So Liara gets to meet a real live Prothean, Joker gets an EDI with a humanoid body, and Garrus gets more giant guns to calibrate. Is it just me, or is this game working to give each character their deepest desire before the world ends?

They're the EXACT same guns he spent weeks calibrating in ME2. Unless there's some newer cannon than the Thanix...which there isn't.
