Hello, first time posting on the BSN 

Unfortunately, it's not a good post.

Anyways, I've just received my copy of ME3 today and have been trying to figure out why the installation progress will not go past 13%. I can't tell whether Origin has problems installing the game or if it is the fault of my own computer.

Whenever this happens, my DVD drive just suddenly stops running, though I hear a series of 'shaking' noises coming from the drive. Luckily, my disc is still intact and I also have the option of downloading the game through Origin (cause of the CD key) which I am currently doing at the moment.

Anyone else been having this problem?

Exact same problem here - install stops at 13% and just a whole lotta clunking.

not me, it takes 20min to install it from both cds together. im sorry to hear the 13% thing, since I have the actual cd's too.

Me too. Origin would not install from disc at all, so dled it from EA, now install is stuck at 13% and yes, the scary noises.
HP pavillion dv6 laptop (win7) - i know it's infamous for disc read errors. What are you guys using?

EDIT: I ejected the disc (forcibly stopping the install), then began the install anew. It's up to 27% as of now. This could be an option

EDIT 2: Clunked out at 45% this time - going to have another go, I'm not sure I can dl 10GB

But I doubt it's the drive causing the problem.

Yes, I am downloading via Origin now, though I don't think I can play until tomorrow, which is a shame.

I'm gonna try doing what this guy did (though it may be messy) http://forum.ea.com/...st/8243931.page - on the third post.
