I
understand Bioware said it would be a darker game with an even darker
ending, but why end the game the way they did...so many plot holes and
unanswered questions. I am all for the hero dying for the sake of saving
everything/everyone, but at least explain what happens after everything
more so than just some quick holo shots.
The endings were terrible, plain and simple...

I could accept, no matter what you do the Reapers win/loose. But the whole god kid, and cycle crap is just pathetic when it comes to intelligent writing. And the whole lets have the same ending three times with different colors is just lazy.
Mass effect ended for me with ME2, harbinger on his way and the galaxy getting ready to stop him. But the worst thing is that under the crap that is the ending is a decent game. I really wish drew karpyshyn wrote ME3.

Nope and I doubt they will.xAGATHONx wrote...
Has Bioware even made a statement about why they decided to make such terrible endings?
Or they'll say "We have a new ending in the pipeline and it will be available for $10"

Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed the rest of ME3. But knowing about the end (and then actually playing it through, myself) took a lot away from my enjoyment of the game.

This game would be tolerable with ending DLC, and I want and will pay for it, if that gets your attention. Perhaps I'll even buy your games again if you fix your mistakes here. But I'll say one thing: this has made me lose faith in you completely, BioWare, and it'll take years of actual GOOD work to get it back from me.
Ending DLC or NO further purchases OR playtime.

Im actually in sorta of a bind here im of the opinion the entire ME franchise should stay done with ME3 with no other games ever being made so future ME games won't be on my list to ever get at the same time i don't care about DA anymore so i have no intention of getting DA3 so the only way i can buy another bioware game is if they do a new IP but i doubt they are so i won't be buy games from them till then the endings suck ass but are not the reason i wont be buying bioware games for a while.
It won't be done.
The reason the endings are written the way they are, I think, is to incorporate an MMO. How they plan on doing this, I don't know, but my only speculation is that - all of those figheters you collected through the game are now stranded on earth, LITERAL years away from homes (and that's if FTL boosters are still functional). The likelihood of anyone making it back (considering that you'd need to stock up on food for that long) is incredibly slim.

I don't like MMO's so that's not really a concern to me as i wont be following its developing just like when i heard the new kotor would be a MMO i stopped following it the moment that was stated.

The decisions they made with Dragon Age specifically no unity in the protagonist, the abject disappointment that their MMO has been to me, and now finally destroying any desire I had to replay not only 3 but really all of those games due to the fact that in the end nothing actually matters. This is very troubling to me and I have been with them since the Interplay days. I just don't know anymore.
I know this, I don't care what DLC they come up with. No desire to play means no reason to purchase any DLC.

The 'choices' affected War Assets ONLY, and the endings were almost as bad as Chrono Cross. It's only marginally better because it actually has dialogue.
The child/Catalyst was INCREDIBLY, INCREDIBLY poorly done. Shepard had no opportunity to argue for a better solution, and all the 'solutions' for the best ending just make me wonder why I bothered playing this game anymore.
The journey was awesome though, I'll be honest.

And no matter what anyone says, there is no way the ending to ME3 is worse than Me2's idiotic melting humans to make a giant reaper.

I just don't understand why they would not add one of each of those to cover all the bases, not to mention pretty much destroy any future for the franchise due to no relay travel. From the sound of how the endings work out, they seem way too... "emo", I guess would be the best term. Whoever thought the fans would be satisfied with the outcome obviously didn't take time to go to the Character and Romance forum to see how many people wanted, not only a happy ending with their respective LI, but also wanted the franchise as a whole to be a success and allow for further content in the future (books, games, etc., and yes, obviously NOT with Shep, as this was his/her last hurrah).
After the debacle with DA2, ME3 is the final nail in the coffin for Bioware. Heck, even the DA2 ending seems better than what I've read about the ME3 endings, and that is saying something.
Edit: Just to add, what I've played so far, I've really enjoyed, but just knowing how contrived the ending was really scares me.
