Its like it's one big joke or something 5 years in the making. "Oh you enjoy the story? Enjoy the characters? How about we tear it all away. Hahaha!" It just makes me feel sick knowing that all we get for all this time and effort is a horrible ending. Period.

Mass Effect 3 was an awesome game...up until the final 5 minutes or so.
I
understand  Bioware said it would be a darker game with an even darker
ending, but why end the game the way they did...so many plot holes and
unanswered questions. I am all for the hero dying for the sake of saving
everything/everyone, but at least explain what happens after everything
more so than just some quick holo shots.

The endings were terrible, plain and simple...Image IPB

Has Bioware even made a statement about why they decided to make such terrible endings?

The whole lets pull a deus ex machina, and have nothing you have done throughout the series matter in any meaningful way is just horrendous.

I could accept, no matter what you do the Reapers win/loose. But the whole god kid, and cycle crap is just pathetic when it comes to intelligent writing. And the whole lets have the same ending three times with different colors is just lazy.

Mass effect ended for me with ME2, harbinger on his way and the galaxy getting ready to stop him. But the worst thing is that under the crap that is the ending is a decent game. I really wish drew karpyshyn wrote ME3.

Nope and I doubt they will.

Or they'll say "We have a new ending in the pipeline and it will be available for $10"

I will never again buy any product from BioWare unless they will fix this sad ending that completely ruins a fantastic game trilogy.

Used, from the bargain bin, here, if I'm tempted to buy it at all.

Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed the rest of ME3. But knowing about the end (and then actually playing it through, myself) took a lot away from my enjoyment of the game.

Im actually in sorta of a bind here im of the opinion the entire ME franchise should stay done with ME3 with no other games ever being made so future ME games won't be on my list to ever get at the same time i don't care about DA anymore so i have no intention of getting DA3 so the only way i can buy another bioware game is if they do a new IP but i doubt they will so i won't be buying games from them till then and the endings are trash but are not the reason i wont be buying bioware games for a while as stated above.

I spent hundreds of hours of my time and hundreds of dollars of my money supporting BioWare and Mass Effect to get to this point. With that said, I am utterly disappointed by how this game turned out. I don't even think it was a good game to begin with--Shepard has no mind of his own here. He's reduced to doing fetch quests or mindlessly going after something or other that somebody else wants throughout the plot. The game is so linear that you're even reduced to lacking much of the simple choice that ME1 and ME2 provided for you, like when to do at least some of the important story missions.

This game would be tolerable with ending DLC, and I want and will pay for it, if that gets your attention. Perhaps I'll even buy your games again if you fix your mistakes here. But I'll say one thing: this has made me lose faith in you completely, BioWare, and it'll take years of actual GOOD work to get it back from me.

Ending DLC or NO further purchases OR playtime.

It won't be done.
The reason the endings are written the way they are, I think, is to incorporate an MMO. How they plan on doing this, I don't know, but my only speculation is that - all of those figheters you collected through the game are now stranded on earth, LITERAL years away from homes (and that's if FTL boosters are still functional). The likelihood of anyone making it back (considering that you'd need to stock up on food for that long) is incredibly slim.

I'm amazed how many times BW seem to mistep since DA2, now ME3 was a huge correction it seems despite its flaws, but these endings man, just no.

I don't like MMO's so that's not really a concern to me as i wont be following its developing just like when i heard the new kotor would be a MMO i stopped following it the moment that was stated.

The endings where complete and total bull. I've definately kind of lost a bit of faith in Bioware, but I'm not going to start drawing conclusions just yet. If they pull some Fallout 3 crap and reveal Shepard is somehow alive after ME3, my faith will be...partially restored. But I still have Dragon Age, which I love almost as much as the ME series. So I won't stop buying their product...I'll just be expecting a bit less.

If there aren't any changes to the endings via DLC, no I won't be. Bioware was one of my favorite developers and I would always rush to their defense should they be criticized. This stunt that was pulled changed that. New endings or I'm done with Bioware. Already cancelled my swtor sub because of this.

This will not be my sole determining factor in deciding whether or not to purchase the game; however,  that being said I am starting to have a lot of reservations towards Bioware now post EAing of it for beaucoup dollars.  I am going to flatly and plainly state this.  I honestly don't understand what is up with them.

The decisions they made with Dragon Age specifically no unity in the protagonist, the abject disappointment that their MMO has been to me, and now finally destroying any desire I had to replay not only 3 but really all of those games due to the fact that in the end nothing actually matters.  This is very troubling to me and I have been with them since the Interplay days.  I just don't know anymore.

I know this, I don't care what DLC they come up with.  No desire to play means no reason to purchase any DLC.

Until Bioware apologizes for thinking these endings were a good idea and makes DLC to allow Shepard and their LI to be stranded somewhere, preferrably Earth, I will not be buying another game.

The 'choices' affected War Assets ONLY, and the endings were almost as bad as Chrono Cross. It's only marginally better because it actually has dialogue.

The child/Catalyst was INCREDIBLY, INCREDIBLY poorly done. Shepard had no opportunity to argue for a better solution, and all the 'solutions' for the best ending just make me wonder why I bothered playing this game anymore.

The journey was awesome though, I'll be honest.

I have mixed feelings about the endings, but I think ME3 is a great game. In terms of gameplay, I feel that ME3 combines the best elements of ME1 and ME2. The game is just lots of fun, and I will probably buy other Bioware games, as long as they are not MMOs.

And no matter what anyone says, there is no way the ending to ME3 is worse than Me2's idiotic melting humans to make a giant reaper.

Honestly, I just don't trust Bioware now, at least not the Mass Effect team. I put my faith and it was clearly mislaid, so I'm not going to do it again, I might get another game from them but definitely not on release day.

While I haven't finished the game yet, if the endings are as bad (and bitter) as people are saying they are, ME3 will be my last Bioware game as well. The lack of not only a, I'll say, more happy than bitter ending, but also the lack of a "Reapers win" ending really seem to make these endings ridiculous.

I just don't understand why they would not add one of each of those to cover all the bases, not to mention pretty much destroy any future for the franchise due to no relay travel. From the sound of how the endings work out, they seem way too... "emo", I guess would be the best term. Whoever thought the fans would be satisfied with the outcome obviously didn't take time to go to the Character and Romance forum to see how many people wanted, not only a happy ending with their respective LI, but also wanted the franchise as a whole to be a success and allow for further content in the future (books, games, etc., and yes, obviously NOT with Shep, as this was his/her last hurrah).

After the debacle with DA2, ME3 is the final nail in the coffin for Bioware. Heck, even the DA2 ending seems better than what I've read about the ME3 endings, and that is saying something.

Edit: Just to add, what I've played so far, I've really enjoyed, but just knowing how contrived the ending was really scares me.
