Okay so the reason I am playing on my laptop with graphics below the minum requirement (but not too much lower the games still runs smoothly) is because of a seperate issue I am having on my powerful custom built gaming desktop which I will address in a seperate post.
So on my laptop usually either during combat while pressing the LEFT-Shift key or when I attempt to open the menu to save the game or level up my character the game will sometimes crash to desktop and stop working. Other times it works fine. There are times where it will be fine for awhile maybe even as long as 30-45 minutes before it crashes other times it will crash shortly after I load the save. Does anybody know any settings I could change in game or any reason for the crash. Like I said my laptop graphics are slightly below minimum but with past expiriences I have had with running games on systems slightly below minimum requirements I encountered Lag or choppy movement rather than periodic crashes.
So can somebody please help me

I am having the exact same problem. Posted about it last night. I sent an email to tech support but haven't heard back yet. I'm playing on a Pavilion Dv7 but I'm pretty sure it's over the minimum requirements. Anyway I hope someone is able to find a solution to this problem as it is quite annoying.

Having the same problem. Posted about it also. I'm playing on Pavilion dv6 with ATI Radeon 1 gb 6770m graphics card so I'm pretty sure I've over the min requirements.

Try updating your drivers to the new Catalyst 12.2.

Thanks for pointing out the new update but when i try to install they recommend me to check my manufacturer's website. Try to run a update with Catalyst that is already installed and it said 'AMD Catalyst Not Available" but it said "Last updated 3.7.2012.' So not sure if it updated or not.

I just tried the Catalyst update, no luck. It's gotten to the point where it's crashing every time I open the power menu.

Not sure if this fixed it but I have switchable graphics between intel and my amd card. I went into the config manager for my graphics and made sure to set mass effect to high performance vs before hand it was set to not assigned.

this sounds like my problem. i made a topic and sent a ticket about the specific .dll that seems to be art fault. you guys might be having the same .dll issue. i think it is the switchable graphics. high performance might fix it for me too but i haven't tried again since switching it on.

Went into (what I think was) my switchable graphics config and set everything to Performance. So far so good. Seems to have to have done the trick. Thanks for the info everyone. If you will excuse me I have to go save the galaxy, no big deal.

I got the same problem as described by Star400040. Since I arrived on Mars, the game keeps crashing.
I am playing on a i5-2500k HD3000.
I already exchanged the dll-files in the binary folder, which did not help at all.
