So, did I get the worst possible ending or what?

Obviously I picked the destroy option, but I read there was an option to save yourself, earth, and anderson.
I dunno, I felt the ending I got was kind of lame.
And the old man and kid threw me off.
NOT impressed with how things ended.

You can only save Anderson from being executed by TIM, so you can have this little heart-to-heart with him before he croaks. He dies no matter what.
Unless something changes depending on your EMS, I picked the 'Destroy' option and Earth was fine. It just had no technology left.

If you prefer, think of it as bad, worse, and worst. It's up for debate, as that point is entirely based on opinion.

Judging by the feedback on BSN that I am reading now, there really isn't a promising ending...it kind of kills my replayability seeing as all of the endings technically are the same with a few adjustments in the mix.

There's an ending? My game just crashes and goes to the credits after I say let's take back Earth.
If there was a rep system, I'd be giving you a +1 for this.

And it kills replayablity retroactively. It makes all three games meaningless.Fishbulb wrote...

Why were the renegade options and paragon options greyed out with Illusive Man at the end? Is that supposed to be part of the new game plus?

Every ending is a good ending because life will continue. That was Shepards ultimate goal, so I'm happy with it.
Blue( Control ending) Yep, life continues. Oh, wait another cycle will happen now. *Price is right fail music*
Normandy awesome squad is stuck on an unknown planet, with unknown resources, with unknown anythign really. So it's either gonna be Dextro (Bye humans, asari!) or Levo ( By Dextro-duo!)
Red (Destroy everything) Yep life continues! Yay bye reapers! Wait, so that massive fleet is stuck in Sol System? Wait, technology is undone and we are back in the stone age? Uhhh that massive wave of death that is currently flying our way from the Charron Relay being destroyed? *Price is right fail music*
Synthesis (Green) Yep! Life continues as a gigantic organic synthetic life group. Awesome. This is the only one where life effectively continues, but is it really life now that everyone has been forced to this end without any possibility of refusing it

Those are supposed to unlock if your reputation is high enough, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's broken.Fishbulb wrote...

My renegade was maxed out, with literally an inch of blue at the top.

Yeah, I'd say, Destroy Tech ending is depressing, because it has Shep basically committing mass genocide of every known species, since the destruction of tech would mean the death of anybody on a spacefaring vehicle.
And that's supposed to be some kind of victory? Mass genocide?

My rationale when making my choice to Destroy technology was this:
I don't want to control the Reapers. If I can control them, that means other people can. And what happens if they break control? They'll return, and they'll kill everyone all over again. I want to be rid of them for good.
I don't want to turn people into synthetics. I want people to be people. Peoples' imperfections define them as much as their positive traits. Organic life is just that: organic. If we want to become super-cyborgs later down the road, then we can. But let us make that decision. Not you, Catalyst-Kid, and not me.
The Reapers needed to die. As for all the deaths, it is unfortunate. But we can rebuild. We lose the technology, but we don't lose the people who understand how to create and wield it. And if we go on to craft some super-synthetics that wipe us out anyways, that's fine. But if we're going to be wiped out by some ultimate AI race, let us be the ones to create it, not some deus ex machina with terrible logic.
