Forgive me, as I'm sure it's been asked, but I didn't want to browse the threads to avoid late-game spoilers. I just completed the Citadel and the N7 mission and the VS is still at the hospital. I assume there's a number of Priority missions I have to do before Ash is back, so how many is it?
How long is the VS out of action?

You're about 4-5 'Priority' missions out if you just got to the Citadel.
