After you do the mission where you rescue Jacob and the Cerberus scientists, you go to the cockpit and can talk to Joker and Edi.

If you talk to Edi first (this is the dialogue where she talks about the purpose of synthetic life), and then talk to Joker (which isn't a normal dialogue, he just talks) you lose all player control and can't move. Even if you save the game and reload, you still can't move, forcing you to use a previous save file.

If you only talk to Joker and not Edi, this doesn't happen.

I repeated this 3 times.

I haven't tried doing another mission and trying this again, but I will be saving prior to talking to him from now on.

I have this issue when talking with EDI following the Sur'kesh mission.

EDIT: I've discovered how to avoid the issue - make sure Shepard is already standing still when you talk to her and you should be fine.

Just make sure you're standing still before initiating a conversation and you'll be fine. Haven't had any issues since I started following that rule.

I seem to get this every once and a while. I need to save before talking to Joker in case it freezes and I need to reload.
