PC, much less purchasing it for the PC as well. At any rate, I tried to contact EA customer support which was an EPIC FAIL! Here is the transcript to humor anyone experiecing this issue.

"Bipi:Thanks for contacting EA Help! My name is Bipi how may I help you?

you:Hello

Bipi:Hello Scott,

you:I purchased Mass Effect 3: Collector's Edition for the Xbox 360

you:Prior to that I had purchased Battlefield 3:Limited Edition for the PC on Origin

you:That being said, I expected the Battlefield 3 Soldier Kit to be unlocked in multiplayeryou:but that doesn't seem to be happening

you:I read on the forum that others have had similar issues and that EA support was able to resolve it

Bipi:I will be happy to look into this.

Bipi:Scott, send me your email address.

you:<CENSORED>

Bipi:Thank you for the email address.. Please give me a minute while I look into this.

you:ok

you:thank you

Bipi:Thanks for waiting solong.

Bipi:so long*

you:no problem

Bipi:Scott, we  have not heard of the promotion for the kit.

Bipi:Please post this on forum.you:one second, let me find the link

you:http://wolfsgamingblog.com/2012/03/05/battlefield-3-owners-get-exclusive-kit-for-use-in-mass-effect-3-co-op/

Bipi:Please give me a minute again.

Bipi:Thanks for waiting again.

Bipi:I am afraid but I am not able to pull any information from the above link.

Bipi:Could you please be more specific regarding the info on the link?you:its basically just showing the unlocked battlefield 3 kit in mass effect 3

Bipi:Scott, I would love to help you but we dont have much information on this. Please post on forum and the mediators will look into t his.

Bipi:this*

you:one second

you:I read on the forum that EA support could fix the issue by giving the user BF3 Online Access for Xbox 360 after verifying that the user indeed has BF3 on the PC

you:and that they have already done so a few times

you:I guess that way ME3 can see that and unlock the content

Bipi:Okay,

Bipi:Let me look into this again.

Bipi:Scott, send me the forum link or any official link where it is informed.

you:one second

you:in the meantime can you verify that I own BF3 for the PC? My origin account is under my email address <CENSORED>

you:and my origin username is TheAggie

you:Here is the note from someone at Bioware about the unlock itselfyou:http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/343/index/9675357

you:I'll find the one about EA support fixing it

Bipi:Let me look into link.

Bipi:I'm still looking into your issue. Thanks for your patience.

you:No problem. Sorry, I'm having trouble locating the specific post that the EA support fix was mentioned at but I recall that giving the user the Battlefield 3 Online Pass for Xbox 360 was the solution. I'll keep looking though

Bipi:May I have any incident number where we've provided the skins from our end, I'm asking for this ,because we've not head that we're providing skins from our end to any players who purchased ME3

you:I don't think anyone posted an incident number

you:they did say that they called support and not chatted w/ them

you:so it might be a different support team that did the unlock, but I figured you all would have access to do so

Bipi:I'm sorry to say this, but we do not have any such incident that we've provided those skins from our end, I'd request you to please contact us with any other proof related to the same.

you:I don't understand what the issue is

Bipi:let me explain.

you:how hard is it to enable BF3 Online Pass for me on Xbox 360 just so that ME3 can recognize it. I already own BF3 on the PC which is a much better version of the game than that on the Xbox 360 and so I guarantee I won't getting it on the Xbox 360 and therefore you wouldn't be missing out on any revenue if that is what this is aout

you:about*

Bipi:As I have mentioned above that we've not provided or heard anything about this promotion , that is why we're unable to provide you the BF3 skins from our end.

Bipi:I'm sorry to say this, but we won't be able to issue you any online pass from our end, because there was no such promotion.

you:forget the promotion

you:for a second

you:can you humor me and give me BF3 Online Pass

you:I'm never going to use it

you:but it seems to be the solution

Bipi:I'm sorry but we won't be able to issue you  online pass code from our end.

you:won't, or can't?

Bipi:That is against policy and we won't be able to assist you going beyond policy.

you:thats a bunch of bull****

you:EA needs to learn how to deal with customers better or they are going to loose a lot of them.

Bipi:I'd request you to please use only professional language while chatting, other wise I have to end this chat session and need to send your account to senior team for further investigation .

you:Just calling it like I see it

Bipi:I apologies for any inconvenience caused to you , however still we won't be able to issue you a new code from our end.

Bipi:If you've any other query please let me know ?

you:Every policy has it's loop holes to account for unforseen situations

you:not utilizing those loopholes in this case means EA support isn't doing it's job

Bipi:Unfortunately but out policies doesn't have.

Bipi:We are unable to provide you a new code from our end, please let me know if you've any other query, other wise I have to conclude this chat session.

Bipi:since I have already provided you the information related to policies and procedure.

you:Ok

Bipi:Thank you for understanding.

Bipi:Thank you for contacting EA. Is there anything else I can help you with today?

you:thanks for wasting my time

you:you didn't help me

Bipi:Thank you for contacting EA chat support.

Bipi:Have a nice day."
